Challenge Mind-reader vs Future-seer: Chess

The mind-reader can see exactly what the future-seer is thinking, and the future-seer’s visions change if a different decision is made so if somebody’s decision changes the future-seer sees a changing future somewhat long way like theoretically infinite. No clock. Both are immortal.

they both get brain aneurysms and die from their powers interacting

What if they’re both immortal?

They would probably agree to a draw because they know this match cannot reasonably be won

or maybe they play an optimal game and chess is solved

Probably the optimal game is the outcome. But they’d both have bad headaches

the future-seer’s visions change if a different decision is made.

You need to explain this in more detail. If the future-seer can't predict their opponent's next move, what does it mean that they can "see the future"?

As in, if the mind-reader changes the decision, then the future-seer’s vision changes.

The future seer is basically stockfish and the mind reader is copying stockfish, so it is a draw 98 out of 100 times. The future seer has a slight advantage if they are aware of the mind reader's power, as they can be deceptive and the mind reader can't. That being said if the mind reader can read thoughts sequentially, as in not only what is happening at this very moment, it just becomes a draw where whoever has white wins maybe 2% of the games.

Do they know about each other's powers?

How far ahead does future seer actually see?

Does he only see a new outcome when a variable changes from the previously established future?

Or is he actively seeing thing unfold seconds or minutes before they happen?

They know about each other’s powers, and can see into the future for a long amount of future. Theoretically infinite.

Can you define how you envision the future sight works?

This will be crucial in how it interacts with mind reader

It’s theoretically infinite but the future-seer can’t handle it so only sees some moves ahead not the entire game ahead, and if the mind-reader changes his mind, the future-seer’s visions change.

Ok so he is actively seeing the moves happen before they happen?

Kind of like he sees a phantom do the move second or minutes before actual body moves like a sort of reverse after image?

I guess you could say reverse after image because it shows the future in visuals and audio rather than text.

Ok so with reverse after image future sight, I think mind reader losses.

Because, at least they way I envision mind reading, you are basically accessing the internal monolgue of another person. Unless you envision it as audio visual and mind reader can also somehow see a visualization of other people's thoughts.

Idk about you but I dont generally think to myself in visuals, just audio.

So future seer can simply narate unrelated audio, OR switch to a language the mind reader doesnt know. Example, say you are being interrogated by a mind reader so your thoughts are exposed, so you start thinking in japanese so the mind reader is unable to understand the audio stream they tapped into.

I’m imagining the mind-reader sees the exact thing in the mind.
