Building access

hey tomorrow is the start of my first semester. I am a worrier. I did not get my zips card yet. i see that they are used for building access. will I be able to get to my classrooms during normal class hours with out swiping a card? I plan on getting the card of course but I’ll have little time to get it before my first class. I thought it was more for the meal plan and that sort of stuff but I didn’t realize it was also for building access? Is that accurate? I went to the events this weekend but totally forgot about the zip card

You're absolutely fine! You don't need your Zip Card to access buildings during normal classroom hours. All buildings are open that you would need.

Access to residence halls, computer labs, and some restricted classrooms for upper level courses. Walking into Olin Hall for English Comp you'll be ok. You really should get it as soon as you can tho.

Things must have changed ... getting your Zip Card used to be part of New Student Orientation...but jesus, don't wait till last minute to get it either.

Life lesson for college: DO NOT WAIT TILL LAST MINUTE.

if you have even like 20 minutes before your first class, it takes maybe 5 minutes to get your picture taken and zip card printed! i had to do this last year 🙏
