I stopped running my bike last week for a quick job, and this video is surely a good reminder do go ahead and have one installed.

Just pull the trigger on it. My friend I ride with just did this with his 6r and I was like ohhhh ya I should probably do that too….

Do you recall what could have caused it exactly?

Surely a rock. Didn’t even make it to the canyons thankfully. Got to the gas station and it was pissin.

I supposed you have it towed, after gas station, right?

I did ya. It was 100 degrees out. Not that it would make it far even in favorable weather

Saving this thread to see if anyone comes up with a good recommendation for a guard

Would recommend. First thing I did last month when I purchased the s1000rr and gsx-8t. Fits absolutely perfect and feels robust for any sort of projectile that'll hit it.

I also have a R$G guard. Had to replace 2 guards with my bikes before due to rocks and debris. Worth their weight in gold... or aluminium in this case

Second rule of motorcycling. If it hasn't got a radguard and needs one, get one!

Damn you! I've ridden over 100k miles and never had a radiator problem... But now that I've read your post & thought about it, I know I'm going to be catching a rock if I don't get a guard.

My horn on my zx6 got pushed back some how and rubbed a hole in my radiator. I removed the horn and installed a guard. But after 1k miles noticed the guard was rubbing on the radiator as well. And am worried about putting another hole. So I took it off and now I’m raw dogging it

I’m anticipating that. I’ll just bend it. It’s a vented chunk of aluminum

I recommend that you buy the one you didn’t buy when you got the bike. Pick on out and buy it, they all do the same thing.

I just installed a Evotech on my SFV4S, I debated on it because the install videos I watched made it seem like a nightmare- it lived up to all expectations, terrible experience. However this video is proof that it’s worth it.

I recommend the one you install before having to replace your radiator! 😂
I think any guard will do the protect it in the future.
I have a Evotech guard on my bike.

Guards need to be the first thing done to a bike. It should be stock from the factory but they’d rather save a few dollars and have the customers fork up $50+ instead.
