Failed install of cinnamon

Post image

I installed void via the void installer and after it was finished i decided to install cinnamon. The script i followed was depthrushes cinnamon install script and after following the script and rebooting it didnt take me to the login screen. Instead, after rebooting i was met with a black screen and it wouldnt let me go to other screens using ctrl alt f3 or any other f key. Now im stuck at this screen where i can type but my commands arent registered. How do i revert this and how do i properly install cinnamon?

That's a community project on github, it is not endorsed by Void.

You need to ask the author for assistance...

Has activado el DM? Se activa como cualquier servicio: ln - s /etc/sv/lightdm /var/service Sustituye lightdm por el dm que uses. Puedes usar el usb con la ido para montar la partición con void y usar xchroot para entrar si no tienes otra forma de acceder al sistema

When I first started using Void I started out with Xfce and ended up using it for almost five years without much issue.

And least problematic of all DEs, I think...

Just a guess? They probably prefer Cinnamon to Xfce.

It's a wild concept for sure but people are going to like and use things that you yourself may not like or use. Having preferences is insane.

Having preferences? Sounds like they just love being wrong.

Then don't use Cinnamon. Why does other people using it concern you so much? Seems pretty weird. May I suggest finding a hobby instead?

My comment was satire. Not sure why you engaged.

Edit: I've used cinnamon plenty enough to know I prefer it to XFCE. I love XFCE, I love cinnamon more though. I don't like the design philosophy of XFCE. It feels dated. I understand it's lightweight, but that puts it in a niche use case scenario. Not a legitimate DE contender. Not to mention, it is the last maintained DE to move to Wayland. I'm excited for xfwl, and I'll be trying it out. Though, it's dated design and will probably not have me migrating full time. These are my non-sarcastic thoughts.

Edit 2: swaywm for life
