Floofy!
I was at obedience school and a classmate who is also a dog groomer gave me a pro tip for reducing some of the fluff between strippings!! Suds your wire, I mean REALLY suds them, then take your rake brush (the one that looks like a rake š« š¤·āāļø) and brush them all over. I cannot believe how much fur came off Geno! His "pants" were getting very BIG. Now they look more manageable and you can almost see his spots on the hind legs!
Now onto his head.... his eyes are getting small...

Mine HATES to be bathed, brushed, striped any thing! Iām at a loss. For get nails I have to bring him to the vet. So basically Iām saying Iām jealous

My last Wire, George, was the same! Grooming was a huge challenge. I showed Fred his brush almost immediately when I brought him home to get him used to grooming. You are not alone, and we just do the best we can right?

I so bummed about the fading colors. I try and brush those as much as he will let me

I understand that for sure. George was mostly white with an 8 shape spot near his tail. I used to strip it while he slept on my lap to try to keep it bright, until he caught on. But his tan head turning white made me sad! But he was still absolutely adorable. That is the great part about Wires is they look cute no matter the grooming style!

I started Geno very young and treated and praised him for being still and quiet. It certainly is a process and almost always requires starting very early in their life. There will come a time when we no longer strip him, I am sure.

It is so tough with such a willful breed of dog! Geno is never a perfect angel, unless you think a wild boar with piranha teeth is perfect. š
