Discussion This agonizing story has finally ended I gotta say he is the most annoying ml; she is the least likable fl ever.. (i’ll give you the most rotten one)

These two never had a happy day btw. He loves her to death, and her feelings?? I am not sure. He is a doormat always ready to serve her even though his feelings are never equally reciprocated..

Spoiler
Why hide his child from him? How dare you lol. He is willing to be a dotting husband and dad after everything you put him through and you reject him to be a single mom voluntarily?
She is sooo unlikable sorry. Her reasoning would be “it’s bc i hurt him when he is with me 🥺” girl fu lol

It's just too melodramatic for me. I love drama and everything but the characters made such stupid desicions and that detective really pissed me off.

People see toxic characters and immediately assume the story is well written and enjoyable. Neither the outcome nor the relationship had serve anything profound other than reminding that the sex crimes aren’t taken seriously and victims are failed by the justice system

Yeah, plot seemed direction less.

And he is pushy… regardless of her reasoning she is telling you to move on yet you stalk her… she is wrong for hiding their kid from him though, imagine growing up without a dad bc your mom doesn’t want him anymore

Nah mann, FL stayed annoying till the last side story chapter, like why she hide a child from him. Bro's simply a spineless to still accept her even after all the bs she put him through.

I loved reading this because I love how stressful and chaotic their relationship was. Like oh my god, can anyone be more toxic? 😆😭

Webtoon readers when a story is well written and has actually flawed and complex characters:

You think people enjoy characters because they are bubbly and unrealistic? She is not complex infact she is easy to predict lol. Her motives and actions always aligned throughout the story. Apart from the mystery “who she killed” this story doesn’t serve anything beyond. A toxic couple stays toxic till the end. None of their reasons to stay in the relationship is satisfying which i couldd not label it as well written. Drama bait imo. But i respect your taste

Okay I haven’t read this webtoon and I have zero stake in it but this reads like you’ve misunderstood what a complex character entails. Complexity does not equal unpredictability. Motives and actions aligning are a signifier that the character is consistent, which is a completely separate thing from complexity. If anything it sounds like she’s a static character, which also doesn’t necessarily indicate that she’s *not* a complex character, it just means she ultimately doesn’t change throughout the story. Which is fine, those types of characters are not for everyone, and not every author can pull off that kind of character. Maybe this author did not quite pull it off.

Yes.

Fl’s character isn’t realistic either, how many people do schemes to kill their mother and make her colleague get fired? I think another reason why people love this fl is that she is taking revenges that satisfy people

She is a complex character. Everything about her makes perfect sense. If she's "predictable", that's literally a sign of good writing, you're supposed to be able to understand a character's motives.

She was already insecure and had abandonment issues because of her family trauma and her ex-boyfriend, she was slowly starting to overcome those through her loving bf and then boom, he cheated and broke that trust immediately. Now, we know he didn't actually cheat, but that's what she believed. All of her actions going forward are ugly but they make sense. She doesn't truly want to push him away and wants to believe they both can change but she's been hurt way too many times to trust that.

And the ML is not a doormat or a cuck, he's a people pleaser who craves external validation but is dating the person who never gives that to him. Both of them develop a lot throughout the story.

I agree. Everything you said is why I’m enjoying reading the story. Haven’t quite finished it yet, but looking forward to it.

Predictability is not a sign of good writing in every case. A lot of the time, the predictability should also come with a level of complexity. From what I have gathered, she is just a cliche and that is okay. Some people like that

...except my whole point is that she's not cliche? "From what I have gathered" from the webtoon itself or from the comments on this post?

No wiser words I have read today... Authors put a lot of effort to write complex, realistic, and imperfect characters instead of perfect OP cardboard dolls.

If you think ml has realistic reaction & character throughout the series then I don't know what to even say

2

u/thegreatkedi 3h ago

For reallll. There is literally no man in this world who would put up all the shit ml had gone through lol especially if their gf slept with someone out of pettiness. Men dont even stay in healthy relationships

1

u/ParkingMongoose1716 2h ago

bro what are you even saying 😭.... there's almost no man so good who put up with alll this....

Why is complexity has to be in the form of cheating?? Can't they make an complex fl character without them making her cheater & ml a cuck. Literally any mature josei story with "complex" you're talking about has fl fuck around & still get accepted by cuck Ml's. This ml is also one of those, literally deserved better but alas.

2

u/tomdata 6h ago

That's such a one dimensional way to view this story, which is exactly why you're proving my point. And plus, are we forgetting that she thought the ML cheated on her first during that time? It wasn't until later that they both found out he didn't actually cheat. The situation is far too nuanced to just dumb her down to a cheater and him a "cuck"

1

u/Expensive_Ground7926 4h ago

My nigga are we justifying her cheating because she THOUGHT HE DID?? PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP 😭😭

1

u/tomdata 3h ago

You people are truly proving my point, media literacy is absolutely dead 😭 of course any time you explain anything you're justifying it, god please grow up. This is actually embarrassing

1

u/Expensive_Ground7926 3h ago

What point are you saying that’s being proven? You told us she cheated on him because she THOUGHT he did, no physical proof or anything, she just went up and did it. In fact, your proving MY point that you consume anything and think your such an advance reader when your not, your just consuming slop 😭

Apparently a character not behaving like 100s of character out there or simply having a sad backstory or crying every 2 chapter is what makes them a "complex character"? Just because she is different from other fl's doesn't make her complex.✌️. Just say she's unique from FL's out there.

u/tomdata 5h ago

Just because you have no media literacy and cannot analyse a character beyond what's on the surface does not make them a bad character

0

u/No-Laugh1607 3h ago

I think you are throwing the word media literacy incorrectly here. People hating her motivation and classing it as insubstantial does not mean they do not have media literacy

2

u/tomdata 3h ago

No I'm not. If you're criticising writing, you have to actually understand it. Most of the comments here are saying she's badly written because she cheated or because she's too cruel and whatnot... this is a classic case of people just straight up not bothering to look beyond the surface, and that is not the fault of the author's.

0

u/No-Laugh1607 2h ago

From what I have gathered, it is because the writing about her cheating did not have any dept to it and was just a cliche plot device in the trope she is in. This is the same way we have a hundred and one ML’s who cheat without any serious complexity or repercussions. The ones who do not really change or admit that they were wrong, not because it is some part of their layered personality, but, because it feels too lazy to think outside the box. I did not finish reading it, but her motivations as a character seemed subpar, poor written and not properly expanded upon. There was nothing underneath. But, it could just be because I am not really a fan of unnecessary misunderstandings as a plot device. 🥲

1

u/tomdata 2h ago

I'm sorry but... this is exactly what I mean. No effort to understand or analyse the story at all. I genuinely do not see how you can read this webtoon and think "oh yeah she just cheated for no reason" like... what? I'm gonna choose to believe you're lying about reading the webtoon because that is an utterly baffling take. She even explains her motivations in her internal monologue. She has a backstory, she has multiple internal monologues about her psychology, and if you somehow think that she has no depth or layers (which even the people complaining here don't think), either you genuinely have no media literacy like I said, or more likely, you didn't actually read the webtoon. Which is especially obvious when your comments are so vague and don't actually reference anything from the story aside from what others have mentioned in this thread. If you have read it... like I said, your own failure to understand things that the story literally outright tells you is not the fault of the author.

Truly girl truly..like how can her reasoning be so trash..the authors be writing anything these days ...and some people would call this utter bullshit realistic like damn crazy..

5

u/tomdata 10h ago

You people truly lack media literacy omg

1

u/ParkingMongoose1716 2h ago

sure bro media literally it is now

I think the complete opposite. I think they are a fantastic couple since their kind of crazy matches very well. No one is really a victim or a doormat in this relationship and I like that. Is it dramatic? Yes. But I hate most of the very popular picks from this community because everything is so sanitized. I love them and I do think the story is well written. I wonder what kind of stories you like?
