Debatable man lmao I sparked a dude once and he had a full smile. Stiff as a board. Bodies do weird shit. My buddy during sparring also got sparked (accidental) and he too looked way too smiley
It happens lol
Not saying Leon was, but bodied get weird, lock up and shit happens

In RDR (Not Reiner De Ridder) and RDR2 when John and Arthur smoke, they get their eagle eye core up and have intense focus on pressure points. Carlos Prates is definitely seeing those pressure points

It's wild how "small" he looks, but he packs SO MUCH power!

u/Neat_Rare_5389 4h ago
Heās just lanky, all that fast twitch muscle probably a bit spread out.
When I first learned of the fighting nerds and saw a partial pic of Prates, I legit thought he was some 5ā10 bantamweight or something. Then I saw him for the first time against Neil Magny and he looked terrifying in there.

u/Cinnamonlobster12 4h ago
He also get a ton of torque from his long limbs. If his arms were any longer, he would have to drag them across the floor. Them long limbed lanky dudes are not to be messed with.

The magny one looks dake af

Yeah why are you the only one mentioning this? I mean I donāt think it IS fake, but Iāve played it in slo mo 10+ times now and I cannot figure out what did it.
I found a different clip from another angle and I still donāt quite understand.

I thought the same thing. Looks like the left clipped his temple as he ducked and he went out right there. Super fast

If he stays out of range he can maybe catch him but good luck doing that against Islam for 5 rounds I donāt see it. Morales is very interesting

u/itsavibe- 4h ago
Yeah⦠OP why not show prates vs Garry?
Islam would do prates just like he did Garry

after watching omar im pretty sure islam isn't gonna take any risks. he gonna shoot and submit prates
ā¢
u/Big-Ad-6097 31m ago
That's why Prates isn't taking any risks either. He will keep standing and knockout Islam

Unless prates gets a lucky punch hes going to get finished by islam. Hes too easy to take down and control. Morales has a big size advantage. Going by how the gary fight went he seems to have the best chance.

u/Empty_Occasion_963 4h ago
Its possible, but we all know Islam will stray away from standing and just hug him to a decision

u/UniqueDiamond7643 4h ago
With how bad Prates takedown & ground defense happen to be, it likely ends in a 1st round submissionĀ

I donāt think he can beat Islam, but Iād love to watch him try. Heās going to press forward and give us an entertaining fight for sure.

u/Frecc718 33m ago
Entertaining for the first 15 seconds of every round until Islam takes him down and holds him there. Unless Islam subs him.

Can the bigger, younger, incredibly dangerous man beat a career lightweight? Uh, probably.

i dont understand how he isnt Bonafide #1 contender, put away 2 former champs back to back, made both look easy as well, say what you will about the legitimacy of Edwards and jack, but Islam and Belal couldn't do it.
2
u/Global-Instance-4520 3h ago
How did islam not make JDM look easy just because he didnāt finish him. JDM was almost crying out there⦠and Brady made Leon look easy as well
2
u/Cdurlavie 4h ago
Well he lost to ian Garry ?
1
u/OHFUGGYEAHBUDS 3h ago
well yeah Ian Garry being is also #1 contender and prates did almost get the finish, I know a little too late but still competitive. then going on to finish two former champs (also geoff neal) should put him back on top. who else in the division has this kind of resume? closest is morales but all he did was beat a former #1 contender
1
u/Cdurlavie 1h ago
There is no little too late in sport. Only result counts.
Though i donāt see the point anyway, in the UFC, ranking doesnāt count anymore, so who cares
Whatever is his ranking he will be next for the title

Leon was winning before the KO, even the striking exchanges were razor close until the last second
