So firsti changed the number of using and then i deleted the app so i can log in my first number and when i loged in instead of loading backup i made a new one and whatsapp only looks at the most recent one, on icloud i still have backup, how to fix?

WhatsApp has been incredibly difficult when changing my number and Im so lost at what to do. 3 years ago I changed my number as I was studying in the UK and had no issues then! I recently returned to my home country, i don’t have access to my UK number anymore and I cannot for the life of me get WhatsApp to send me a code to my number either through SMS or voice call. When the SMS option fails I select try again through voice call, but I never receive a call and just get the above message. I never lost access to my original phone number from my home country, and even contacted my provider to see if there was any issues on my end but nope! Support is utterly useless so here I am 🫠 Anyone have any insight? Or should I just create a new account and delete this one tied to my old UK number? Thanks all!!

due to travels in South America, in frequently contact new numbers via WhatsApp. As WhatsApp is my absolute main form of communication towards hostel as well as family back home, I find myself in an absolute nightmare situation.

I can't vent contact one new number, before my account is going into review. This last around 10h before I'm able to get back into my account.

Does anyone have a appropriate longterm solution for this problem?

I had previously linked it, but I removed it from WhatsApp (using the same number) for certain reasons. However, when I try to link it again, it doesn't work, and I get a notification saying "WhatsApp account limit exceeded" and "You cannot have more than 1 WhatsApp account in the same Accounts Center. Manage the accounts in this Accounts Center at any time in Settings." I don't understand how to do this—can anyone help me? (I tried Googling how to do it, but that didn't help much.)

I was adding a new contact. I was a silly person and put my own phone number down instead of theirs. This changed my [Your phone Number] (You) chat to display their name. I've since then properly added them as a contact, but how do I get it back to showing something like "(123) 456-7890 (You)" instead of "[That Person's Name] (You)"? Am using an Android S9

I’m trying to understand something strange happening with my WhatsApp account.

I use WhatsApp on my phone and I do not own or use a Mac/iMac. A few days ago I noticed a Safari on macOS session under Linked Devices, with the location showing North Holland.

Immediately logged out of all linked devices. My two-step verification is enabled, and my phone is always with me. Nobody else has physical access to my phone.

However, the Safari/macOS session has appeared again after I logged everything out.

I have not received any unexpected WhatsApp verification codes or messages, and I have not knowingly linked WhatsApp Web/Desktop.
Could this be a WhatsApp bug or inaccurate device/location information, or is there another way a Safari/macOS session could be created without someone having physical access to my phone?

Also, can simply answering a WhatsApp call somehow authorize or create a linked device? I’m trying to rule out every possibility.
I’d appreciate any explanations from people familiar with WhatsApp Web/linked devices.

Long story short,

I lost all access to my data including a decade worth of whatsapps from my S24 Ultra. I don't have the google drive copy backup.

However, I do have a host of backups on my old hard drive from my old S21. These are like 470mb and are any hope I have of getting my old whatsapps. Am i truly screwed?

What is the best and most reliable method or software to transfer almost 100 GB of WhatsApp data from an old iPhone to a new iPhone? Wondershare? iCarephone Transfer? iMazing?
(I also don’t wanna get banned by WhatsApp at any cost)

I’m hoping someone here with experience with WhatsApp’s iOS backup/database system can help. This is not the usual WhatsApp iCloud Chat Backup problem.

I moved from an old iPhone to a new iPhone. My WhatsApp history is roughly 65GB and goes back many years.

My WhatsApp-managed iCloud Chat Backup is unfortunately gone, BUT I still have a full iPhone iCloud device backup from the old phone containing the WhatsApp application data.

Here’s what I’ve established:
- Restoring that full iPhone backup onto the new iPhone results in ~65GB being attributed to WhatsApp in iPhone Storage before I even launch WhatsApp.
- I restored it again and deliberately did not open WhatsApp.
- I then created an encrypted local Finder backup of that restored iPhone.
- I opened that Finder backup using Reincubate/iPhone Backup Extractor. It can see net.whatsapp.WhatsApp.shared and the actual ChatStorage.sqlite database. Reincubate successfully parses 455,764 WhatsApp messages.

The problem is what happens when WhatsApp itself is activated.

On a previous full-device restore, the ~65GB WhatsApp data was present on the phone, but after opening/registering WhatsApp it only surfaced around 1.4GB and showed a small selection of old 2023/24 chats instead of the intact current database.

I therefore currently have WhatsApp unopened on the newly restored iPhone, plus an encrypted Finder backup preserving the intact state. I don’t want to initialize it again until I understand what WhatsApp is doing.

Has anyone successfully restored a complete WhatsApp installation through an encrypted Finder/iTunes device backup?

Curious if anyone has experienced the same, and if there is a resolution.
Twice today, alone. I have 3 of 4 devices linked, and it just logs out my two other users. Frustrating as we use this for..you guess...business.

I've upgraded the plan now for up to 6 devices, thinking maybe paying them money will stop it, but I kind of doubt it.

Hi everyone, I’m writing from Argentina. I’m having a big problem with WhatsApp and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced something similar or found a solution.

I use WhatsApp every day for work and to stay in touch with my family. Over the past 15 days, my account has been put under “review” out of the blue three times. Each time, after a few hours, they reinstated it because I don’t violate any terms: no modified apps, no spam, and no unusual automations. But false positives keep happening.

The real problem started yesterday: after getting my account back following the last review on Sunday night, they’ve suspended it once again, and now I have to verify my number all over again. But this time, the verification codes just aren’t coming through. I’m not receiving any SMS messages (though I didn’t receive them on the other two occasions either), and the phone call option is now completely disabled (in previous reviews, the call option worked, but it no longer does).

To make matters worse, every time I try, the wait time gets longer; just today it reached up to 12 hours.

Here are some things I've already checked:

• My phone line is working perfectly. I can receive regular text messages, make calls, use mobile data, and I even tried receiving a verification code from Facebook—it arrived instantly.
• I’ve tried restarting the device, clearing the cache, using mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, turning off spam filters, and now I’ve uninstalled the app to let it “rest” for several hours without touching it.
• WhatsApp’s support service only responds with automated bot messages that are completely useless.

Has anyone else found themselves in this situation? How can I fix this?

Hi, I’m having a strange problem with my WhatsApp account.

Someone keeps trying to register my number, and I repeatedly receive verification codes that I never requested. The codes come in different languages. I have never shared any code with anyone.

I already have two-step verification, a linked email, and a passkey enabled, and I still have full access to my SIM and account.

I haven’t been logged out yet, but I’m worried because I’ve seen people with the same issue eventually get logged out.

Has anyone experienced this exact situation? How did you solve it, and were you able to prevent being logged out?

The basic idea is:

One private place for your conversations, photos, videos and files — instead of using one app for messaging and another service for private cloud storage.

But I'm genuinely questioning whether this makes sense.

WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Proton and others already exist. So why would someone install another app?

Would you actually use XMO?

Would an encrypted cloud built into your messenger be genuinely useful?

Old phone: Android 5
New phone: Android 9 (well not really new but a relative gave me so that I can continue to use Whatsapp)

I've backed up the chat history (including a few pictures and a video) to Google Drive and the total size is only 25MB. How to safely move to the new phone? Can I just insert the SIM card to new phone, login my Google account, install Whatsapp, then it will automatically download the chat from Google Drive and that's it? What's the usual method?

Last week when I sent a message, the other person received but many of the messages I didn't received. At the same time, I started to be added to weird groups. Even I can't receive calls and I the other person don't receive my call. It's weird because the two flags appears as sent and the calls says ringing. What's happening????
