I understand you feel that she should be punished, facts be damned but this is how our legal system works.

No one but the most extreme TINY minority is excusing her behavior.

The real condition of postpartum psychosis MIGHT explain her actions but I don't know if a full panel of board certified psychologists would even agree whether she was or wasn't experiencing a psychotic episode.

Dude never watched a friend or family member of his be completely changed and hallucinating, talking absolute non-sense from one day to another.

That basically the person you previously knew is completely gone

Every single cell in her body would be different 8 years in the future than they are now, including all the cells of her brain which make up her personality, choices, and memory. In virtue of what do you consider it a time out?
