Thankfully my parents were careful enough with me online that I didn’t talk to a lot of internet strangers as a kid, unfortunately a lot of unresolved problems from grade school made it so I can’t really even try as an adult.

Suicide baiting is a form of manipulation, and a pretty obvious one at that. It's generally advised to get away from them because it's not gonna stop and in fact get worse, especially if its over things like not messaging them. You'll get better friends :3
I've never done this, but in high school I constantly vented ad nauseum all of my anxieties and trauma about school and my parents to these two friends, and they eventually became sick of me. I became so reliant on these two friends in a school where I felt so isolated, and it just pissed them off. I felt destroyed when our friendship ended, I don't think I've ever been in such a deep depression as that.
I realized that I need to have an outlet for all of my feelings and that I can't solely rely on those close to me. While friends are good to talk to when you're really in the shit, I've kinda learned that they aren't equipped to deal with constant conservations about how I feel useless, and like a loser.
When I was young, there was a guy (now Trans but I'm saying guy cause this was prior to that disvovery) who would continuously suicide bait me and my friends if we didn't give him the mod role on our discord server. This was middle to high school, we just had a server for school stuff, mainly for homework help and makinh plans, or group calls for study sessions, but this dude was super heavily in love with an Asian girl in our class. So mush so that he tried to convince her boyfriend to die so he could swoop in and date her instead. Me and my friend eventually just banned him and he threw a bitch fit, threatening to show up at our houses, only for us ro remind him that he doesn't know where we live. After that he got bullied a lot for being a weird incel and stalker, one time trying to assault me, only for me to slip him, and then everyone watching as he fell, hit the floor, and jiggled. Almost ten years later, he is now a she, and is doing so much better, genuinely proud of her now, she reached out and apologized for all the bullshit, admitting she absolutely deserved the bullying because she was acting like such a piece of shit. So somehow there was a happy ending

Still kinda miss the place, I had my own little corner with a few of the friends I found there and it was fun, even if leaving our community was a gamble between legit hacker cult, kindergarten nazi party and groomer groolette.
Essentially, this scene happens if you take a very specific set of actions through the game which the community has named the “weird route”. Long story short, you can put Noelle under a trance in chapter 2, allowing her to do whatever you tell her to do, even if it should be impossible. After a chapter of ensuring and finalizing this trance, she completely falls off into the deep end and decides she wants to carve out her own destiny with your help. She does this by asking you to command her to cross the lake, as your command allows her to do the impossible. The way this scene plays out seems to implicate that every time you tell her to proceed deeper into the lake, you both somehow genuinely stave off drowning. (Weird Route spoilers)
my prediction for the next two chapters weird routes is in chapter 6 its just one long uninterrupted shot of kris and noelle's corpses at the bottom of the lake for like an hour and then in chapter 7 the voice that took away the vessel last time finally relents and lets you have it back but uh oh since it was just chilling in the void for upwards of 8 years it just has the mind of a mentally stunted 8 year old so now you have to deal with that

It was this social media app but the gimmick was being like a combo of discord and a regular social media platform like twitter or instagram- having mini social media platforms inside it that were focused on one thing or topic (like discord servers). Those were called Aminos.
Apparently it’s not a completely new thing, I think Mastodon does essentially the same thing but Amino was targeted at young teens as like baby’s first social media platform. Colorful and easy to navigate UI and you could go to the different types of specific aminos for whatever topic you were interested in (art, specific videogames, tv shows etc).
Thing is moderation was dogshit (it used Reddit’s model I think but those mods were mostly pre teens for specific aminos but nothing for private DMs) and with a bunch of kids on it of course it attracted groomers
I knew a guy who did this like twice trying to bait nudes from a girl until my friend who was closer to the situation just flat out said “people who are actually suicidal don’t creep like this”
I’ve unfortunately been in this position. It really messed me up mentally trying to care for the mental health of online “friends” that were older and should have been more reasonable
When I was 15 I joined a Minecraft server's discord and got really close with a lot of the people there. Mostly people my around my age, some older some younger. Joined the moderation team, then one of the head mods confided in me that she wanted to kill herself. She was in her mid thirties, and she knew I was 15. Had to talk her down a few times before I eventually just said "girl I am fifteen go to fucking therapy" and ghosted her. I wasn't active very much in that server afterwards.
I have ONE friend in the friend groupchat i'm in that thinks about killing herself at least once a month, but it's actually understandable bc of the shi**y country she live in (cuba)
A guy I played an online game with did this shit to me when I was too young (I think 14-15) to know how I was being manipulated. He was imminently suicidal, and I basically offered to be his girlfriend if he wouldn't kill himself, since that seemed to be his main issue. After a month of us online "dating", his "friend" logged on to his account to tell me he'd killed himself. I was fucking DEVASTATED. Like crying so hard I threw up. The next day, my "boyfriend" logs in and tells me his friend was playing a prank, and omg he was sooo mad at him! This was purely online, back before the days when we knew better than to believe anyone. It didn't take much for me to figure out there was no friend, and finally just block him.

Fuck man. I've had exactly two people I once called friends in my life try pulling this shit on me. Both times it mentally destroyed me for years even after I finally was able to break free from the situation both times and cut all ties from them. I geniunely believe both times contributed to me becoming less joyful overall. Everytime I think im finally healing and moving on from it, something always pulls me back to remembering somehow.
