My Xteink Brown is the new black
Just got a custom leather sleeve for my X3 from local leather workshop in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. They're honestly doing a great job.

Hi everyone,
We want to acknowledge that our support response times recently haven’t been good enough.
We’ve had a backlog of emails, and we’ve also seen more feedback from customers who have been waiting too long for a reply.
That’s on us, and we need to do better.
This week, we’ve added more people to our customer support team. They’re currently going through training, and our team will also be working through the weekend to continue handling outstanding cases.
If you’re still waiting for a response, we’re sorry for the delay.
You should see a noticeable improvement in our overall response times starting next week.
We’ll keep working on this until the support experience is back where it should be.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
— XTEINK Team

One of the things we love most about the X3 isn’t just how small it is.
It’s how easily it becomes part of what you carry every day.
At just 58g and 5.1mm thin, X3 was designed to slip into a pocket, a small bag, or wherever life takes you—without making you think twice about bringing a book along.
So this time, we’d love to see:
From August 8–14, join by commenting below with:
• A photo featuring your XTEINK X3 somewhere it goes with you in everyday life
• A few words about where you take it and why you like having it there
Your pocket.
Your commute.
Your desk.
A weekend trip.
Or somewhere we’d never expect.
We’re not looking for the most polished photo. We’re looking for the most genuine glimpse of how X3 fits into your everyday life.
We’ll select 10 winners from entries across Reddit, Facebook Group, and Instagram.
The reward applies to the eReader itself; accessories are not included. The number of winners from each platform may vary.
And if your X3 turns up somewhere unexpected, even better.
Selected entries may also be featured on XTEINK’s official channels, with full credit.
We can’t wait to see where yours goes.

This isn’t my first e-reader but admittedly my kindle is a little too big to bring around especially at work.
I’ve had the Xteink X4 for a while now and I love how it makes it easy to read anywhere and everywhere. I work in health care and often end up doomscrolling on my phone during down times.
Since I got the device, I have been reading more. I love the buttons and how it fits in my scrub pockets with no problem.

I came across the leaks from Joshua Lowcock.. and taking in consideration that the regular X4 has been discontinued.. It seems we might see some new products maybe this year still:
- New refreshed X4, classic version as we know, upgraded internals with buttons, with pogo connectors instead of USBC connector;
- New X4L, which is the X4 as we know, but with backlight, pogo connectors and no touchscreen (!)
If this rumors turned out to be true... The X4 buttons with light and no touch will be just RIGHT. I lost my X4 and I was looking to buy the X4Pro, but now I'll wait!

I'm prototyping a case for the X4 PRO. The magnetic closure is weak, so I've opted for a 3D-printed shell for attachment. The problem is that I intended to use magnets to secure the cover and screen (like the original case), but the leather layer weakens the magnetic force, preventing proper attachment. Do you have any suggestions?

I finally received my X4 Pro!
I ordered it directly through the Xteink website, and it arrived in just under 8 days. Honestly, it’s even cooler than I expected! It feels surprisingly solid and heavy in the hand, and the build quality feels really good.
I flashed it with Crosspoint and Crossink (which, IMO, is the coolest firmware so far). It took me about an hour to figure everything out, and voilà. I was up and running!
The Xteink community is pretty much amazing. There are tons of helpful members, and almost every step is spoon-fed through different guides and posts. Even if you’re completely new to it, there’s plenty of help around.
I’m so excited to finally start reading with it! I’ve only read a couple of pages so far, but I already feel weirdly attached to it. 😂
So far, it feels much more comfortable, exciting, and handy to use compared to my Kindle Paperwhite.
Let the reading begin! 📖

I checked for updates and came up with this. It shows the current version as v1.5.0 and the new version is also v1.5.0. Should I update it or not?
Also side note, does anybody know how to get one of these screen protectors on without the bubbles like I've got in those photos? I've tried three different times and I just get worse results each time

I ordered it off of AliExpress so I’m aware I’ll probably have to use the unlocker tool, but pls give tips and tricks to help me make the most of it!!

First of all, I love the size of the X3 but that's where the positives end.
All in all, while I love the size of the X3, the X4 wins handsdown in terms of screen performance (of course it has less resolution, but I'm fine with that) and build quality.
I'd love to hear your insight on these findings.
Edit: The X4 is practically new btw. Bought in August from xteinks webpage a few days before it was discontinued.
I also noticed some coil whine when flipping pages on the X3.

Introducing the SPRiNKLE case for XTEINK X4 Pro!
While the model is completely and entirely my own work, this XTEINK X4 Pro case was heavily inspired by the X4 full body case designed by fusselich on MakerWorld.
Please print in PLA or PETG, no support necessary. I would suggest first layer be .2, and the rest of the model be optimal .16 layers.
Also feel free to print the buttons in colors for a fun pop of color to make your SPRiNKLE uniquely your own!

Does anyone know a good source for finding an X4 Pro case that doesn’t take three weeks to arrive? I’m a bit impatient and the pink is really not my speed.

I got my X3 a few months ago and was very surprised by the clear and crisp screen! It's so small, but the display quality is amazing.
I enjoy reading on the X3 during the day, and I read surprisingly often, but in the evenings or in bed, I'd like something backlit and larger for tired eyes. Now I'm wondering if there's a larger black and white e-reader with backlighting that's just as crisp? Is there a reader of this quality? I've read about the Libra 2, apparently, it's supposed to be good. Is it worth hoping to find one on eBay or should I look at a different reader? A crisp display and even backlighting are important to me (bw, no colors).
Sidenote: I don't like Kindle. I've hated mine.
And I won't buy a Tolino.

Hi all, I’m really trying to get into reading for my mental health and to decompress after long days of work. I’ve found I can’t seem to get a moment to myself so I want to set aside time to read the books I’ve always wanted to read. I’m making it a hard goal for me to read for at least 30 mins a day when I have the free time.
I’m so new to all of these e-ink readers but I’m learning more. I can’t justify the cash to buy one new, and nobody local to me is selling one, but I’d love to purchase a used one for a decent price from anyone on here. If this isn’t the right place to post this please direct me to where I can find a used xteink to kick off my reading journey. This community seems so kind and I can’t wait to have one of my own one day. Thanks!!

Hey guys!
I decided to get the X4 Pro even after all the issues I had with customer service when I got the normal X4. I have been using it for about 1.5 weeks and it is quite good (if u only use touchscreen in my case...)! (I'm a huge fan of buttons, I only got the Pro bc I desperately needed the light)
Although it works, It arrived with one of the buttons that is hard to press and it doesnt do any sound. I tried to press hard for about 5 seconds or more, multiple times as someone mentioned in this sub and I also tried to clean it with special alcohol but still it is so "mushy". It's so uncomfortable bc its the right button which is my best hand position T-T.
I've sent an email as soon as it arrived but, susprise, no answer and I'm getting tired. I can't ask for a return because I applied the screen protector as soon as it arrived and even if I didn't apply it, I've heard its expensive to return.
I also wouldnt feel comfortable seeing how long they take to process or even reply to orders/issues....
Have you guys done any DIY for this cases? (Yes, I press on the center of the button).
Thanks!

Picked up a bunch of X4s to give away to some advance reader folks, and saw there was a sale on the Pro. So I loaded up my old X4 - That one went to a friend - and have been putting the new one to work. Kind of missing the buttons on the bottom, but that may be a thing I get over.

Hello!
I mostly read in my Kindle or Kindle app on my phone or iPad. Can you use the Kindle app on XTEink? So I have everything synced between devices. Thank you.

Does anyone know about this product ?
Seems to have buttons, touch screen, front light, < 4" screen, ~235 ppi, USB C and priced at $55. But its not available for purchase yet.
Seems like a direct competitor of xteink x4 pro but at 1/2 the price ? At $55 its even cheaper than x3.
It is a gimmick or are these products really worth it. Seems like the company sells other products, including e-paper displays. Has anyone here used them ? How is the build quality ?

I designed this double-sided magnetic case for the XTEINK X3 to make it attach more securely to my phone.
The two semicircular magnetic rings at the bottom can also connect to a PopSocket or another magnetic phone grip, making the X3 more comfortable and stable to hold while reading.
I’d love to hear what you think about the design!
