No, he hasnt signed yet.
-Judd Brackett has left his position as the Director of Amateur Scouting and signed on with the Maple Leafs as their Assistant GM. Ricard Persson has been promoted as his replacement. Persson is a Swede who has been with the organization since 2010. Persson, whose nickname is apparently Rico, will stay stationed in Sweden during the year.
-Additional Hockey Ops changes include hiring Dan MacKinnon as Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting, Janik Beichler as a European Scout, Elizabeth Hudson as GMBG's executive assistant, and promoting Alex Goligoski to Player Development Coach.
-AHL Iowa has hired a new head coach, as Greg Cronin is off to the Blues. Stu Bickel has been hired on to replace him. The rest of Iowa's coaching staff remains unchanged per Russo.
-The 2026 Draft resulted in only 3 players being selected: (F) Adam Andersson, (F) Kayden Lemire, (G) Filip Růžička
Of Note: Růžička has already signed his ELC, although he is set to return to the WHL Brandon Wheat Kings this fall.
-Cap calculations will change day by day during free agency. Puckpedia will be your best resource for the latest calculations.
-All roster spots are technically full, although top line wingers and the elusive 1C are upgrades the roster could sorely use.
-Michael McCarron signed for 6 years x $3.3M. 6 more years of Big Sexy. The contract includes trade protection for all 6 years. 1 year contracts have been given to Nick Foligno, Zach Bogosian, Mason Shaw, Maxim Shabanov, Daemon Hunt, and Cal Pickard (who is likely to serve as a backup goalie with Gus out for the start of the year. Additional AHL depth signings are detailed in the free agency thread.
-UFA Winger Marcus Johansson will be returning to Sweden to play with Farjestad versus seeking another NHL contract. Reports show that Zuccarello and Tarasenko will not be back with Minnesota. Jeff Petry and Robby Fabbri remain human hockey players who could hypothetically be employed.
-Defenseman Jake Middleton (plus picks) was traded to the Calgary Flames for Blake Coleman (50% retained) and Olli Määttä
UFAs:
All centers signed.

Please discuss any Larkin trade rumors in the Larkintalk thread. We are not a Detroit sub. There doesn't need to be a post for every time something happens to them. Don't be like Devil's fans.

Around June 4th, it was reported that Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin requested a trade, and was subsequently reported that his preferred destinations were Minnesota, Florida, or Vegas. Minnesota was deemed a likely destination due to Larkin's connections to GM Bill Guerin and former teammates from the US Olympic Gold winning team. However, as packages started being discussed, with Minnesota's offer being deemed insufficient, Yzerman countered by asking for Matt Boldy. Yzerman than asked Larkin to expand his team list, got Dallas in the mix, and asked for Wyatt Johnston.
These being non-starters, and with Yzerman stating a need for solid roster players in return, had stalled trade discussions.
On July 15th, Steve Yzerman stepped down as Detroit's GM, sparking more rumors about potential trades. Insiders are mixed on what this might mean for Larkin, but Wild insiders LaPanta and Russo note that it might be detrimental to a potential trade.
At the begining of the 2026 season, Larkin will be a 30 year old center who is a consistent 65-70 point scorer. He has played one PPG season (2024-24), in which he scored 69 points in 68 games.

Larkin has a cap hit of 8.7m AAV for 5 years with a full NTC until '28-'29. The Wild have just over 1m in cap space.

Whole lot of nothing. But Guerin talks about Quinn. Also talks about the Makar extension and that Quinn may be after “other things”.

I can't find anything. We're less than a month from opening night and I still don't know where the Wild will be broadcast.

Family and I have begun a new tradition where we pick a game or two each season to visit an opposing team’s barn and watch the Wild. Since this is the last year the iconic Saddledome will still be standing, we figured Calgary would be a nice option. To any who have been, is it worth it to sit way up in the Press Level seats? My mother might have a hard time seeing from there. Tickets aren’t too bad in the 200 levels either and that might be a more reasonable spot while still getting the overall experience.
Maybe I’m overthinking it all, but anyone who has been there, chime in and let me know what you thought of the place and where you sat!

Alright fellas, ladies and everything in between we need to stop giving any time or attention to the outside nonsense. This is what it’s like to finally be a destination. They either hate us or wish they were us. Devils fans only have hopium, Detroit fans are delusional at best. Lions don’t concern themselves with the affairs of ants. Don’t concern yourself with the affairs of lesser teams. Minnesota has a team that players have on their short list, have confidence not fear. Don’t argue with idiots who’s lives are so boring they have to make up stuff about players on other teams. Don’t care when other fans try to reinforce their own wants and wishes by twisting comments or nobody bloggers.
We are the State of Hockey, the games in our blood and our bloods in the game.

The guys who make shivers run down your spine when you remember they ever played for the team. For me it's
Martin Hanzal
V1C Rask
Kyle Quincey (apparently he only played 18 games for us in 17-18. Somehow every shift is trauma in my brain)

Thought I’d share this here. Long time Wing’s fan and I listen regularly to the Winged Wheel Podcast (WWP).
This week, they interviewed top Wing’s (and a top NHL) prospect Trey Augustine (goalie).
They asked him the player with the most deceptive/hardest shot to save in his career so far and he said Matt Boldy.
Surprised me, as while I know him as a top NHL winger, I did not expect to hear his name as top shooter from a goalie perspective.
Figured you all would like to hear this.

The thing that worries me the most is its going to look similar to early Dallas jerseys. Love the night time logo and the concept in general, but man I cant get over the fact that a black jersey and green striping with cream accents is just going to look like stars jerseys on broadcast. I honestly think a better concept would've been something like the winter classic jerseys but instead going back to St. Paul's roots in ice polo before structured hockey was brought in. Those old sweaters would make a stunning inspired jersey that would look great both in person and on broadcast. Just wanted to hear some thoughts on the jerseys, Cheers!

Cap space aside, why has this guy not been signed by any team?
This guy is good for 30-40 points a year. Hes not flashy, but he is 27 and being that he is unsigned, could most likely get him for quite cheap.
Are there some underlying metrics of his that are huge red flags?

September is at the door knocking and we are almost to training camp (players report the 16th, on the ice 17th) so thought I’d open up a chill conversation for the group as we all trickle back in from the off season and get to focusing on what really matters: hockey.
So question for today is: what is the one thing you are most looking forward to this season? Ideally this is something very specific and not overly broad (like I can’t just say Brock Faber because that’s obvious and also not in the spirit). Could be a specific game on the schedule, a milestone, the first Shabby to Kirill etc.

Hey all! My mother is proud of herself for finding this puck at a thrift shop, but we can't figure out whose signature this might be, and it was just labeled "puck" so that's no help.
We're reasonably sure the number is 25, but none of the names we can find that are associated with that number seems to match the signature. I'm aware that signatures can vary, but I haven't found anything online that matches this one so I'm stuck. I included the back of the puck in case it helps narrow down the possible date range at all.
I'd appreciate any help!
