He's definitely the type of famous person to do that too if fans are asking for it and he has an interest in it. I wouldn't get too optimistic if I were someone who wants to see this happen though.
I'll pledge five bucks just to support a studio who created one of my favorite cult classics, but I'll be shocked if they get even close to their goal.
I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted because Keeper was genuinely a special game. You can beat it in a sitting but it’s a beautiful ride from start to finish
I was sick on the couch one day last year and just gave it a shot. One of the best experiences I had in gaming last year. GOTY worthy? Not really, but just really special.
Its my favorite game of all time. Now i am finally faced with a choice and I do not know what to do. Its been so long and things have changed, ive changed.

Most likely for the music licenses to be able to use metal and hard rock songs like they did for the first game. And yes that is 100% going to be were most of the cost ends up.
I appreciate what Double Fine does. They support their artist and make games that are very clever. Sadly, none of their games ever clicked with me but Brutal Legend, and even then I wish the second half that's all RTS was removed and was more just Eddie exploring the lands.
Let's be real though, Brutal Legend was a VERY expensive game for this team, the licensing alone probably ate 90% of the budget. $100 million sounds fair nowadays with all that would be involved to make a proper sequel.
Everyone here judging Double Fine over two sentences in a small-novella-sized Kickstarter for a game jam that's asking for 0.4% of that. It's clear that there's a market there, they already raised $324k and all of the $1k+ limited backer tiers are sold out.

As much as loved that game, it really doesn't feel like it needs a sequel. It's a game that is very "of it's time" and not sure how it would translate almost 20 years later.
Yeah... all those artists are gonna be expensive, and I imagine Jack Black coats a whole lot more now than he did when Brütal Legend 1 came out... back in 2009.
