Identification Help identifying model and year
Hi everyone,
I picked this up in a knife store in Serbia a while back during a business trip but I am not sure what model it is. Payed 20€ for it.

help lost cause?
Hey, im new to this subreddit but thought who better to come to than the experts.
This is my dads old Victorinox, and as you can see this thing is very well loved. My dad was never off the road and you can definitely tell by the condition this tool is in.The blades end somehow snapped at some point (I don't know how he did it either) and all the parts are stiff from being locked in his old shed since his passing. I would love to give this old thing a new life but I have to admit that I have no idea how I'd even start. Is it worth saving? Any tips? Or is it a lost cause?

My Champ
I’ve wanted this knife since I got my very first SAK when I was 13 - the fabled, the mythic, the inimitable Champ! I love the black scales - I also love the heft of it in my hand.

EDC Trayvax / Victorinox card Combo
galleryJust sharing my pocket setup: Trayvax Original Wallet 2.0 and Victorinox Swiss Card Lite. Some people dislike that the Card Lite doesn’t include a bottle opener, but there is one on the Trayvax, along with a pry bar.

The CHAMP
My first SAK was a Huntsman, a Christmas gift when I was 14. I cut myself with it within 15 minutes. Since then, I've had a SAK with me everyday or just about. About 7 years ago when I was in college, I got a MiniChamp. And boy that was perfect, fit in the little pocket on jeans, had a pen, and a surprisingly great selection of tools that I found myself reaching for several times a day. Had that one until Christmas 2024 when my now-wife got me another MiniChamp as the old one was really showing its age. The pen had run out of ink, cracked and chipped scales, the inlaid logo even wore thin and fell away somewhere. The new one lasted until a couple weeks ago. I used the cuticle tool thingy to loosen some knots on my car's bike rack and think I left it on the trunk before driving off. Despite my going back several times trying to find it, it had vanished. I lost my emotional support knife as my wife puts it, and I found myself reaching for the Champ, however mini, and being dejected to rediscover each time it was gone.
Now, since that first Huntsman at 14, I had my eye on the Swisschamp. It was cool, it was big, it was a little pricey. But I never got it bc I was happy with the one (ones) I had. But with the ghost of Christmas Champs haunting my now empty pockets, I resolved to get one I would feel missing before it ever really went missing. And so I made the adult purchase I had been putting since being a child and got the champ. When it arrived, I was shocked at how manageable it was, how not-big, how not-bulky it really was. Sure, heavier than I had been used to, but great. It dropped to the bottom of my pocket, it was definitely noticeable. But man if you put the pocket clip on it you barely know it's there until you need it. I suppose that kinda kills the whole notion of getting a knife I'd notice is missing. But man this thing is great.
The MiniChamp is dead, long live the Champ.

help Polish for tools?
I have a rotary tool and some beat up SD’s I’m trying to bring back to life. Under the shell was pretty grimy, so I cleaned the tools using washing up liquid and then a toothbrush and some Bar Keepers Friend. It did a decent job at cleaning them up, but now I want to make them shine.
I then used a rotary tool and some polish compound I have, but the result isn’t what I expected. I think I possibly made them worse.
Any suggestions on what product to use to give them a mirror finish?

Finally settled my Victorinox setup after way too much overthinking
Spent the last weeks going back and forth on this, so here’s where I landed. Rule I gave myself: every knife has one fixed place and one job, no duplicates.
Before this, my carry was a SwissCard Nailcare in my tech pouch plus an Alox Classic SD on my keychain. Problem was flying — the Classic SD had to come off the keys every time, and then the SwissCard would sit in the pouch while I was out with a sling bag all day. Two things to remember for something that only happens a few times a year and a lot of packing back and forth.
Now a Companion S Alox (aka Jetsetter Alox) lives on the keychain permanently. No blade, so it never has to come off, and it’s automatically with me wherever the keys go. Scissors are what I actually used the SwissCard Nailcare for anyway most of the time. A Bantam Alox rides in my pocket for the blade — went Bantam over Cadet because it’s 6 mm thick and I genuinely forget it’s there. Same 63 mm blade either way, and I don’t need the can opener and nailfile. This is my latest addition and with trousers in the office, the only knife/tool I would carry to be honest in terms of thickness and weight.
Fixed places: the red Companion sits in a living room drawer for around-the-house use, mostly parcel opening. A Climber lives in the glovebox of my car.
For outdoor use I keep three in a box: an Opinel No 8 in carbon for picnics and feathersticks, a Victorinox Sentinel when things get wet, and a Morakniv Classic No 2 for fire prep and bushcrafting.
What am I missing, or is one of these redundant?

mods/customs Looking to personalize a knife as a gift. Need custom color scales with engraving. Any shops that do this?
Tried to buy from Victorinox directly, but they didn't like the engraving (juvenile humor inside joke, nothing actually bad) so they cancelled my order and the item went out of stock. Planning on buying the knife from a different store, but none seem to offer a decent selection of colors, or if they do they don't offer engraving. I've also checked Etsy to find the same sort of deal. It's for a 58mm SAK. Anybody know of any people or stores i can look to to get this done?

Collections NVD; Spartan Lite
Here's my new-to-me Spartan Lite, a great SAK to have at home, especially by the bedside, as it helps in looking around the room (or the Kid's!) without waking or startling anyone up. And having the 3D Phillips is "the icing on the cake". Thinking about making a "Climber Lite", just to have scissors too!.

When two hobbies meet 😅
Recently, I finally scratched an old itch to own a few SAK knives, and I've also been getting into cigars.
When I found out there’s actually a Vic with a built-in punch cutter, I knew I just had to have it!😅
I feel so lucky finding one in a local store, especially since they are discontinued and pretty rare lately.
I even got the very last one they had.😁
