This is a long-playing video of the visuals during the entire CHAIN REACTION 3 concert that took place at Club SAW in Ottawa in the spring.
The visual artist is https://www.instagram.com/hard_science/ using a combination of LZX eurorack, some standalone video devices and mixers.
We ran the night like a DJ night but the music is all live electronics as well - elektron devices, a few laptops, a few modulars.. Artist set times are linked in the description.
If you're in the area follow us for more cool shows, next show this Thursday - https://www.instagram.com/catalyst.ottawa/

A new output from one of the experimental oscilloscopes I built in TouchDesigner throughout the past few years. Audio signal in, analog-style raw geometries out, all generated in real-time. Just plug your audio, and see the magic happen.
Part of a collection of 19 experimental oscilloscopes, available together as a single TouchDesigner project-file bundle through both Patreon, and Uisato Studio.

Made with various analog gear, internal feedback and mixers including the Videonics Mx-1 and using a car back up camera for the video feed. I’ve been very much enjoying the results of what these machines can do. Thanks for checking it out!

TLDR: Looking for Resolume effect and layering suggestions.
I did my very first " live show" on Saturday. I put it in quotation because it was less of a show and more of a mitzvah; I work for a company that does DJ setups for mitzvahs.
I didn't have any of my typical gear, but what I did have was Resolume. During setup I started playing around with effects, and I found some interesting stuff. When I showed it to my boss he asked to if I wanted to use some of it towards the end of the show during the party section. Once the party section started getting going and I started really getting into it, I found some very interesting and cool things.
The only issue I have is that I was very heavily relying on colorize and Kaleidoscope. So while everything I made was unique and interesting and I was able to layer them in unique and interesting ways, everything kind of vibed the same. Which worked in my benefit at the time, but it left me feeling like I was missing something. The thing that made the biggest difference was what footage I used as the starting point.
My question is does anyone here have experience with Resolume? If so, any tips and tricks or any interesting effect combinations I should know about? My boss was really impressed with my work and wants me to continue doing it for shows, so I want to get better at it and come up with more interesting things than just colorized kaleidoscopes.

because it really should be imo. if it's not already apparent that it will continue getting filled with slop (although it is usually the right type of aesthetic) it just destroys the art of what video synthesis has insinuated i.e. being a digital or analog setup enabling the effects to happen rather than just typing in a prompt and adding "glitch" to it
edit: this post is not meant to call out ai gen, it is moreso to call out it being shared in this sub which to my understanding and clearly many others was about digital or analog processes that disrupt the original data. there are COUNTLESS subs about ai art, so the intention of this post was to request that this not be made into a place where anything that qualifies as glitchy can be posted and that we instead stick to the roots of the group. lots of people asking good questions like "where is the line drawn" or linking pretty cool looking projects although semi-ai driven. that isn't what this post is about.
wasn't expecting this post to get any traction but i'm glad we're all having a solid discussion (except that one guy that popped off on me and then deleted his comment lol)

Made through an fx stack of databending, pixel-sorting passes, and chromatic aberration layering. The center glyphs are remnants of the original uncorrupted source before the signal degraded and got fed through my webapp, Ether-MOSH!
Create your own @ ether-mosh.online and share what u make here 🫶

I’ve been spending a lot of time experimenting with an AV rack I’ve built out of old broadcast and video equipment, and this is some of what I’ve been getting out of it.
Most of these images start with a video source that I run through analog mixers, processors, switchers, and other broadcast gear. I split and reroute signals, process them, and feed them back into themselves until the original image starts to fall apart into feedback, distortion, color shifts, and repetition.
Most of this isn’t added afterward in software—it’s actually happening to the video signal as it moves through the equipment. I eventually send it out to old CRT TVs and photograph the screen itself, adding another layer of flicker, scan lines, and distortion.
Basically, I’ve been treating obsolete AV equipment like a modular synthesizer, except I’m patching video instead of sound. A lot of the fun is not knowing exactly what’s going to happen until I start messing with the signal.

RustUp 1.98 may encounter segmentation faults upon building if you XMP overclock, but you can adjust BIOS preferences back afterwards. Otherwise everything should run well. MacOS users use Syphon instead of Spout - let me know if you encounter any Syphon/MacOS issues. All video is live. Other than collide-o-scope, Spout and OBS are being used (and Spout2 plug-in for OBS), these for the webcam and screen recording. Edit: Also ofc for live performances, any manner of audio inputs and midi control is available in the program and said audio can control every effect— tbh I didn’t lean into that aspect with the D.D. song, I just found it fitting for the flock theme. Let me know if you want any .yaml patches! Happy to send! 2nd edit: the freeze around 2:30 isnt cuz the loop started over, that is always seamless, I was switching patches but accidentally clicked the same one as was already opened. But if one were to prepare more than the quick demo, you can create a scene within collide-o-scope so no load or pause happens between patches.

This is the music video for my song “Washed” that just got released today. I have a rig I put together that runs an EYESY in a ATEM Mini and chroma keys out the greens to replace with a camera feeding back. I also use a Waaavepool to add trippy washes to it, and it’s run in a wet/dry way using the ATEM HDMI and webcam outs.
This video was edited together with 8 performance takes and a bunch of chroma and luma keying to achieve the look. Everything is being played through hardware gear, I didn’t use any software for this outside of editing. Let me know what you think!

One last example output from this experimental multi-source video player designed for frame-accurate video switching, playback manipulation, and display/render interventions, now with a few optimizations made for even better performance.
You can freely access the system + a detailed breakdown, through Patreon, and/or the Tools Store.
