So the calculator suggested a 30e/f or the sister size 32dd/e. I tried several bras. The 32dd (70e where I live) was too small. So I tried a 32e (70f) and it’s the best fitting bra I’ve ever had! (I used to wear 34d which rode up in the back and didn’t cover my boobs fully)

Hi all! I struggle with getting cysts (like a big pimple below the surface) every now and then (maybe once a month) exactly where my bra band meets my spine. I am severely underweight and therefore quite boney so it may have something to do with that. I wear bras size 28F on the tightest hook, they're slightly too big in the band and therefore may cause some friction throughout the day. I do have a bit of acne mostly on my face but there's some pimples on my shoulders and along my back too (though never cysts).

Does anyone else experience this issue or even better know how to fix it? I have never been to a dermatologist.

I'm super super short-rooted (which I've realized causes nearly all my fit problems), rather narrow, moderately close set with soft tissue and lots of immediate projection. The only bra I've found that fits is the Comexim padded 3HC. I've been losing weight for about a year, and I don't have my measurements from 6 months ago anymore but I've been wearing 34FF and 34G comexim padded 3HCs (sizing per Breakout Bras because I'm US-based, so it's not exactly UK or EU sizing) for about 5 months. The 3HC is really good, not perfect. (The wires could be narrower with a slightly wider gore, and the top of the cup could be a little lower.) The comexim plunges do not work for me. I tried a Lisa, because I wanted an unpadded option. The wires and cups are WAY too tall. The gore hurts, the armpits get poked, and there's loose fabric at the top of the cups.

I'm looking to buy more comexim 3HCs in my current size. Based on how I'm filling out the cups still on my current bras even though the bands are too loose, I'm planning to order 32G and 32GG 3HCs.

My question is about the Comexim miriam specifically. Does it fit like the padded 3HCs or like the unpadded Lisa plunge?

Current measurements are: 33 loose, 32 snug, 30.5 tight, 40 standing, 43.5 leaning, 40 lying. Calculator recommends 32FF/G UK.

Anyway, following up because I've been wearing the Freya Spot-Light bra for a few days. I'm afraid it's going to tear when I am getting settled into it, scooping and swooping. It feels so delicate. The gore DOES sit soooo much better against my sternum than what I was wearing. Do you just leave them as they are? Size bras to the bigger one? Add padding to one side? Adjust straps differently? Avoid certain clothes?

Hi, my size is 32F/FF. Projected and full on bottom shape. Looking for a post breast feeding bra. Boobs are much lower and bigger postpartum. I want a bra that lifts but also makes them appear smaller. I’m ok with full coverage. I wear a lot of turtlenecks, t shirts. I want something super supportive that keeps everything inside. This is a comment on something I’m still figuring out, so I’m putting it out there more to contribute data/anecdote than to offer conclusions (because I don’t have any yet). TLDR: I think increase in my pectoral and lat muscle development due to weight lifting has changed my shape, and therefore bra fit. Would be interested in hearing from others with their observations on this.

I’ve been lately having more problems with center spillage and empty upper/outer quadrant than I’ve had before. In bras that a year ago didn’t have these symptoms at all, it’s happening a little. And in bras that caused it a little, it’s now gotten worse.

My first hypothesis about the cause of the center spillage was increased body fat, because I’ve put on a few pounds of it in the past year. But the increasingly empty upper/outer quadrant suggests it’s more a change in distribution of tissue than in total volume. To be clear, my lats and pectoral muscles have not grown to the scale serious competitive power lifters achieve. But where I had virtually no muscle development before (actual question I asked my trainer: “Lats? Where are those?” 😂), I now can feel and see those muscles. And DEXA scans over the past year show that while I’ve put on a few pounds of fat, I’ve also put on several pounds of muscle. My suspicion is since my starting point was a small frame and very little muscle, even the relatively modest muscle growth I’ve had is proportionally enough to change my bra fit.

What I know for sure is bras that a year ago fit right (or close to right) now give me noticeable quad boob in the middle. Which on the one hand is annoying, since I bought a lot of bras on a great sale then and figured I’d be able to wear them for a long time. But on the other hand, I’m glad I’m getting the results I want from my workout program.

My details, for anyone else thinking through similar issues: UK30FF per ABTF calculator and long experience buying British brands that fit (or used to). Fairly narrow, projected, with soft tissue. My band size has not changed. Bra I have on hand that seems to fit best now: Primadonna Deauville in UK30F (their cups feel one size larger than other brands’ to me). Second best: Empreinte Thalia, also in UK30F (ditto the +1 cup size note), but the wires on it are extremely narrow—even narrower than the Deauville’s, and probably too narrow for me. Bras I plan to try going forward: well, I’ll start with the suggestions in the thread linked above, and bras with specs similar to the Deauville on Bratabase.

I need help finding a bra style and brand that fits me well now that I’m past all of my pregnancy and breastfeeding days. It’s been 9 months since I stopped breastfeeding and 2.5 years since I gave birth.

I am a petite woman being 5 feet 0 inches with a shorter torso on top of that.

My breast tissue is very soft and bottom heavy with wide roots, but shorter top to bottom. I tried on a few bras today and 32 band felt too tight, but 34 felt okay. I found a balconette bra from Target in their Auden brand in size 34D where the band felt okay and the cups were filled out correctly, but I had center gore discomfort and armpit discomfort from the underwire. Many of the t shirt bras and full coverage bras had gaping at the top where I wasn’t filling out the cup. I do not want a push up bra. Lightly lined is okay, unlined is my preferred.

I don’t know if the band tightness felt uncomfortable because I’ve been in a nursing bra for nearly the last 5 years or if the 32 is actually too tight. I double checked my measurements multiple times too.

If anyone has any guidance on companies, bra styles, or anything that would be helpful I appreciate it. I feel like I’ve tried everything on in target I possibly can.

hey yall, i’ve recently gained some weight and had to go out and buy new bras. i was previously a 30ddd/g, variation bc of my period, but even my 30Gs aren’t fitting right anymore. with the sun calculator, im a 32G now, and will probably be a 32H around my period. i ended up buying a skims bra but it fit tight at the band and the gore wasn’t flat. put my info in and turns out they sized me as a 36C. i know some brands do the +4 rule but idk it didn’t make sense to me. can someone explain it please? i also was wondering how i can tell what brands and styles to get in the future. in the winter i love an unlined bra because they always look nice but in the summer i need a bra that looks smooth under clothes. i got sized last summer and they chose a 30ddd natori cloud comfort bra but they didn’t have a nude that matched me. i’ve used natori and freya bras this past year but they fit super different. im fuller at the bottom, most of my volume is down there, im flatter at the top. i always have to scoop up and into the bra from the sides because i’m more wide set. i’m willing to pay up to $150 but i’d prefer something under $100. sorry if this is long, thanks in advance!!

I recently lost some weight and my old size 36H is no longer fitting correctly and has gaping at the top and I have to wear at the smallest hooks.

I remeasured and the calculator put me at a 32G (US). I ordered a Freya Offbeat underwire side support bra in the 32G (US) and it fit one of my breasts okay with very very small spillage out of the top of the cup, and the other was spilling out the top and sides. The bra was definitely snug on the underbust as well, but not painful.

I have wide roots and lack top fullness. Measurements:

Loose underbust: 33 inches
Snug underbust: 31.5
Tight underbust: 29.5
Standing bust: 38
Leaning bust: 41
Lying bust: 40.25

I had a revelation recently, while wearing my oversized jelly bra that does absolutely nothing for me, that I NEED a new bra. A couple, probably. Like yesterday.

For a couple years now I’ve been primarily wearing True & Co bras and the aforementioned Amazon wireless bra in an attempt to feel as comfortable as possible. But you know what’s not comfortable? Your post-baby boobs naturally resting halfway down your torso, being barely held in place by these sweat-soaked, light compression bras and pressed against your IMF instead of lifted away from it. I’m done.

The problem is, now I feel like I am looking for a unicorn. I like the idea of unlined when it comes to custom fit, but I know I would feel more comfortable with a little more modesty than mesh can offer. I don’t want the mental friction of having to add nipple covers or pads underneath; c’mon now, it’s the undergarment’s job provide that coverage, right? I like seamless and smooth styles because they work with everything, but so many unlined bras are lace… which is beautiful, but can be a sensory nightmare for me and limit versatility of wear. I’ve never tried a spacer but that seems to be close to what I’m describing; however, I think I want to get away from molded cups since they usually cause so many issues. All these checkboxes plus finding a bra that actually fits… I need the help of people with more bra game than me!!

This leaves me with 34D/DD. I’m 6’ tall, FOB, lots of loose skin from volume loss post-babies. I really struggle with identifying any of the other shape traits on myself. I think teardrop shape. My frame is pretty wide but I think my roots are actually on the narrow side of average. Maybe average projection? I’ve dealt with the struggles of both shallow and projected boobs in different bras (gapping at the top of cups, gore not tacking, etc).

Bravissimo Millie—UK 34E. I bought this on a trip to London when I lost my suitcase. My only unlined. At first this seemed perfect, I love the way I look in it. But now I know it’s not quite right. The gore tacks beautifully but is either too tall or too wide—it just presses too much on my sternum to wear all day. And even though it gives me great shape, there’s a finger-width of space between my IMF and the underwire, both on the bottom and the sides. And maybe the tiniest bit of rippling in the upper lace.

Natori Breakout Full Fit Contour—US 36D. I was at a higher weight when I bought this and had more volume in my bust at the time; it fit much better then, but I was also on a trip and needed a bra so I bought the best I could find. This is actually still my most comfortable underwire bra and I wear it despite it not fitting properly anymore. I don’t know if there’s a fit issue here other than I’d need to go down to a 34D?

VS Perfect Shape Smooth Push-Up—US 34D. Don’t judge me, I walked into VS yesterday in desperation and liked this when I tried it on. The fabric is comfy and it made me feel good, and honestly the fit feels pretty okay in the short time I’ve tried it on. But the times I want that much padded lift are pretty infrequent in my life. Planning to return but just sharing here for fit comparison help.

I have other bras that are absolute no’s also—I have a Cleo Faith that is such a bad fit that I can’t believe I purchased it, as well as several old 34C VS bras from my 20s that weirdly still feel comfy in the band but are now way too small in the cup.

Can someone please explain how exactly to determine the width/height of the breast root? i did read through the resources in the shape guide but I couldn't figure it out on myself.

When considering root height should I check it in relation to the elbow? or distance from the armpit? or the height of the IMF?

my understanding of breast root is the area where the breast attaches to the chest, but for me the crease kinda ends under the breast without really going up much like an underwire would.

so how would I trace it out? would it make sense to lay on my back or push the breast to the side to create the crease and go from there?

and I just can't really understand width. do these considerations only arise wrt how bras fit or is it something independent of that?

I would be really grateful if someone could help answer some of my questions or share any detailed resource if it exists. thank you!

It gave me a 30E/F in UK sizing and suggested a 32DD/E might be more comfortable. Most of my current bras are a 34D (75D)

I live in Germany so a 30E would be a 65F here (we go from D to E, there’s no DD).

But here is what’s confusing me. 75 centimetres are 30 inches. Then why is a 30 band a 65 band?? Should I really buy a band that’s 10 centimetres smaller than my underbust? That seems really tight.

Measurements/shape: 30 loose, 29.5 snug, 28.75 tight, 40 leaning, 38.5 lying down, 35 full. My shape is...tubular (but pendulous). Like the teats on a cow's udder. Very soft. I've lost about half my body weight in the last 1.5 year, so they are mostly skin. Pretty much zero shape on top, even in a bra. Nipples are toward the bottom of these tube socks, but they are not on the "ends" when standing; they point out front.

Calculator give me 30FF/G UK, but all the 30s I've gotten are too tight and uncomfortable. I did get a Fantasie Fusion (30G) recently, and it's ok with an extender; the cups seem a bit small as I have to stuff down from the top to get everything within the cup. But it's not painful to wear. So back to the drawing board for some 32s. Always S&S when putting bras on.

Cassiopee got shipped back. Hella expensive, so it needed to be perfect, and it was FAR from that. Way too much space in the tops of the cups. Didn't feel supportive.

Norah seems pretty comfortable while trying it on, and I'm keeping it. I haven't worn it a whole day yet. Breasts all fit in the cups (no quadboob) and the wire seems to be in my IMF.

Madison: hooray! could be the unicorn! I can stuff all my squishiness totally inside; it's on the loosest clasps. There's still a bit of space at the tops of the cups and so there's no "slope" peeping from the tops of the cups (because there's just no way to have any top fullness unless I push things up with my hands). Been wearing it all day, and the only issue is the wires come up really high into my armpits (I have a short torso, only 5'1" high). They aren't quite poking into my pits, but I can feel that they are close. Is there a bra that fits sort of the same but doesn't go so high into my armpits?

Hi all! I have been on a long bra journey, coming and going a little as finances allowed. I have very projected, center full, even-ish, tall root. I’m also tall with broad shoulders and have had a hard time finding a bra that actually fits. I finally tried panache Cleo blossom in the recommended 32H and it’s the best fitting bra I’ve found. it’s open enough for my roots, almost had enough projection, the wires fit and aren’t too wide. I know panache Jasmine is also recommended, but it’s discontinued. What other bras are out there that fit the projected with tall roots shape? Is it worth it to try Gorsenia? I also have an active job, besides wearing a sports bra, are there any other bra recommendations that will keep my breasts out of the way? Lol.

My typical day-to-day bra is the Panache Envy in the 38K, I also own the Bravissimo Una. I wear exclusively balconette styles, as T-Shirt shaped bras in my size always cause spillage, but balconette doesn't really exist in the world of sports bras. I have pendulous breasts with a shallow root. The girls hang.

I purchased the Bravissimo Inspire sports bra, which wasn't terrible, but was clearly too small. I had spillage over the top, worse for left breast. The underwire was not on my ribs on the sides but resting on my breast tissue. I believe I may need to go up 2 cup sizes to a 38L, which doesn't surprise me because the Panache Envy fits but it has stretch lace, and the fabric of the sports bra is (necessarily) stiff.

Anybody who has breasts like mine have any recommendations? I am struggling to even find sports bras that come in a 38L besides these two.

The Bravissimo Inspire is out of stock in those sizes but they do have the Apollo in a 38L. Has anyone tried the Bravissimo Apollo?

Edit to add: Not necessary for it to be super high impact, as I generally do weight lifting and low-impact cardio. If something exists that can give a great fit, I'm okay with a bit of bounce if I do go play tennis or something once in a while.

I posted a few weeks ago about the underwire on the Elomi Cate digging into my ribs in a painful way that leaves marks, despite everything else about the fit feeling perfect, and it was suggested that I might need a bra with more projection. I got the Elomi Morgan and at first I thought it was better, but eventually it had the exact same problem. Both of these bras also have an issue where the right side of the band rolls up slightly if I move around too much.

It seems like this might be due to the band being too tight, but I feel like if I go up a band size it won't be tight enough, and I don't think it's a cup size issue because when I do the backward band test, it feels exactly the same as when I'm wearing it normally. I've scooped and swooped and my boobs are fully in the cups with no gapping or spillage, and the wires aren't sitting on any breast tissue and the gore completely tacks, and the straps aren't digging in or sliding down. Everything else feels perfect except for this one thing.

I did the leaning over 90 degrees checks and I'm bottom heavy, wide set with wide roots, projected and pendulous. Do I need to try a different brand/style of bra? I ordered the Panache Allure and it won't be here until the end of September or the beginning of October, but I'm wondering if the Envy would be better. I'm very poor so I try to look for sales on Amazon and that's how I ended up buying both Elomis and the Allure. Would a band extender help? The bands on the Elomi bras don't feel uncomfortably tight, which is why I'm confused about what's going on with them.

I'm so close to the perfect fit. Even with the issues I'm having, this is the most comfortable I've ever been in a bra. I went from wearing a 38DDD to this and if the underwire wasn't causing me discomfort, I wouldn't even be thinking about the fact that I'm wearing a bra, which is something I've heard people say over the years and never believed was actually possible. Hi! I do not wear bras in my personal life, but unfortunately as a Woman in Society I feel obligated to wear them to work. I am looking for recommendations for a bra or bralette that meets these criteria:

• can not be seen under a tshirt! I tend to wear tighter shirts (like baby tees) and prefer a seamless look
• padded / lined (since the goal is to hide my nipples after all)
• comfortable!!!
• nude color

If it is relevant, my chest is on the smaller side - maybe 32B if I had to guess.

Edit: I did some quick & dirty measurements and the calculator recommended a size 28 B/C.

After using the calculator and getting a significantly different size than I'm currently wearing (34 A to 32 F) I found myself at a mall and decided to try on a bunch of bras. Of course that meant the staff wanted to size me (they got 34 B) and tell me which bra to buy without wanting to hear about "but on Reddit..."

I will say that the 32s were way too tight. Probably because I measured at the actual base of my breast, but most bras go a little lower than that and my ribs flare out a bit.

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend an in person location that is... I don't know... Less judgy? Also, I didn't remember the name of that store, but their bras were generally awful..

Hello! I recently took my measurements for the calculator, and it gave me 38DD. I’m not sure this is correct, though, since my boobs are pretty small for my size. I don’t need much support unless I want shaping for a nice outfit.

I’ve always struggled finding comfortable bras, since apparently fat people aren’t allowed to have small boobs (according to clothing companies). And I really have no idea what size I should be now, except that the size I was in (38-40 C) doesn’t fit anymore. Pregnancy and postpartum have changed the shape of pretty much every part of my body.

It doesn’t help that I have sensory issues, and absolutely cannot stand underwires. Or that I live an hour away from the nearest mall, which is a logistical nightmare with a baby whose wake windows are still less than 3 hours long . . .

I’ve tried ordering online from Thirdlove and Huug with no luck.

Any advice on whether I might have taken my measurements wrong or where to look online for a comfortable, wire free bra would be much appreciated!
