Alex Mercer is on the run because he's patient zero of a new and terrifying virus. You consume infected and get new and incredible powers and armor including gliding (which eventually turns into flight basically. It's a lot of fun, maybe by today's standards with 0 nostalgia it might not live up but I'm still a fan after almost 20 years.
I never finished it back in the day, and now it instantly crashes on startup. Something something can’t handle CPUs with more than 4 cores. I tried every trick and suggestion I found online, can’t make it work.
Man Prototype was such a good game but dude, unless you were a gamer at a very specific time in a very specific demographic most people would have no idea what this is
They do, they only want blood money. AKA extorted microtransaction money. They don't want to be rewarded the money honestly, they want to find new and interesting ways to scam it out of you...
No. I want the original storyline. Number two was “ok” only because it was the same plot and gameplay with different character skins and a few additional abilities. If they’d overhauled it would have been straight trash. You don’t fix something that isn’t broken. That’s why sequels are shit 99.9% of the time.
Get almost everything from the original two. Improve and expand on combat, enemy types, modern graphics, mission variety, add some top tier music. Goty material.
You can even go wild and add some mutated survivors as a faction, evil company went good splinter etc. and do an open ending where you choose which faction gets on top. Or even make stealth an actual mechanic.
I don't remember why I tried it back then, because this wasn't the type of game I ever played before, but once I started, I got sucked in. So fun and interesting. I'd play it again, too.
Just replayed 1 and 2 last year and then marvels spider man 2 back to back to back and prototype holds up so well against spider man as an open world superhero simulator. Chef’s kiss
