I was a part of the American Imperial War Machine and thats how it was referred to and the habit kind of stuck around. I didn’t think too hard about it, but I use whatever pronouns people prefer.

EDIT: a part

I was apart of the American Imperial War Machine

So you weren't part of it?

No, that was an error on my part. It’s supposed to say “a part”. I figured people would understand what I meant based on the context, but I see I was making further mistakes.

Same, buddy. The egg on my face learning that's just not how it really works. Some habits die hard.

apart

In general, you may not be using English so precisely there mate, so let's not get held up and insist on using terminology that bothers people.

What terminology bothers people and who’s getting held up?

If you do say "There's a female outside to see you," people would be bothered by that.

Honestly though, if you use it as an adjective most people aren't bothered. It's if you use it as a noun that tends to be the worst.

Ah I see. I mostly use it as an adjective now that I think about it.
