so i decided to try a fun little randomiser, it wasn't meant to be anything too crazy, i had logic, so i knew it was beatable, but then i got a hint about final frogs being light arrows, and i was a little worried, but it wasn't anything too bad, i was still early on, i wasn't worried at the time, and by the time i was ~6 hours in i had every single song but epona's song, so this seeds almost over, easy!

and i then spent the next FOUR HOURS, searching for ONE ITEM, all i need to beat the game is Epona's song, and i have searched damn near every corner of hyrule

fun fact: 357/481 is ~74.2%, i have searched damn near three quarters of this entire game and failed to find epona's song, account for the fact that all cows are currently impossible (and thus none of them can have eponas song) and the number jumps to over 75%...

Been playing a new rando for a bit and had the Fire Temple end up in the Water Temple. Looking at my spoiler log, the Iron Boots are locked behind Silver Gauntlets, which I do not have. One of them is in the Fire Temple itself, and one is locked behind the Ice Cavern Scythe. Silver Rupees, one of which is locked behind the Iron Boots. The crux is I have already used hover boots to beat the fire temple, with Morpha as the boss, which filled the lake. Is there any known way out of this situation, because I cannot seem to figure one out?

I’ve been a fan of watching randomizers for a few years now but just got into playing my own last month. Last night I completed my 3rd seed. It was potsanity, key sanity, all dungeon entrances and bosses plus some other stuff. It was a logic seed but I’ve been doing as many glitched and skips as possible lately (just to learn more) so the logic is basically just to make sure it is a beatable seed. (Saying this because I don’t know if I want to go much more chaotic than this, it got to be a pretty long run and I can only play a few hours after work each day. But if you think it’s a fun run I’ll definitely do it)

I’m gunna generate a new seed when I get home from work in a few hours and want some suggestions. It doesn’t even need to be the most challenging, im just wondering what setting you guys had the most fun with.

I absolutely love watching randomizers, especially randomizer races! I've gone through most of what Games Done Quick has to offer, and I'm looking to branch out. Unfortunately, I have a day job and limited time, and I know there's a lot of content out there competing for my attention. So, I'm humbly asking you, the experts: If you could recommend just one run to a friend, what would you say?

I am on my second seed and seem to be stuck. I used glitchless logic and I need bombs or hookshot to progress. Hookshot is located either in the Gerudo Training grounds underwater chest or the lost woods near shortcut grotto. So back to bombs.

They are in three locations. The maze in goron city, the piece of heart in death mountain crater, or the horseback archery game. And the hammer is in the other Goron maze chest. I guess the logic is assuming I would get to DMC. But how? The bomb flower to open Dodongo doesn't reach the rocks blocking the path to DMC. I could go through the entrance as an adult, but then how would I get up on the spire without the magic bean flower that is locked behind the bomb rocks at Zoras river? I also have the Hover boots and Goron bracelet and bow.

Edit: The answer is hover boots can just barely reach the spire from the adult entrance, getting me the bomb bag. This gets me access to hookshot and Megaton hammer immediately so now I have a ton more checks. Thanks everyone!

Have wanted to try a randomizer for years, finally got into it and had a blast. For the most part, logic was easy to track, but had to check spoiler log for light arrows after an exhaustive search (it was stuck behind a song check that required beating more bosses for spiritual stones).

Biggest flub was doing the fire arrow check and thinking it was just another bottle, when in fact it was Ruto's letter, so I had to go back for it hours later lol. 10/10 will need to try another seed soon

Doing my first oot randomizer and I hit a wall so I looked at the spoiler logs. My progressive strength upgrade is behind "DMT Biggoron." This would be the trading quest would it not? if it is, the problem is that only the poachers saw is showing up in the spoiler logs. I already collected it but it doesnt show up in my inventory. I have the mask of truth where it should be, even as adult. Im assuming im just being dumb as this is my first time and im not 100% sure how logic works but if someone could let me know that would be great. and if there is something weird going on but someone knows a glitch or something to get around it that would be appreciated too. thanks.

Im stuck in the room with the invisible spikes and Redeads with the locked door on the higher ledge (The one next to the first skull lantern room). I thought maybe I would just need to come back with Longshot but after looking for a very long time I spoiler logged it and it's behind this door. I'm doing a Logic rando so I'm not sure what I'm missing. I have hover boots and bombs.

I'm in the middle of an archipelago and two of us are locked behind my Fire Arrow check, but the only way I know how to get it is to Longshot the Scarecrow, or beat Water Temple to raise the water in the lake, and both of those options are locked behind 3 other players winning their game.

Now I'm 100% sure that this isn't locking the entire seed out, but the two of us locked are just BK'd and I want to see if I can get the fire arrow check some other way I don't remember. So....anyone?

In the last two days, I’ve spent a little over 8 hours trying to set up ootr and mmr, I have the Wii common key, the original (USA).z64 file, and a wad file, I’ve tried on multiple different browsers, devices, and internets. I can’t think of any reason it shouldn’t be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey! I’m trying to find where to get overlays for streaming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time randomizers. I know how to use built in overlays for item trackers, but I wanted to have something on the side like I’ve seen other streamers do. I have been using OBS Studios for my software so far.

This wasn’t even for fun, it was mostly out of necessity. The only item I needed was the second Ganon Tower key to finish.

I thought I was out of checks and just got stuck for a while because I didn’t have iron boots or boomerang to get into Water Temple or finish Jabu Jabu. But I didn’t realize I had enough space to long shot the water temple entrance to get into Gerudo Training Grounds, which is what got me the boots.

By the time I got the key at the bottom of Zora Fountain, I was already at 91% of all checks collected so I just decided to grab everything and be fully decked out.

This was the longest rando I’ve done so far and it was all because it would not give me iron boots for 20 hours😭

I'm running a glitchless randomizer that needs all six medallions for rainbow bridge. I broke down and checked spoiler log for Song of Storms, which is Sheik song, Kakariko. So, I checked where Forest Medallion is and it's in Ganon's Castle. Wtf? I love the glitchless setting but everything online says the only way to access Ganon's Castle early is through glitches. Am I missing something?

UPDATE! So, it was a triforce hunt seed. I didn't even need to gain access to Ganon's Castle. 20 triforce pieces ended the game. I really appreciate all the help I received and I'm committed to not looking at the spoiler log next seed, unless there are literally no checks left. I was nervous about going to Reddit because the internet is mean, but I am beyond impressed with the help and kindness I received, especially from Hellstorm_42. Thank you, everyone. +1 faith in humanity.

Finally found Kokiri sword *and* silver scale and did this. Fml...

Update: I realized I hit the ocarina button, backed out with "B", and the wires got just crossed enough to think I had saved.

As a veteran of OOT since Christmas '98, I'm delighted to have found OOTR to breathe some fresh life in a game I love yet know like the back of my hand.

One problem though, setting up the game the way I'd like.

For my first Randomized run, I'm looking for two things specifically:

1) Within each Dungeon: only randomise the placement of items within that dungeon, shuffling things around between chests in the dungeon. E.g., slingshot should still be in the Deku Tree, bow still in the Forest Temple, etc, each dungeon completable without needing to come back later, etc.

2) In the overworld: only shuffling the heart pieces. I'd like the overworld to remain as it is, but with the heart pieces moved around to create the scavenger hunt aspect. Not progression items etc.

Is there any way to achieve this? I've seen the term 'plandomizer' mentioned, but can't work out how to make that work in the seed generator: everything keeps going into one big shuffle pool, so I'm getting progression items in the grass at Kokiri Forest, and far too big a randomisation to actually enjoy the search for heart pieces.

I'd be happy with either one, a rejigged dungeon or a rejigged heart piece hunt. But both would be the icing on the cake. Any help *much* appreciated.

I've never gone this long without even the goron bracelet before. I forgot that adult can't push the big block in forest and fire temple without the first strength. it's actually kind of wild just how different this run has been from all the ones i've done before, but alot of fun.

if you want a bit of a challenge/ rethink your typical strat, the hash was Bottled Fish, Map, Mirror Shield, Boss Key, Slingshot: "XS8IWEHQAL"

Glitchless; i feel like it's trying to tell me that now that i have the slingshot, i can shoot the eyes in forest temple to twist the hallways and get to the bow (one of the recovery hearts on the columns in the left courtyard)

i know i can equipment swap or jump attack rebound to get there, but i don't understand how i'm supposed to get it glitchless. the scarecrow doesn't seem to get you there. NO longshot yet, just hookshot.

i didn't look at the spoiler until i exhausted nearly every single possible other check i had access to, and then when i looked was like "yeah i saw there was a bow there, but i still don't understand how to get it correctly".

am i just stupid and there is actually an angle to hookshot it from the floor? cause i did try that. i know you can boomerang those hearts from the floor, but child can't get in without bomb hover.
