Prob why they’ve been building bunkers.

I'll never get tired of saying this, just throw shit on the air vents of billionaire bunkers

u/Morganvegas 1d ago

More than likely they’ll have fantastic air scrubbers.

Fill em with concrete

Keep shitting. Shit is infinite, air scrubbers are not

Pipe in footage of an apocalyptic landscape ala silo so they stay inside forever.

You know... as long as they stay in their bunkers and stop causing issues for the rest of us, I'm actually pretty okay with it.

They've removed themselves, let's just concrete over the entrances / exits and move on.

What if they have a recycled air circulatory system, which I'm sure they do, a bunker taking in outside air isn't exactly a good bunker against radiation.

concrete the entrance

Especially the bunkers that are big enough to preserve a diverse amount of genetics. Why should civilization be preserved by wealthy people who made profits selling us great things? We should definitely smash their stuff to show them who the smart people really are.

Some days I think that it would be easier if I was dumb and evil because then I'd be rich overnight and not have to complain on reddit about the sky falling?

Fiction is interesting because it presents an unlikely tale told in a plausible manner. If you enjoy enough fiction between games, TV, music, books, movies, and online chatter, you could even become so immersed you'd actually lean into the fiction as "normal"?

So instead of how things really are, where it's hard to get rich and stay rich, you could just assume that all wealthy people are awful despite how that's totally inverted to reality where most people are smart/talented if they are wealthy?

I totally get it, even if it's kind of crazy.

You do know that publicly rimming the shit-stained asses of the wealthy isnt getting you in their bunker, right?

I'm an old fart.

When I was young the whole point was to do well in school, innovate in your field, become successful enough to start your own business, hire some people, start to branch out, eventually making a corporation due to your talents.

Nobody told me reddit would hate my guts if I did all that?

If you make yourself disproportionately wealthy off the backs of your employees while dodging taxes and not participating in society, then yeah you deserve to be hated.

If you make yourself disproportionately wealthy and use it for good, and pay your employees well, and pay your share of taxes and participate in society then yes, you did life correctly.

Unfortunately those people just don’t exist so fuck em.

Here's the thing, there's people with a singular goal/career of finding bad companies and exposing them?

It's not a common full-time job or anything, there's not enough bad companies to make it something that needs a large workforce, but this is a career for many people.

I think the employees deserve a fair wage, not a "fair share", as that would be really dumb. Like if I spend millions on bloated wages above market value I'm just driving similar businesses crazy because the staff are going to wonder why I pay so well and similar businesses cannot? Meanwhile I could have spent that excess money on building a new location that would create a lot of jobs, increasing the amount of people and total money I pay either way?

So many people look at what a company is worth, like what the land and the building, the branding, the contacts, the inventory, etc., and they say, "Oh yeah that company is worth billions, so it's a criminal shame they are laying people off right now!", when as it turns out the layoffs are needed because the company is badly in debt and would go under and lose all employees if they didn't layoff a few to save the rest?

Too often we assume malice when there's a long list of better explanations. That's just how it'd go in a fictional story so why not apply that to real life?

Ask a few competing AIs if "most businesses" are run by corrupt worthless people or is it the other way around, when you have a consensus, double check it?

All of those things are great if that's what makes you feel fulfilled, but not everyone wants to live that kind of life. People deserve to thrive and be happy doing things that don't impact anything outside of their friends and family if that's all they want to do.

Money isn't the only measure of a person and society would do well to quit kowtowing to those who preach the prosperity gospel.

Well that's the thing. When you leave a prosperous capitalist area and look at high density poverty the scenery changes. People build high walls and live inside secure compounds, not due to wildlife, due to the sort of people that live there.

The first time I did a trip to Cabo I was not surprised at how short the drive is to see slums and "compounds" all over the place just out of sight of the tourists, but not very far. The amount of police and guards packing loaded guns in plain sight was a real heads up in terms of how hard they were pushing back the locals who wanted to harass the tourists for a few bucks.

Cash is better than weighing gold/precious materials, which was better than trying to sort out the price of your chickens and grain everywhere you travel and need something to barter with.

Technically you should hate crypo to be current and precisely accurate as cash could fade out like chickens and silver cut into coins?

I think what you meant to say is that blindly desiring "wealth" can put a person in deep moral "debt"? It is far far better to be happy with what you can attain than hurt yourself chasing something impossible?

That's an easy point to agree on. The best wealthy people just reinvest it into what they know vs. spend it on themselves. It's a trait that scales, the less self interested you are the more people want to invest in you. To the point if you're willing to self-sabotage in a big way just to protect investments, people could make you the richest person on the planet?

Bunkers are like S-tier loot places in the post-apocalyptic world (if games like the fallout series have thought me anything).

Sorry Argies your chainsaw-wielding leader already sold your land to the techno nazios

9

u/Nollitoad 1d ago

sadly true

7

u/twoton1 1d ago

TECHNO NAZIS!!! So true!

-4

u/joanzen 21h ago

I love that argument that technology allows the people in power to monitor the people who are complaining.

Well actually if the people in power aren't listening to me complaining then they need more technology!?

The only way to have a truly successful socialist/communist country would be so much technology and surveillance that nobody can cheat the system and everyone can trust that the playing field is fair.

I was just working in a building where two residents pleaded with me not to report how bad the conditions are because they cannot afford to move if the building is renovated. They would rather live in really unsafe conditions instead of struggling to either find something cleaner, or even work with agencies to move them into a newer fixed rent building.

Sometimes you have to stop people and double check they understand what they are saying, because it sounds so crazy.

Another “zurdo” detected.

So the leftist previous government that allowed a China military base in Patagonia was “patriotic”.

The current government that created a law to prevent any foreign state to buy Argentina’s soil is “selling the land” 🙄

As Milei say: being a leftist is a mental illness 🤮

15

u/Nollitoad 1d ago

Milei tried to push a law that would allow any foreign person to buy unlimited land in Argentina. How is that patriotic?

16

u/SubjectInvestigator9 1d ago

Damn imagine defending pedophiles and thinking you have the moral ground.

1

u/sonambule 2h ago

Defending Milei just makes you look like a god damn fool.

Pretty sure he paid a hefty bribe to that tRUMPian guy running the country right now.

-79

u/micachito 1d ago

Argentines do not marched.
Dogmatic leftists marched. In fact they were less that 50 and their ideas get no more that 0,3% of the votes.

People that leech public money and have a lot of free time. Trouble makers.

28

u/Warm_Regrets157 1d ago

This happened over the weekend, so it has nothing to do with employment status or "people that leech public money".

Peter Thiel is the biggest leech of them all and Milieu is selling you out.

It's mind boggling that someone would take even a second out of their day to defend that psychopath. Is gargling Peter Thiel's sack your day job or something you do as a hobby?

-40

u/TopGunRules 1d ago

Who do you think has contributed more to society? Thiel or these protesters? Your answer will show how much of an unserious person you are.

13

u/sceadwian 1d ago

Thiel is a monster leacing the organizations he touches sick with authoritarianism.

He is a fucked up individual.

34

u/Warm_Regrets157 1d ago

Thiel has contributed to the downfall of democracy and the creation of a surveillance state.

Literally doing nothing would have been a more positive contribution to society.

Talk about being an unserious person.
