I was shopping for this perfume and randomly stumbled upon it on woolies. It’s also significantly cheaper. Retail price at Mecca is $255 so this looks sus 😭. Is this legit??

About 4 days ago I got injured outside of work (dislocated knee and 2nd degree mcl tear), I went to the physio and got a doctors note which says I need to be on lighter duties and currently can’t do the following things for the next 4 weeks (until I am reviewed by the physio):
- squatting, kneeling or crouching
- climbing ladders or step stools
- prolonged walking or standing
- pushing or pulling heavy loads.
I understand that is a large list of things I can’t do, however I currently work in front end and I’m sure a chair could be given so that I can continue to work while I recover. However, my manager has told me I am not allowed to work because of my injury and the potential liability if I was to get hurt at work again I think. I am a broke uni student with no leave currently so not working is not really an option for me. I have been told that putting a chair in the service desk so I can continue to work while I recover is not allowed, haven’t been given a reason why just told we can’t have a chair in service desk. I don’t understand why they can’t accommodate for my needs while I am on lighter duties. Also, I know other people who have had hand/arm injuries and have still been allowed to work while in light duties, I understand the knee is a little different but I could easily have a chair/stool to sit in so I could keep working. Any help/guidance on what to do would be appreciated. Thanks

TL:DR — I injured my knee, and instead of being put on light duties I have been told I am not to show up to work. And I don’t have any leave, and am a broke uni student.

I curious for any starting out woolies workers that started out as casual then transitioned into part time. How long did it take? And how many hours did your manager offer you for your contract?

Hello, I have been hired as a casual at woolies for a month and 10 days. I always wanted to be part time and I got the offer today. The thing is I don’t know what comes next, about my leaves or anything. Anything helps guys.

Every SINGLE time I order they send me a message right before my time slot starts and say they're delayed and then they absolutely will not answer their phones either. I choose the time slot as my parter is on his way home from work and we only have one car and have other activities with the kids in the evening so cant just go back out later. Fuming.

Sick of seeing these things adding to the already increasing litter, woolworths should be fined.

edit: 2 For those that missed the point, creating needless waste should be made illegal, these companies should be responsible for the clean up because much to the amazement of the low iq here, rubbish can move in many ways, like wind, birds, collection failures, e.t.c. It is also pointless landfill. These toys are fads that get thrown as soon as they are collected. Ask your local thrift store.

Can i do 2 shifts in the same day??…Is it possible to do morning shifts in the cross store Woolsworth and evening shift in my main??

Just had the best scan&go experience at Robina! New little holders on the trolley for my phone, finally upgraded the mobile network, everything so snappy. Bagging groceries as I go. Best bit? Walking past the 20m line at the self serve checkouts and out the scan&go gate.

Are there any Grocery Nightfill Managers who have an issue with the nightfill planning tool and how it calculates. It's a generic calculator that doesn't account for each store's differences. The calculation is so out of whack even though the two stores I have been in, are so different.

Genuinely curious what the shoppers for online orders think of peoples orders?

I had someone else’s order mistakenly dropped off with my order (half of my order was missing which was annoying) but I was genuinely baffled by what was in the order!

7 bottles of Pepsi max and Solo Zero Sugar, 2 blocks of chocolate, 2 red onions and a couple zucchinis… like what?? My partner was happy with the soft drink and I was happy I got some chocolate, I don’t budget for that sort of stuff in our weekly shop it’s essentials and food only mostly. If we want fun stuff we pay for it out of our money and not the food budget money.

Alternatively I often wonder what they think of my food shops - do they see the ingredients I’m buying and think “I wish I was having dinner there this week” or “glad I don’t live with them this week!”

EDIT: The replies are so wholesome and I wasn’t expecting that, I judge myself hardcore on my own shopping especially on weeks where I have little fruit/veg and it’s mostly junk/snacks for lunchbox fillers and I’ve just assumed I’m being judged by other people for it! I’m sorry for projecting 😭

Tasmanian beef cattle farmers have been dealt a blow as Woolworths confirmed it would no longer sell Tasmanian beef in its stores.

Suppliers say the supermarket giant cited rising production and shipping costs in its decision to stop buying the state's beef.

The ABC understands Woolworths will exit its relationship with JBS Foods' Tasmanian abattoir at Longford from 2027.

Scottsdale farmer Jerrod Nichols said he had supplied 40 cattle a fortnight to Woolworths over the past two years.

He said having the security of a Woolworths contract had been "paramount" in investing in the industry amid a fluctuating market.

However, he said he was not surprised by the decision.

"Because there's no contract kill abattoir or service kill abattoir in Tasmania, they [Woolworths] were having to use JBS and, being a multinational company … they were charging them an exorbitant price to do that kill," Mr Nichols said.

"And then to be shipping those bodies back to Victoria for processing, and bringing them back to Tasmania; I can see that model was probably unsustainable.

"Everything that was used here in Tassie historically was killed here so it's the loss of jobs; it's another outlet that's gone from the state."

Chair of TasFarmers' Livestock Council and Red Meat & Wool Committee George Shea said farmers were under pressure as a result of the cost-of-living crisis.

"Farmers — especially in Tassie — always need to be proactive in marketing their stock and looking for their best options'" Mr Shea said.

"Unfortunately, we don't have the same number of options as they do on the mainland … you just have to make the best of what you can.

"It's always concerning when something changes in the market, but farmers are very adaptable and they'll adapt to this I'm sure."

I got an email for an invitation for a meet and greet, but I don't know what store it's for. Since Charlestown is the only one that says interview in progress, should I just go there.

Also what do I need to bring? Is this another interview where I need to be prepared for questions? Does this mean that I basically got the job already?
