In Italian it's spelled (spelt?) Monna, as a corruption/contration of "madonna" (literally milady).
I'm not sure where the use if mona in English comes from, although I assume it's related to the fact English doesn't double up consonants in the way Italian does
Double consonants in English is inconsistent. Monna would almost certainly be 'Mon' as in Monster, 'Na' as in 'Nah I dont think thats a great name'. Mona Lisa is always said as 'moan-ah'. But a lot of our double-consonant words would be said the same way if you removed one of them, or added one. E.g. Rabbit - Rabit, Or Rabid-Rabbid even.
Interestingly the Italian word Nonna exists in English (we nicked it, like many of our words) but is not always said the Italian way.
I do know of all the other pretty meanings in other languages, but i mean italy is pretty close and important to me, especially the Northeast, so this name won't work out for me..

Consider that there Is also a double meaning.
Like, yeah, la mona refers to a girl's cunt, but at the same time people Say "we, bea mona" to Say "what a beautiful girl".
It's quite the femine term, if you think about It.
fiy mona is mostly used with the meaning of “idiot” or in the expression “va in mona” = “go fuck yourself”, but even then the veneto dialect is very tonal in its accent and closed O if you say Mona with a standard italian pronunciation not many people would actually connect it to that meaning even in veneto. you can also pronounce it with a open o like monica to rid any doubt, keep the name if you like it :)
Depends on the region, but in most of them mona is a completely normal name. I think that the cat of someone I know is called mona. Maybe I'm confusing with the cap from persona tho

Nah it's only in one dialect, in the rest of the country nobody uses it. So unless you plan on going to live in veneto (don't) I think you can go by that name

Oh and another thing, finding a name that dosen't mean someting bad in italian is almost impossible since almost every city and village has their on dialet
If you dont live in/near italian speaking people or plan to travel there regularily, why tf should you care? Propably half of all names sound weird or are some innuendo or insult in some languange, given there are thousands of languages on this planet.
We've got so many dialects, each one with its own words that mean "Cunt" or "Cock" there's a good chance any italian sounding word can be translated into that meaning, somewhere along the peninsula.

I don't know a single word in either Mongolian or Chinese (Japanese didn't fit my idea, but I also can't say I know Japanese either way, just a few words) so I just rummaged around my imagination and came up with the name "Qian Mei", which I loved because it sounded really nice.
It turn out it means something like "moneyless" in Chinese, which in theory could fit nomad tribes, but even so... 🤦🏻♀️😅

Yes it’s a literal translation. That said, it could be used like a nickname or something but connotation would require context whether it is something affectionate/disparaging.
