Image / Video DLSS 5 on Switch 2 games with capture card
Hello,
I guess we get what Nintendo will never provider.
This is using a capture card to the PC from the Switch 2, using DLSS 5 Feeder and Alex Toolkit 1 Extreme pass, Default preset.
Stable 60 FPS on an RTX 5090, and with the motion vectors of Reshade, it's great in motion.
EDIT: first 2 images are Before / After, and the rest After / Before

What does DLSS have against colour also glad the switch 2 is incapable of running DLSS 5 natively

It really depends on the preset you use, some are more conservative of original style / colours , some less

If you’re interested, someone posted a bridge for use with comfyui, and it actually has placeholding parameters for all the different modes and inputs DLSS 5 has.
I don’t personally like it at all, but it is interesting to see what all the potential options there are. Unfortunately, it does not have lists for what values are expected (ie we can’t see what the different color modes there are, just that it’s an input parameter.

Will someone please fill me in on why everyone's so upset with how DLSS 5 looks in games that were never meant to support it?
What discussion even is there to have here? This is like putting a coat of interior house paint on your car, of course it's going to look like shit!

I think it's more people being generally upset that DLSS 5 looks like dogshit on everything, including the games it's meant to support.

I still don't get it though. It's a completely optional feature. Are we just complaining for the sake of complaining?
I absolutely despise motion blur, but I ain't turning it on in every game I own and shitting on it.

That's kind of what I've been wondering too, I just won't turn it on. People also complain just to complain, definitely, but I think in this case it's partially because it's an AI filter and people are super against AI slop (understandably).

How did you set it up ? With OBS?

It could work with OBS, but here I used the Avermedia streaming center tool

Cool! Didn't know they had a streaming center tool will download and try it out. By any chance you have a video guide or was this done by yourself? Because rn I tried doing the reshade method but unsure its possible to use it on streaming center or OBS

Of course Mario had a specific style to it, but you can get a more CGI look.
Metroid Prime 4 gets quite a big improvement.
Mario Kart World just a bit, game already is pretty clean natively.
I tested Pokémon Z-A, everything gets stylized except … the Pokémons, I guess the model doesn’t really know what to do with them except better lighting
Also tried Donkey Kong Bananza and it breaks too much the original clean style

I personally don't like it. It is very costly in a world, where a lot of games struggle to render their worlds without any kind of upscaling...
That said, I do enjoy these experiments. It clearly shows what to expect for the technology and where the limits are. Cartoony artstyles? Completely destroyed and plain terrible looking (Mario Galaxy looks like it got the PS3 Piss filter treatment of that era, which is funny because it is technically from that era) while some realistic games do look somewhat fine. I would not use it personally but I get a laugh out of it, which is something.

Yes stylized games are mostly a no go as the model is clearly not trained for it
