We are gonna buy some new picture frames, some candles and we might even find ourselves a new Miami wife! We are so back, baby!

Ilia is really good. Genuinely incredible talent. Just arrogant. If he can learn humility and train like defeat is a possibility, he'll come back stronger.

Yeah, he doesn't belong in that weight class, but he would have beaten Gaethje if he had a proper gameplan.

Well, he didn’t take Justin seriously and he lost badly because of it
It’s gotta give him anxiety just thinking of jumping back into the public and how they’ll react to him

He’s taking it better than Ronda but we will see how is he starts getting jab; his face may not be able to take hits the same way and if a doctor said “if you get hit like that again you might be done for life” - he might not be as aggressive and may need to be more surgical

The cringiest thing ever about the fight community, referring to something a fighter has done as "our" accomplishments 🤦🤡

Man said “If God wills it, who am I to question it” in an interview. Not word for word, but it was somewhere along the lines of that

Easier said than done. If you literally break your whole face, it definitely will affect you mentally. This isn’t something you can just “will” your way through. And to compete at the pinnacle of this sport, you’ve got to be at 110% at all times. Every seemingly minuscule disadvantage can suddenly turn you from a top fighter into a journeyman.

tbh, you never been a fighter in his caliber so you can't really tell how tough their minds are and how it operates. It literally operates in a whole different dimension that your brain. They go deep in trenches, but if you have similar caliber of experience, I might respect and give your thoughts some understanding.

I love how these arm chair experts are so condescending and talking like they've competed at the pro level before, gotta love reddit!

u/MCarchibald 3h ago
what is condescending about my comment? chill the fuck out I just said that you can't really come back from damage like this, wich is basically proven by fighters like Rory McDonald, Ferguson, who were never the same after taking a shitload of damage in a fight.

How tf do you know? Have you broken your whole face in an mma title fight? Have you ever been in an mma fight? Or had your face broken?

u/MCarchibald 3h ago
surely not in an mma title fight lol but in muay thai I got my nose smashed in bad. Took months to not think about it while training. I Cant imagine getting your WHOLE face broken, both orbitals plus a huge amount of scar tissue. Im not hating on Topuria, I hope he comes back strong, I just can't see it
