As an Everton fan, just awful all around. I feel like some minor thing came up in the medical, they tried to renegotiate and penny pinch, tried to panic sign other strikers, and Balo just noped out. Truly awful as it would’ve been a great fit for all parties. Also now Everton are completely reliant on BARRY coming good and not ever getting injured. Wild stuff. Someone should get fired for this.

It seems like an absolutely WILD miss by the leadership. Hopefully someone’s head will roll. And hopefully Flo finds a new home where he is wanted.

Everton failing at the transfer window?!?! Are we surprised? /s

I realize this doesn’t fit the agenda, but if it would have benefited all parties it would have happened. People/organizations have a right to their own priorities and it’s pretty arrogant to assume external opinions should dictate internal affairs.

It’s ok to be upset our guy didn’t get the big club move we wanted, it’s not ok to assume you know better.

Your team is trash and has been for a good while

As a everton fan, I agree

u/AhabFlanders 6h ago

Everton, that

2

u/actually_Sir 6h ago

Relative to a lot of the other PL clubs they seem pretty cheap/unwilling to spend much on players

u/hijinks #FREEBALOGUN 5h ago

we really haven't been the same club since like 2010ish.. we had a small run around covid times but we've been a selling club for so long its sad

1

u/Feisty_Cranberry5572 Deuce 2h ago

lol we did not have a run around Covid times what are you on about?

Haven’t been good since Lukaku and Barkley

1

u/hijinks #FREEBALOGUN 2h ago

ok.. run was like a few months when DCL was scoring goals for fun and we were in the top 4

u/Important_Wheel_2101 2h ago

It’s their right to run their club the way they want

K. I know 30 other teams that would’ve loved to have been in that position. Still champions of England though.

And it’s definitely a good thing for the game that oil states are running clubs and winning.

If he performs well in the first half of the season and gets a solid transfer how does he lose? It appears he’s betting on himself.

Edit: Fascinating fam. Seemingly everyone involved in this deal, including tangentially Chelsea think this deal was trash and him walking away was reasonable. Yet the US sub thinks him making a choice to bet on himself was bad, wild.

10

u/MimeSweeper360 6h ago

His playing time at Monaco will be severely diminished because they already brought in his replacement before this deal fell apart.

u/atomicskiracer 5h ago edited 5h ago

I’m sorry- which part of my comment do you disagree with? Everything you stated are potentials. Has his replacement started over him yet for any extended time? You’re being so dramatic.

Everton only have like 1 ST lol

Nobody hates Everton more than Evertonians!

I need Tim Howard to do some digging with his contacts there and share the tea on his next pod

Everton, Monaco, and Chelsea all lose. Monaco the most since they have BAD financial problems right now. Since the transfer window for places like Saudi is still open, hopefully Balogun isn't forced there.

1

u/Biteroon 3h ago

I don't think balogun goes to the Saudis. He still has a lot to prove in Europe. I'm sure he will get to England in the January window, but Monaco are really screwed in this more than anyone else.

u/OhLawdOfTheRings #FREEBALOGUN 6h ago

I'm an Everton fan cause of Timmy. This would have been amazing. Still gonna buy a Balogun Jersey and pretend like it happened

u/PhilLesh311 5h ago

Damn bro could’ve been a united fan lol.

Everton signing Balogun: Title race

Everton without Balogun: Relegation

As an Everton and USMNT fan, I was irrationally excited about this particular transfer. Now I’m just sad. It’s going to be a tough year, as it has been more often than not on the blue side of Merseyside lately, regardless of whether the Grealish deal also got done.

1

u/Important_Wheel_2101 2h ago

They were never competing for a title

-6

u/spittymcgee1 4h ago

I hope you get relegated after this shitshow

6

u/ericsfedup 3h ago

This is a warning for any US fans that was considering supporting Everton. Stay away. Protect your heart…. There is only pain.

u/Tasty-Entertainer711 Waldo Kit 4h ago

Balo will be fine. He'll probably only play sparingly if not at all for 4 months and then be traded in the winter window. Everton however have only soiled their reputation for transfers which isn't great.

7

u/UbiSububi8 New York 6h ago

Dead to me after dissing Balo

1

u/spittymcgee1 4h ago

For reals

3

u/Lepew1 5h ago

Why did Balogun fail his physical?

-1

u/Biteroon 3h ago

They haven't said yet, but it's obviously enough for Everton to want to renegotiate the deal. That will be the interesting part I think.

3

u/novascr 3h ago

But they wanted to use his injury to secure better terms- while still acquiring the player. Ofc Balo felt disrespected. If Everton didn’t anticipate this reaction from Balo, they’re complete idiots

2

u/capsrock02 6h ago

What I saw was that it was Flo’s decision not to sign with them?

13

u/ArsenalBOS 6h ago

There’d be no reason for Balogun to hang around for hours waiting to complete the deal, just to bail, unless something changed.

Given the medical story, I think Everton tried to renegotiate the already agreed personal terms, and Balogun understandably told them to pound sand.

1

u/Doomsday_59 #FREEBALOGUN 5h ago

Now imagine if Barca buy Flo after all of this

1

u/ProudInfluence3770 5h ago

Everton will get what they deserve in the table this year

u/atomicskiracer 6h ago

What? They didn’t impact this at all, he bailed

-6

u/Chewy009x 5h ago edited 5h ago

I don’t understand isn’t he the one who failed the medical? What did Everton do?

Edit: ahh the typical downvotes for not understanding the situation lol

1

u/novascr 3h ago

Everton didn’t find him ā€œun-signable.ā€ They tried to use whatever they found in the physical to secure better terms/save money.
