Went home to New Zealand and finally dragged my Silvia S14 out after it had been sitting untouched for nearly 3 years. The original plan was pretty simple, get it out of storage, see if it still ran, give it a quick refresh and get it back on the road.
As usual, that escalated
Ended up spending a good chunk of my trip sanding, fixing things, painting it and generally questioning why I thought this was going to be a quick job.

Just did the timing chain job on my KA24E and I forgot to put back the oil splash guard that sits on the crankshaft. The entire car is basically back together and I am very tempted to run it without this because I plan on pulling and refreshing this motor over the winter either way. Bad call?

I wanted to get the GKtech bracket but i do not want to pay $200. IMO this is what it should cost for something like this.

Stopped by my dad’s to check out the loot. Context he received a free KA24DE from a friend. Odd collaboration of items. S14 fuse box which to me is money money money as mine was obliterated in a crash and they basically unobtainable in this condition.

What’s everyone one running in terms of wheel specs? Buying a Blister kit here soon and looking for flush fitment, thanks.

Pulled the windshield trim to repaint my s13 hatch. Ordered one universal trim on Amazon and it didn’t fit at all. Does anyone have recommendations?

Already tried reaching out to 2 glass shops and both quoted me $250+ just to install the seal

Hey guys, I recently bought an S13 hatch and came across an electrical issue that I’m trying to figure out.
I was cleaning up the car and noticed the previous owner had done a pretty janky battery relocation to the trunk. When I lifted up the carpet, the positive battery cable came loose and made contact with the chassis, causing a pretty big arc in the trunk.
The car was running fine before this happened, but now I’m getting no power. I let the car sit for about an hour to clear my head since I wasn’t finding the issue. When I came back, the car had power again. However, as soon as I turned the ignition on, it completely lost power again.
The battery is brand new, and I’m getting power to the fuse box and other areas. While checking voltage, I also noticed that the chassis itself was showing voltage/current, which makes me think there could be a bad body ground or another grounding issue.
I’m almost thinking the short may have damaged a ground connection, fusible link, or possibly something else in the electrical system.
Has anyone dealt with something similar on an S13? I’d appreciate any opinions or suggestions on where I should start looking.

Hey, shopping for a built 240sx (s13) this weekend, was hoping some of you with widebody kits, especially the origin labo 75mm front and rear fender kit, to share your wheel+tire spec with photos.

Car's great, extremely well built, but I've been a widebody hater since like 10 years of owning my 240sx. To my understanding +75mm literally can calculate from like 18x9.5+12 (for stock QP) + 75mm = essentially need something like 18x11 -26 to fill up all that space missing, or a simple 18x11 +0 with a 25mm spacer.

Since everything is painted, I probably won't mess with replacing the fender or Qp for now.

My dads business associate offered my dad an entire KA24DE after seeing my s14. I guess it’s out of a 1998? My dad went to go pick it up and it comes with fuse boxes and all the hard to get stuff… no cost just come get it haha. Can anyone confirm the year based on connectors or anything? Also can these be dropped into a 1996?

Im trying to diagnose my rear wiper not working and it lead me to have a look at the wiring behind the rear wiper and washer button.

Seems like theres just no connector at all for it.

There is only the 8 pin for the hazards switch but nothing for the rear wiper and washer switch.

Might try following the wires from the hatch into the cabin, anyone have any ideas?

I’ve been down and up through this thing to get it running correctly and today was the first day with proper Afr readings.
Stock rs enthapy tuned to keep fuel maps better, stock turbo, etc. running stock boost.
I plan to keep this thing stock and not be drifting it.

The question at hand, what should I go ahead and either stock up on parts wise, or replace now before broke? Sr20det specific stuff? I’ve heard of a lot of issues with this motor.

Went to replace my shifter bushing because of the play in my shifter. I did an auto to manual swap about 5 years ago and never realized there was a short shifter on the trans I swapped in. I have zero idea what it is but it looks like a Megan racing v1. Can’t find any info on how to remove it, and it makes getting to the bolts beneath it impossible so removing the whole shifter assembly is virtually impossible. Thanks !

hey guys! recently bought an s14 with a blacktop sr20det! been nothing but problems, but adding to the recent issues is possibly bad rings! doing a compression test tonight to confirm! was wondering if anyone has recently had a shop rebuild their sr20 in the NY/NJ area and what was the price range! im only looking for 350-400 hp max as the motor currently is at right around 390! ive heard prices as low as 6k to as high as 13k but hard to find upto date information! maybe ill just LS it who knows

It's a 1995 it doesn't have a wing or a sunroof but it does have 5 lug hubs and fog lights. It's complicated stock and has 180k miles.

for context when i clutch in i heard grinding and my pilot bushing came out so im gonna take the trans out and when i pulled this off there was metal chunks. idek what this little thing is lol. also gears were shifting fine even.
