Solved! Found in my husband’s pocket. Dime for scale. He goes thrifting a lot, but has no recollection of putting anything other than loose change in pocket.
We cant figure out what it’s from. I think it looks like a component to a USB or computer part.
Edit: solved - we think it came off one of the new $250 car fobs we had made recently (we haven’t taken either apart yet to confirm but both fobs still work). Thank you to all who helped! Lot of great guesses, funny folks out there, we appreciate the funny folks! Cheers!

Electrical Contact Points come in a zillion different sizes and shapes. It could easily be one of those that fell off of something, it would be extremely hard to figure out what without looking through all of your stuff.

Proceeds to not add "Solved!" anywhere but thanks you for your response. As a Minnesotan since birth, I recognize this to be a possible passive aggressive statement. Although since it was typed I could have the context completely wrong.
Speaking of misconstruing the context of an electronically written statement, my mom tends to infer any text I send her to be typed in anger or sarcasm. She doesn't often have positive things to say and I believe how she interprets my texts to be a simptom of that negativity.
Anyway, WTF was I talking about?

u/StorellaDeville 17h ago
Perhaps your mother believes or understands that hostility / aggression could be appropriate responses to her behavior. Maybe? Or at least likely, if not appropriate. :-)

u/beaudesign 17h ago
People read written statements in their own voice, even when we imagine someone else’s voice, I think that’s our brains mimicking that person’s voice using our own. I digress, basically when a person reads a written statement, they thrust their own image of what the writer is, or (here’s the catch) SHOULD be feeling when they wrote it. She thinks that other people are being sarcastic with her because she was either trained to expect that from parents or siblings or partners, or she is just a sarcastic person herself due to the fact that she is living in America. Argue all you want but Sarcasm is more prevalent in The United States than any other country or social groups. We are used to it and we expect it. It is used as an “ice breaker” or just a way of bringing humor to life. The reality is much sadder. Moms are not likely to learn new tricks depending on how long they have been around. Sometimes you just have to throw in the occasional emoji to steal her in the correct direction, or meet her at her level and just give her a call. After all, it’s really what she wants anyway.

u/Beneficial_Potato_85 17h ago
Very good points. I see it the same as someone who thinks people are usually lieing to them for no specific reason. I feel they think that way of others because that's what they would be doing if they were the other person. Even if there is no reason for the lie in the first place.
I'll use my mother as another example. I was gifted a not at all valuable classic car from my godfather. It's been in the family since new in 1972. I kept it at my parents farm and didn't put money into like I planned yet. I don't remember the reason given but my mom wanted to have it titled in her name instead of mine. I agreed because I was verbally promised I could still work on and drive it as I saw fit. My mother has not let me do either of those things besides one time when I fixed where the vinyl roof needed some light repairs I was more than capable of. When it wasn't done quickly enough at first I caught hell. I eventually confronted her about the agreement she made with me when I signed her over the title and the first words out of her mouth were calling me a liar. I have never heard her call anyone a liar so bluntly. I can't say I've never lied to my mother, but it's never been to make some kind of false accusation like she is claiming. I didn't ask for any money for the car, which I very much love. It doesn't make any sense that I would just gift it to her and not want to work on or drive it. Anyway, she knew she was lying but just deflected it onto me. Liars think others are always lying to them, untrustworthy people don't trust anyone and idiots will call other stupid. I still can't believe my mom lied right to my face and how quickly she did it. To this day if I even mention it she will ignore me for months and not invite me to any family gatherings like Thanksgiving or Christmas.
That was way too long.

u/dearboy05 9h ago
If she was that confident in her lie, I would wager she's convinced of it, herself. It's in her name, let it rot. Tell others what she did. Don't let her drag your name through the mud behind your back. And, if you want to be at the gatherings, find out from someone else when they will be, and go. She doesn't own you.
2
u/Mobile-Horse6031 6h ago
Why you let her put it in her name was not responsible of you. You did basically gift it. Avoid awful people even if they are related.

Based on its microscopic size and the distinct central cross with four raised dots (pellets) in the quadrants, this object resembles a historic silver tare (also known as a taram or tara) from the Malabar Coast of southern India. The pattern shown is characteristic of the stylized cross design found on the reverse side of various fractional medieval and pre-colonial South Indian coins, such as those minted in Calicut (Kozhikode), Cochin, or under the Vijayanagara Empire. The four dots in the corners are traditional numismatic pellets used to fill out the quarters of a cross design. These tiny silver pieces typically measure only 3 to 4 millimeters in diameter and weigh a mere 1 to 2 grains (less than 0.1 grams). Placed next to a U.S. dime—which has a diameter of 17.91 millimeters—the scaling perfectly aligns with these microscopic proportions.
