I made this short 2D animation where a girl is casually working at her drawing tablet...

…and then decides she's going to turn into a tiny shrimp.

That's basically the entire plot. 🦐

I mainly wanted to make something short and stupid while practicing character movement and transformation timing.

I'd love feedback on the animation and timing.

One of the new enemies we've been working on for The Rusted. He has a few different ways of making Rex's life considerably harder. This is probably my favorite look at him so far.

This is the first part of a small sequence I created. Initially, it was supposed to be a storyboard, but I got carried away and ended up cleaning it up and coloring the characters to make it more appealing for social media. In the last few weeks, we worked on this silly short for the crowdfunding of "The Little Trashmaid" (Live now on Backerkit).

We intend to do a silly animated series with "Gravity Falls" and "Star vs. The Forces of Evil", and we reached the minimum goal to produce the first animated episode!

is this possible in any other software than after effects ? ideally free but im willing to save up a little to purchase something,,, ive tried aviutl and that was a bust so i figured ill ask here!!

I saw the blood moon the other night and thought, “I have to animate this.”

So I did. 😂🌕🩸

I grabbed the feeling of watching that huge red moon in the sky and turned it into a little animated scene.

It’s funny how sometimes you see something in real life and immediately start thinking about how you’d recreate it in animation.

Anyway, here’s my animated version of the blood moon. Hope you guys enjoy it! 🐝🌕

What software would you recommend for 2D frame-by-frame animation with real photos as backgrounds?

I’m looking to learn 2D animation, and I’d like to create hand-drawn, frame-by-frame animations, but combined with real photographs or images as backgrounds

I’d also like to be able to use a 2D camera, so I can do things like zooms, pans, and camera movements

I’ve currently been using Procreate, but I really don’t like it for animation, so I’m looking for something better suited for this kind of workflow

I’ve been looking into Toon Boom, TVPaint, Clip Studio Paint, and After Effects, but I’m not sure which one would be the best fit. I’m open to both paid and free options

What would you recommend?
