Trigger Talk trigger set building questions?

My personal favourite part of world trigger is being able to make your own trigger sets. but sometimes I have questions?

  1. is it ok to have only one shield if you have raygust on your other side.

  2. is it possible to have composite bullet types on your gunner triggers.

  3. how does the preset trajectory work for viper, like do you set it before firing or before the match even begins (in the context of a ranked war).

  4. is bagworm really worth it for none snipers if it costs so much trion.

  5. why is viper so unpopular if it's so good to suprise attack people. and tomahawk is so good.

  6. do you think the series has only scratched the surface of what the raygust can do? and do you think its underated especially with thruster?

  1. Yeah there is nothing wrong with that, Osamu has that setup

  2. We know very little when it comes to composite bullets in regards to gunner triggers. All we know is that it needs to be setup that way and then it can only shoot composites. We don't know if it takes 1 or 2 slots

  3. You set it up before the match even begins. If you were able to set it before firing then you are doing what Nasu does.

  4. Practically everyone has bagworm, even non snipers. I don't think it takes up a lot of trion. Maybe if you wear it for hours which you won't be.

  5. Viper has a very high skill floor compared to hound so people don't use it a lot.

  6. I think we have seen most of what Raygust can do, it has had a lot of attention. We know of custom thrusters but have yet to see them so that is what I am looking forward to.

so it is possible to set the trajectory mid match/combat for 3.

Yes it is very much possible to set customized trajectory for every shot before shooting.

Most agents practice and memorized a few patterns of trajectories, the main 2 is "focused to spread" or "spreaded to focused"

this forces opponents to gamble whenever they try to shield themselves. This is good enough for most shooter/gunners

Since being able to create trajectories per shot fast enough is extremely mentally demanding, especially the more complex the trajectory is.

Nasu, Izumi, Hyuse and MAYBE Miwa are capable of this due their skill/talent for trion control.

Izumi just has a innate talent for it and It was explain in a QnA/trivia that Izumi was the one who "discovered" composite bullets, which is something that take considerable amount of trion control/imagination from other shooters to understand before they could do it.

Hyuse's horns help enhance his trion control and he's been training this skill since childhood to the point that it's his proud forté

Miwa is also shown using gunner Viper against Mira and Hyrein's portal fish trick during Aftokrator invasion, and his ability to divide shields into many small mini shields could suggest high trion control.

Nasu's viper is more dangerous because Nasu's intuition is uncannily good at reading people's combat behavior (how they react/moves/fight). Supported with her operator giving her map data, she has 3D mental map, making predictions and constantly pre-planning trajectories with her targets habits/personality/mindset factored in.

Given Nasu is mostly bedridden outside of her trion body, I guess there's not much other training she can do except the mental kinds, being cousin to the No.2 sniper probably helps too.

Best way I can describe it is: imagine playing a RTS game like Starcraft, Age of Empire 2, or BAR, most agents just use preset unit formations then send them to the enemy to attack, meanwhile these folks are manually controlling their each of their units movement and targeting as they attack. Now replace units with bullets and do this while in a chaotic battle with your life in the line.

I doubt you can with gunner triggers. If you want that level of control you would need to be a shooter and also bs at the level of nasu

You’re wrong on 3. You pick the pattern when you fire, but you can only select from certain prememorized ones you practice beforehand. Strictly limited to certain options but you do choose from among them with each firing. Nasu and Izumi by contrast don’t need to prememorize, they have unlimited options.

That is true but I assumed they were asking about the actual preset creation and not choosing which preset to use in a fight.

yeah that's right

  1. Yes.
  2. Yes.
  3. You prememorize some path settings in training and pick which one you use each time you fire.
  4. Bagworm doesn’t cost much, it’s just a constant drain that can add up with extended use.
  5. Being limited to prememorized attack patterns makes it way less useful. It’s not ‘shoot it how you want’ it’s ‘you can shoot it in a handful of different ways and must train for each’, unless you’re Nasu or Izumi.
  6. It’s weight slowing you down makes it harder to use, so I can see why it’s not used so much. It really is poor in melee for most.

viper cube is set before shooting, most people focus on fixed routes. only skilled agents can use it dynamicaly, setting trajectories for feints and tricks as the situation requires. unknown if viper shot from weapons can be programmed as its not been used yet; only cubes have shown this.
