Here is the finished version of my industrial-inspired custom loop.

Following on from my last post, the CableMod PCIe cables finally arrived and I've made a few changes to the loop along the way. I'm really happy with how everything has come together, so I'm finally calling Jan'hammer finished.

Made some good progress the other night on my first liquid cooled build. Designed/ 3d printed a pump/res mount and got a good start on some of the bends. Very happy with how its turning out especially considering this is the very first attempt at using acrylic tubing.

Upgrade from Core 1 to MPII on non delidded 7900. No reinforcement backplate on back of the mobo.

Installed block first with .6nm torque, but temperature was 7c higher. Reinstalled block first with the same result, so tightened block with provided tool and got mobo crashed with CPU led error. If i loose screws mobo works, but temperatures not great. Tighten screws back result either immediate shutdown or crash after few minutes of benching.

Put Core1 back and benched for 2h plus with no errors.

Anybody experience or heard of something similar?

I finally got around to flushing this rig which has never been cleaned or flushed since i built it over 4 years ago.

It’s a custom hard loop with the mobo upside down and gpu mounted vertically in the back. I used EK-Cryofuel Indigo Violet for the first fill up in May 2022. it’s been the same liquid in there for 4+ years, working with zero issues and no build up. Idle temps for the gpu is consistently at 30° and 50° for cpu which is very acceptable for me.

But finally this year after realizing the reservoir was only filled up to the halfway mark, i decided to do a flush and clean with distilled water and add new clear coolant. There was basically no buildup whatsoever and after ~2 gallons of flushing with distilled water, all the color residue was gone. Didn’t dismantle or clean any of the blocks or rads.

just wanted to make this post to say that custom builds can be as low maintenance as AIO. I never once had issues with temps, buildup or discoloration. Basically you can probably get away with a minor 2 hour clean every 5 years.

Hi guys so i want to go more towards asthetics and noticed that some build use 4x ports on the gpu conecting it to cpu waterblock then again to the gpu waterblock . Does it make the loop more restrictove how does the water flow 2x thru gpu or like what how does that work . And does it even work with alphacool core blocks . Use the photo as refrence since there are 4 ports used on the gpu the photo is not mine ise it just as a reference to what i want to do since i saw that its possible

I have an ek water block and while cleaning noticed cracking. I already contacted ek and they where no help as they had no replacement parts i could order and did not offer any help in fix.

Any tips or advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.

Edit: i noticed the cracks before I began cleaning, only cleaned with dishsoap and water. Now only using clear coolant used a dyed one in the past.

Help me with tube routing. This project has taken me way too long. I finally have time to get it done. I’m using frosted PMMA. Custom cables to come after tube routes are finished. Order is pump res 1 (left) > pump res 2 > side rad > lower rad (tube run behind lower rad by ps shroud) > GPU > CPU > upper rad > repeat. I have a fill port that feeds both res. I also have 3 drains for maintenance, there is a hidden one on side rads lowest point.

Yeah, I have Male -> Female everywhere. Unacceptable. Now I must redo everything.

I have always wanted this MSI MEG Maestro 900R case to do some nice modifications and fit as many radiators as possible, and I knew when I saw the specs and size of this case that with some mods you can probably fit more than what MSI puts in paper. 

I was able to fit 2 EKWB X560M radiators on top and bottom instead of spec 420s (I removed the plastic shrouds), and I fit 2 EKWB P420M radiators on the sides instead of the 360s per the spec (I removed the side brackets and drilled holes to mount my 420s). 

I also wanted to keep my front of the case clean so added 2 TBE pumps on the back, added several interconnect fittings and drains for easier disassembly and maintenance in the future.

Overall I am very happy with my build and stuffed as much radiators and fans as possible, I ended up adding several 120mm fans on the back to help the side front 420s, and my top radiator has 8 fans for push/pull. Looking to enjoy some very silent gaming and workload with this new build.

Just finished last night, I will be testing my water temps soon under full load. I placed Aquacomputer High Flow Next sensors before GPU/CPU blocks and after, as well as an ambient sensor for nice thermal comparison’s.

A little disappointed with Koolance 702 Purple

Just finished some maintenance on my custom loop and gave everything a fresh refill.

I’ve always used Koolance 702 Clear and have been really happy with it, but this time I decided to try the Purple version for a change.

I have to say, I’m a little disappointed with the color. I was expecting a deeper, more vibrant purple, but it looks quite different from what I had in mind.
Nothing against the coolant itself ,I’ve been using Koolance 702 for years and really like it.

I just expected a bit more from the purple color.
Anyone else running 702 Purple? What do you think of the color?

I am in a bit of a pickle. I've decided to downgrade from my 2x Alphacool 560x86mm Monstas in my TT Tower900 to either one of the aforementioned radiators with the goal of having quieter fans and hopefully the same or lower water temps (atm I can only fit 7.5/8 fans on them cuz of clearance issues)

Right now my temps are 10-11c above ambient at ~925W load.

I've asked all the AIs and they tend to say to go with the Alphacool UT60 as lower Fins per Inch (FPI) is better for low RPM and thicker is often better. However I plan to run push-pull noctua G2 fans at sub-1000 RPM and there is this techpowerup review that says the EK outperforms the Alphacool at any RPM below 2000.

I would also prefer to get the EKs as they are cheaper and smaller which gives me more room.

Thoughts? Any what about combining one of each ?

Just wanted to share my experience with this product. Packaging is great and the finish of the block is nice, just one drawback, no instructions!

On the AliExpress page there is an exploded view of the installation, it is quite straightforward.

Regading temps, i have at the top of the case on XR7 360mm and at the bottom one XR5. Fans are P12 pro from Arctic locked at 1000rpm maximum, and the pump is a d5 at 50% rpm. My room temps vary from 26 to 30 😅 I wanted to use tpm7950 but did not find a reputable seller and finally used MX7. Will use that hpy17 Magic in the future

curious on what people will say as i need to swap out my current aio for a new one (as its 4 years old) and wanted to see what others will say
preferably some that are under ~$120 (i dont have that great of a budget)
i've been thinking about the liquid freezer iii pro but heard some rumors about it being not that great in the long run.

I finished my PC build around 2 months ago and I’m super happy with it. The only thing is that the AIO I have wasn’t the best and has had issues with bubbles, but no apparent performance issues, so I knew I was going to change it eventually when I had the money.
Lately, I’ve been really interested in custom water cooling and I have been watching a lot of videos about it, but I’m not sure I want to make the commitment of water cooling the GPU, but I really want to water cool the CPU atleast to get a feel of how to make my own loop and stuff.

Note : my system has a 9800x3d rx 9070xt

It's been nearly 10 years since I built the original version of this PC and posted it here. I was getting the itch to upgrade but parts are way too expensive for my liking, so I decided just to do some visual updates and keep the original parts since the hardware is good enough for what I use it for.

The biggest upgrades were swapping out the fans to the Lian Li TL Flex and mounting the GPU vertically to expose this beautiful water block that I never got to see over the past years. I did not trust vertical mount GPUs back in 2016 but they have seem to have gotten a lot more reliable when they got more popular. I decided to use acrylic for the tubes this time instead of PETG like last time and they take a ton more heat to bend. I started to regret getting acrylic during the bending but I practiced and got the hang of it. The GPU to CPU bend was by far the most difficult.

The coolant is the OG Mayhems v1 Pastel Blue. I've had a bottle sitting in my closet for probably 9 years and it seemed to be in perfect condition, so I threw it in and I'll see if there's any problems down the line but I doubt there will be. I had the same coolant in it before I did the upgrades and it was in there for about 7 years with no fallout. There was minimal staining on the blocks or tubes. Really lucked out getting it when I did cause this stuff is legendary.

This is my first build and I realized that the flow indicator spins significantly slower than before after changing my GPU and having some issues with the refilling (might ran dry for a short while do to a trapped air bubble).

Pump is Alphacool Laing DDC310 and I use 16/10 soft tubes.

Hoses run straight, but I also had to (temporarily?) use 3x 90 degree connectors before the flow indicator as a workaround since suitable parts are not readily available around here.

Moreover, any recommendation on an electronic flow meter in a similar size (needs to be small due to SFF) that provides objective numbers rather than a spinning wheel of fortune?

Thanks in advance for your precious time. I am happy for every estimation as I would like to avoid randomly ordering a pump.

I air pressure tested this loop multiple times for hours and had no issues. This is the second time this piece has burst out of the fitting and sprayed coolant everywhere. I’m at a loss right now, strongly considering just going back to my AIO and air cooling the gpu. If anybody has any ideas on what I could do to fix this let me know. I’m just done with it at this point.

Edit: I only have it pushed in like that so nothing else leaks, I know it’s not properly seated right now

So today I finally got around to installing the front mesh kit on my O11 Dynamic RGB. I’ve had the kit and the fans sitting there for over 6 months and just never got round to fitting them until today.

All I can say is… I wish I’d done it sooner.

The Lian Li LCD fans add so much to the overall aesthetic, and from where I sit at my desk I get a perfect view of the LCD screens, which looks awesome.
My system has never really struggled with temperatures, but I’m going to run a few tests over the next couple of days to see if the extra airflow makes any noticeable difference.

Overall, I’m really happy with this little upgrade. Now I just need to resist the urge to replace all my fans with LCD ones… this hobby is expensive. 😂

Hey everyone, I've heard the D5 isn't supposed to be the quietest pump. Can anyone say from experience whether the Alphacool VPP Apex Pump is actually quieter?
Am I right that the MO-RA Tank gets screwed straight onto the sheet metal without any decoupling? Are there maybe some simple mods for that? I'm hoping one pump will be enough for me so my radiator can sit next to my height-adjustable desk.
It's getting expensive enough as it is at around €1000 haha

What coolant are you all using? So far I've been using distilled water + Innovatek Protect IP concentrate, but I've seen that distilled water shouldn't be used anymore? Do you use mesh filters in your loops?

I currently have a be quiet! Straight Power 11 750W Modular 80+ Gold and I've seen there are replacement cables that have 2x 6/8-pin instead of just one. Do you think that's safe to use in terms of the rail capacity? My system has an RTX 3080 Ti that needs 3x 8-pin and a Ryzen 5700X3D. I'd rather not buy a whole new PSU right away for another €300.

Tubes keeps yellowing which its known to do even before i had it in storage. But my cpu block has some green on it so I'm wondering what it could be.
