At the end of his letter, Vollmann told me the working titles of some upcoming projects. “Next books (if I live long enough): THREE DARK STORIES + HOME + LISA, A LOVE STORY. In haste, Bill.”
always something to be hopeful for! thanks for sharing

Do we know anything about this books at all? LISA, A LOVE STORY will be devastating.

Thank you for the archive link
A Lisa book would be amazing & devastating. When he wrote the four men piece & briefly mentioned her passing & home free situation in such brevity it was like he could not stop himself from spouting that info. But it reframed the whole piece. This was grief in cosplay or drag of journalism.
For someone who has major output three or four sentences on his daughter is glaringly brief

I might be misremembering but doesn’t Carbon Ideologies mention his daughter a lot? More a stand-in for our “responsibilities to do right for the next generation” and less about her story — but I think she’s in there a bunch.
