Conditions Questions (See Guide before posting) Chance creek FSR for tricouni west peak?
Hey all, I have a medium clearance AWD suv, so I am considering taking chance creek FSR and parking at the cloudburst branch and then hiking 3.5 km to branch 200 FSR for the lower trailhead of tricouni west peak. Has anyone done this ? what elevation can you get driving up branch 200 if you have medium clearance SUV (7.5 inches clearance)? If I can get to atleast 600 meters elevation on branch 200, it makes sense to just take it instead of the chance creek FSR. I have driven FSRs to trailheads around 30 times before but most of them were in moderate conditions. I took into account of the additional distance and elevation gain it adds the hike and I plan to start earlier accordingly. Appreciate any input , thanks !
I checked other trip reports on all trails and Facebook, some mention they have been able to make it up FSR 200 in SUVs until the washout but others recommended 4x4 even until the washout.
