Hi everyone!!! I'm a ski instructor hoping to make the move to Whistler this season. I interviewed with WB early last week and thought the interview went pretty well however I haven't yet received an offer letter. I've gotten another offer from another ski resort in AB and am a bit anxious to accept the offer given that I haven't yet heard from WB. I also know that I won't be able to apply for staff accom until I get an offer so that makes me doubly anxious!

For those of you that interviewed with the WB ski school, how long did it take you to hear back? After you got the offer, how long afterwards did you find out whether you got staff accom?

Whistler or bust?

Thinking about going full YOLO at 46 and cashing out basically all of my savings to buy a condo/apartment in Whistler.

I'd be wiping myself out financially and destroying any realistic chance of a traditional retirement. The plan would be to get a job at a hotel, on the mountain, or somewhere else in town and just… live in Whistler.

How crazy is this? Anyone else make a similarly questionable midlife decision or is this just a midlife crisis that will pass?

My friend is having her bachelorette in Whistler from December 3–6, and she’s starting to worry that the village and bars might be super quiet that early in the season.

We’re a group of around 11 girls and definitely want some fun nights out. What is the nightlife usually like that weekend? Are the bars and clubs still busy, or will we be the only people there? Also open to any recommendations for fun group activities or places to go!

I am looking for rentals for Winter, and won’t be able to move over until mid-end October. I have been offered 2 leases that start October 1st, and I have been told that I can pay rent from then and move in whenever I would like. Otherwise, I will lose the rental as end of Oct is too late, and I would really prefer having a rental before going over to Whistler (naturally).

For context, I am getting my friend to do a walkthrough of the houses first before we confirm or pay for anything.

I am trying to figure out if this is a clever scam or a legit thing some people do🤔 Trying to figure out if I am being paranoid of not haha.

I see that the hike starts around the end of the road but haven’t found a parking lot, where do you park around there?

Last year I ripped whistler on my giant stance e bike, blew my rear shock, and got a grade 3 AC tear lol. Back at it again this year, but I am going to rent a bike for me to keep up better with my kiddo.

Growing up I always had a DH bike, as an adult ive just ripped my trail bikes on greens - so I haven't ever rented.

I know the big shops like Summit and Evo - but I have no idea on price/quality/what people think of the shops.

Anyone able to suggest the best option - just a single day rental DH - 6'4 200LB. Going to do mostly greens but I will be rippign crank it up at least a couple times lol.

Going to Whistler on October with large group. I understand that M+S or Winter tires are required by law, and that most car rental agencies will only provide M+S tires. So two quick questions:

-In case we get unlucky and snow hits on the days we are planning to travel, is it okay to travel with M+S tires?

-Does anyone know any car rental agency that provides vehicles with winter tires?

We see a lot of black bears, but this one seemed to have a hump? Seen in Pemberton.

Hey guys! Im wondering if Tuesday September first is looking like a good day for wedgemount lake. Whistlers weather is Sunny but wedgemount is partly cloudy that day. Anyone thinks it would still be worth the hike up? I dont think I would wanna hike so far for the views to be completely covered. Any pictures of what it looks like with low visibility are appreciated too!

I’m planning a family ski trip to Whistler Blackcomb for March 2027. Since I’ll be taking a massive 17h+ international flight to get to Canada, I want to make sure I time everything right to minimize crowds, maximize snow quality and weather, and make the best of it.

I’m looking at a 5-day ski trip and trying to decide between two specific windows:

Option A: March 12th – March 16th (Friday to Tuesday). Ski days first, then tourism later.

Option B: March 17th – March 21st (Wednesday to Sunday). Tourism first, then ski days later.

I know that spring break season kicks off around the March 13th weekend and runs through Easter (which is March 28th, 2027). Is the first weekend of spring break (March 12-14) an absolute nightmare for crowds? would arriving mid-week (Option B) be a smarter play to let the weekend crowds clear out, or does it not matter much since all of late March falls into the spring break corridor?

Additionally, I’m torn on lodging and looking at two properties: The Four Seasons Resort Whistler vs. Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
Are these two luxury hotels truly worth the price tag compared to village-center options? What is the best option among them?

Headed into the back country and taking a friends 4x4, is there any good place to park my car for over 24 hours? Village lots seem to be 24 hours max

Planning my first trip in December from Australia. Are there any hotels that are so dirty you wouldn't stay again? Any hotels that are so far out the way its not worth it?

I was up in the park with my kid on Monday for his first time, and I noticed a photographer set up near the top of Heart of Darkness around 1230pm. My kid didn’t see him but was raving about the great jump and whip he did on that jump, it was great!

I went to try and find the photo but don’t know where it could be. I didn’t catch/see the name of the photographer or company unfortunately. I reached out to Whistler and they pointed me to MTNPIX but it wasn’t them.

Does anyone know what other companies are setting up for photos in the park these days? It’s possible it was just a random guy (if so I’d love to track him down!!).

Not sure if I fully understand but it looks like buddy builds a trail on public land without permission and then is mad that it shows up on Openstreetmap and he tries to get them to take it down but they won’t because it’s OPEN, so he destroys several years of his own work out of spite. Feel free to enlighten me if I missed something.

Hi! I'm moving to Whistler at the end of September for the ski season (until the end of April 2027). I'm moving completely solo and I don't have any friends/family in the country, let alone the city. I've got almost everything sorted now, flights, accommodation, insurance, etc, but I do still have some concerns.

I have never been skiing/snowboarding before and don't know how long it'll take to learn (especially without anyone there who will come up the mountain with me). I don't know much about the gear I need to get, and I'm worried about making friends. Do you have any advice for someone in my situation, even if it isn't related to my concerns above?
