And fix that one Apu mission where you have to drive from one side of the town to the other with a timer. No-one can beat that except with cheats probably.
I've beat it. I have never beaten the last mission even with all of the hints and tricks people talk about. Once just once I got the last barrel of toxic waste to the ship and into the tractor beam. Do you know that the time doesn't stop while it's ascending? And it takes about 10 seconds to go up?
I quit after that.
I happened to watch a speed run of hit and run the other week. When driving, if you press the button to look backwards it well despawn all the cats in front of you for a few seconds giving you a better path.
Apu was «cancelled» years ago, so a remake would definitely not involve his character. Let the game be, I say. Remakes with modernisation of certain cultural aspects is a hit and miss approach that might or might not ruin both memories and parts of older games.
on one hand they’re clearly distancing themselves entirely from apu as a character but a remaster is just an old game and they likely still are involved with selling old simpsons dvds which have apu.
they’d probably have a warning about how they represent characters, or something.
With remasters they tend to just update the texture quality so everything still looks all blocky, it’s generally remakes where they modernise the graphics properly
yeah it's not even on xbox which is surprising considering how strong their back compat library is. Deffo a licensing issue as its hard to find anywhere
I recently emulated it and I dont remember it being so fucking hard! Idk if its cause when I was a kid I treated it more like GTA than doing the missions.
Wow, this was my kid's first console game and we played it to death on the Wii. I kind of love the charm of how janky it is, but would still probably play a remaster in a heartbeat!
Recently found it on an abandonware list and hooooly shit I forgot how genuinely great that game is. Only thing I would change are the camera controls as they did not hold up well lol but what a nostalgia blast.
If it was made by the people who made Crazy Taxi and/or with their permission then this is the correct answer. If not either then it deserves where it is, sued into hell for being a carbon copy of Crazy Taxi
Satisfying handling, beautiful and timeless visuals, tons of references to the golden age gags, many good original jokes, a decent story, and an exclusive itchy and scratchy episode. On top of it all, you can feel that the game was made by enthusiastic people who genuinely love this project and the Simpsons in general

Does the Simpsons Hit and Run count?
I would buy a remastered version in a heartbeat!
