Ohio couple with the same birthday give birth to twins on their birthday. The whole family has the same birthday.

I would hate to have to coordinate birthdays with the family though, if everyone has the same birthday. 😵‍💫

On the other hand, with a sample size big enough, there is a high probability that low probability events will happen.

They could singlehandedly thwart the birthday attack.

Yeh but 1 in a million chances happen 9/10

YMMV

Around 1 in 130 thousand given you know the two kids are twins. Just 365x365, at least ignoring leap year permutations and the possibility of the twins being born right around midnight with one before and one after.

That’s the odds of the baby sharing the birthday with one parent. You can’t calculate the odds of two people with the same birthday meeting, getting together, and having twins with the same birthdays. Not knowing they are twins is also part of it too.

I was going to say I'm doing the math and I'm getting something much higher, closer to 1 and 33 million for identical twins and 1 and 5 million for regular twins

I said “given that you know the two kids are twins.” Couldn’t have made that clearer. It’s just the odds that this particular family would all share a birthday.

I know. I was saying the original question was looking for the odds and you are adding qualifiers that drastically alter the odds so you can’t do that. It was clear just an inaccurate way to look at things.

It's 1 in 4.4 million.

33 (for twins)x365x365 for both parents and one child (in this case twins) to have the same birthday. For a normal 4 person family it's 1 in 365³ (48 million)

Right, the 4 person family without twins would indeed be 1 in 365^3. So a 4 person family with twins, where the twins are paired and practically guaranteed the same birthday, that becomes 1 in 365^2. No clue where you’re getting this 33 from.

The probability to have twins is 1 in 33

She’s still in a hospital bed after forcing 2 children out of her vagina! I think she looks great.

I am not saying she doesn't look great, I'm saying they could have maybe made Shure the photo isn't blurry and nobody is making funny faces

Why does that matter? It’s their photo. You don’t know how the birth was for them

Post birth photos capture the feelings so well.

I had the first baby of the new year at my local hospital, so it got a little newspaper article. The hospital pr person came in my room the next day with no prior warning, snapped a quick photo and left. I looked terrible, having just given birth in the wee hours! I had no say in what photo they used or anything.

How tf did they gain access to your room? Hipaa and all? I would sue the shit out of the hospital if not the hospital. Ok mayne not sue but I would have flipped my shit for sure.

I mean they knocked and asked but it was a bit of an ambush.

My wife and I have the same Birthday! Makes it pretty fun to celebrate. Couldn’t imagine if our daughter shared the same birthday as us.

Nah they’ll feel so special because they’ll be the only whole family with the same birthday.

Both at different times, for sure. As small children, probably the former as they just want attention, then the latter as they grow up and understand how unique it is.

Oh my god, and she’s pregnant again! How devastating for that young family 🥺

3

Nah. The kids will always have a special day. It’s the dad no one will ever be bothered about again.

1

u/LadyJR 3d ago

It depends on the family dynamic.

u/KazaamFan 2d ago

That’s crazy talk. This is awesome. The parents just have to focus celebration on them, and what parwnts wouldnt

My husband is a twin and his parents didn't even give them individual gifts, just 1 to share. They have 4 other siblings who all got their own stuff. Likewise when they gave each child a small sum of money when they came of age, they only gave one share for the twins to split. Some parents are really weird and suck about this stuff.

Our own twins celebrate their birthday on different days, their choice.

That's cool you can celebrate in one day

Man I dunno if you know how pregnancies, fertilization and births work but most times you get a date and if you're lucky you are a few days to a week apart from that date.

Timing pregnancies and births is extremely difficult and luck based.

Birth is like a really bad poo, sometimes you just can't hold it in.

And sometimes you can’t get it out
