So I have a few 36DD Bras but they all fit differently on me. One has a band that's way too long for me and the other is just short enough for me to use the farthest teeth to secure it.

This is why it's so confusing for me to know what bra size I am

So, I've been starting to wear a properly sized bra and it's a life changer

I didn't realize how awkward my breasts sliding back actually felt (in terms of how I lay my arms at my side) and whenever I take my bra off, they tend to go back and it's getting a bit annoying

I was wondering if by wearing my proper bra more will my breasts start to sit more towards the front eventually? Is the armpit migration a side effect of wearing bras that were too small for years ? Or is this just something I'm going to have to deal with ?

I'm an enby trans woman trying to figure out her bra size for the first time. I've been using bralettes up to this point. I've tried two bras after using the calculator, but neither seemed to work for me.

My measurements:
Loose Underbust: 36.5in
Snug Underbust: 36in
Tight Underbust: 35.25in
Standing Bust: 39in
Leaning Bust: 40in
Lying Bust: 38in
Calculated Size: 36C

I think my breasts are Slightly Shallow or Shallow, and either F/T 2/4 or Even 2/5 on this chart. Not sure how relevant, but I've been on HRT for ~2.5 years.

The first bra I tried is the H&M Microfibre super push-up balconette bra. The band was painfully tight for me, but I've since seen in reviews that it tends to run small. The cups seemed way too big for the amount of actual breast tissue I have, and there was a lot of gaping at the top.

The second one I tried was a bra from George that my partner happened to still have lying around because they forgot to return it. The band wasn't an issue at all with this one, it felt perfectly snug without being painful. The cups had the same issue, though.

I'm unsure about next steps and what I should try. I'm looking for something that can provide some cleavage (hence the push-up bra from H&M), and probably something strapless. I'm also on a bit of a budget.

First of all, I like to say that I am very thankful this sub exists because I finally realized I’ve been wearing a wrong sized bra my whole life but those days are over now!
I recently went to Barcelona and used this chance to visit a store that was recommended in this sub – Change Lingerie, to try out bras in the sizes given by the calculator (36F or 38E UK / 80G/H or 85F/G EU)
My 6 measurements are:
Loose underbust - 94cm (ca 37”)

Snug underbust – 91cm (35,8”)

Tight underbust – 88cm (34,65”)

Standing bust – 107cm (42,12”)

Leaning bust – 111cm (43,7”)

Lying bust – 104cm ( 40,95”)

Since the main size was the EU one, I tried the 80G and 85F but those did not fit me, so the fitting lady insisted on me trying the 85E. This size fit perfectly across multiple bras I tried on, and I was confused why it is not the same as the calculator. Turns out that the UK size conversion written on the bra labels were all 38E which correspond to the size given by the calc.
Now that I am back home, I want to order some bras from the brand Lisca, since they seem like the only ones carrying a wide range of bra sizes and bra types. The thing is that all the sizes are listed as EU and I am unsure which size to choose – 85E or 85F. On top of that, their own “size guide” puts me at 90C again – the size I was wearing previously and always had issues…
I know the best thing is to just go directly in the store and try them out, but the problem is that there are a looot more options for the size 85E than there is for the 85F, plus the local store in the nearest town from where I live has a more limited selection than the one in the capital city and that is why I wanted to order online.
Does anyone have experience or recommendations regarding this issue? Which size conversion should I trust? Size conversions are all very confusing...

I just put my measurements into the calculator:

It gave me a 30E/F in UK sizing and suggested a 32DD/E might be more comfortable. Most of my current bras are a 34D (75D)

I live in Germany so a 30E would be a 65F here (we go from D to E, there’s no DD).

But here is what’s confusing me. 75 centimetres are 30 inches. Then why is a 30 band a 65 band?? Should I really buy a band that’s 10 centimetres smaller than my underbust? That seems really tight.

Edit: I’m aware of what the bra size calculator says (44HH in UK). I guess I’m just wondering if anyone with a similar size and similar issues ever found something they love.

Issues:

No bra ever sits flush under my breasts, so my breasts always lie against my skin and that causes issues. No bra ever sits flush against my sternum, and I often find my breasts just squished together in a lot of bras. I also find that my armpits get stabbed with a fair amount of bras that otherwise seem to fit in the cup. I know wireless would help with that but I prefer the support that an underwire bra gives.

Currently wearing a 46H from Understance but they shut down, and the wire just snapped (I work with kids so lots of funky movements, I guess? It always happens eventually). I’ve tried lots of other brands and this one was the most consistently good (not perfect, but good).

I’m worried I’m just too obese for a supportive and comfortable bra but I’d love to find something that, at the very least, keeps my boobs in the right spot and doesn’t hurt? And doesn’t just squish them down and together. Any other info I can give to help out?

I recently ordered a bonded bra which is seamless for fitted tshirts. I like the bra but it shows my nips and I dont like that. should I order another bra or is there any way I can fix this?

After using the calculator and getting a significantly different size than I'm currently wearing (34 A to 32 F) I found myself at a mall and decided to try on a bunch of bras. Of course that meant the staff wanted to size me (they got 34 B) and tell me which bra to buy without wanting to hear about "but on Reddit..."

I will say that the 32s were way too tight. Probably because I measured at the actual base of my breast, but most bras go a little lower than that and my ribs flare out a bit.

I'm wondering if anyone could recommend an in person location that is... I don't know... Less judgy? Also, I didn't remember the name of that store, but their bras were generally awful..

Hello! I am seeking recommendations for an unlined cotton (or mostly cotton) underwire bra that goes up to 38DDD+. I like a lot about the SOMA Cotton Unlined Perfect Coverage (53% cotton, 35% micro modal, 12% spandex): super comfy, straps stay up, doesn’t get stinky; but the shape isn’t the best, and I’m curious what else is out there. Would also be interested in any other primarily natural fabric recs people have (I know it’s tricky/impossible to find 100% natural fiber bras because of the nature of bra fabric). TIA!

ETA: I am typically a 38DDD but am also pregnant and may be increasing in size. Basically I am looking for bras that come in a 38DDD or larger.

Hi ladies, I am a 42DDD. I’ve been wearing panache/sculptresse. My breasts are deflated. I have been looking for one that is not molded, but has a little padding at the bottom for some boost, not just underwire. Does anyone have suggestions?

Calculator recommended 28DD/E or 30D/DD. Measurements approximately 28.5/27.5/26/31.5/33.5/31. I bought a 28E balconette, a 30D/E bralette, and 30D wireless t-shirt bra. I can't tell which is better between the 28 and the 30 in band size yet but I can fit a couple fingers in behind the 28 on the loosest hook so I assume it's not too tight.

In the 28E, the gore sits flat. I'm not 100% sure the wire stays fully along the IMF but I think mostly it does. I tried my best in swooping and scooping, not something I'd really done before. I can see the top line of the 28E bra through some of my shirts. Also, it looks as though the top of my boob protrudes a bit up from the natural curve of the bra. My nipples are also a bit high up in the cup lol. Not sure if that is normal.

The bralette largely feels fine, if a bit looser in the band compared to the balconette. Nothing particularly notable to me, lol. I can see the lines of the lace through some of my shirts, but I imagine that would be less of a problem with heavier shirts or sweaters.

However, for the t-shirt bra, a lot protrudes in the in between/over top area. I will be returning that one for sure, but since I will be doing so... it puzzles me a little since 30D and 28E are supposed to be sister sizes, right? Might it be a style issue? Or should I try the t-shirt bra a cup size up? Does the 28E balconette sound about right? I'm pretty agnostic to style or whatever, I'm just looking for something professional and comfortable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I recently took my measurements for the calculator, and it gave me 38DD. I’m not sure this is correct, though, since my boobs are pretty small for my size. I don’t need much support unless I want shaping for a nice outfit.

I’ve always struggled finding comfortable bras, since apparently fat people aren’t allowed to have small boobs (according to clothing companies). And I really have no idea what size I should be now, except that the size I was in (38-40 C) doesn’t fit anymore. Pregnancy and postpartum have changed the shape of pretty much every part of my body.

It doesn’t help that I have sensory issues, and absolutely cannot stand underwires. Or that I live an hour away from the nearest mall, which is a logistical nightmare with a baby whose wake windows are still less than 3 hours long . . .

I’ve tried ordering online from Thirdlove and Huug with no luck.

Any advice on whether I might have taken my measurements wrong or where to look online for a comfortable, wire free bra would be much appreciated!

If not, where should I start? I have tear drop that are full on the bottom. I have a hard time with bras gapping in the cup.

In my mid 20s and still trying to figure out my bra size. I thought I had finally found a good size at VS after someone recommended a sister size. I have been wearing a 36C and 34 DD for a year and a half now. It’s been the best size I’ve had, but still I have spillage on my size boobs and on the top of my boobs depending on the time of the month.

Hey guys! Making a new post after trying out a new bra. Here's my previous post. Please bear with me, this is a long post. I'm trying to be as detailed as possible since I'm not comfortable posting any pictures.

Summary of Previous Post:

I went to Nordstrom a couple weeks ago and tried on the Chantelle Norah Chic (34G), Fantasie Reflect Underwire Side Support (36G), and 2 Simone Perele bras (34G & 36G I think). The Chantelle one was the most comfortable but I thought it might be slightly too shallow. The Fantasie one I tried on the wrong size since I didn't know it used UK sizing. The Simone Perele ones were just too wide in the straps and the material was too scratchy which I hated, however, I thought the cups fit fine (I didn't mention this in that post because I hated the feeling of them on haha).

After making that post, I was recommended to try the Freya Offbeat Side Support bra in 34F and 34FF with a non-stretch extender as well as the Wacoal Women's Halo Lace Underwire Bra in 34G. I haven't had the chance to buy and try the Wacoal bra yet but I have tried the Freya one.

Before I get into how they both fit, here are my measurements:

• Loose underbust: 34.8 in
• Snug underbust: 33.25 in
• Tight underbust: 32.75 in
• Standing: 41 in
• Leaning: 42.5 in
• Lying down: 40.4 in

I have very soft tissue and projected breasts

Fit of Freya Offbeat Side Support Bra in 34F and 34FF:

• 34F: This one feels like it fits well. The gore lays flat. The fabric doesn't lay completely flat on the right side near the gore but that's because my boobs are different sizes. The right one is slightly smaller than the left one. I did have to tighten the straps to get the support that I wanted. Also, the wire sits right at the IMF (that's what it's called right?). I made sure to push it up there this time. I didn't do that last time. Band was a bit tight but should be fine once I get an extender
• 34FF: This one definitely felt slightly loose in the cup. Just like the 34F one, I had to tighten the straps to get the support I wanted. The underwire sat at the IMF and the gore laid flat. However, the underwire felt like it was digging into my ribs on the left side. Maybe I didn't wear it properly because when I tried it on a second time, it didn't really hurt. Band was a bit tight just like 34F bra I tried. An extender will help so I'll get that later.
• Note: I wore both bras on the loosest hook.
• Based off the fit of both, I think my size is 34F (34G in US size) but I think 34FF could work too depending on the style of bra or brand. The gore also didn't feel like it was digging in like the Chantelle one. The Chantelle one hurt a bit because the gore was digging in (even though it laid flat). At first I thought it was because I wasn't used to it but now I think it could've been a fit issue.

Issues with the Freya Offbeat bra:

Now the problem is that this bra makes my boobs look pointy as hell when I wear it. If you've ever seen pictures of old Hollywood actresses back when pointed bras were a trend, that's what I look like wearing this LMAO. Actually that's an exaggeration but it definitely makes my boobs look pointy. I don't know if that means the cup is a bit too projected for my shape or what. Also, I felt like I received more support from the Chantelle bra without having to tighten the straps compared to this Freya one despite it being more shallow. I think I need something with more compression/hug like the Chantelle, but with the Freya's actual sizing accuracy, if that makes sense...

Another problem was that the straps for this bra were too wide for my shoulders. The Chantelle one was perfect. According to one of the comments in my previous post, the Wacoal bra they recommended is quite similar to the Chantelle one. I'll be buying this if it's on sale again and my size is back in stock T_T

The other thing I didn't like with this bra is the fabric. It's a bit too rough and isn't soft so it's quite uncomfortable to wear.

What I'm looking for:

• Am I actually a 34F, or could 34FF work in a different style?
• Brands/styles with some projection like the Freya, but not as structured/pointy, more like a middle ground between the Chantelle and the Freya, while keeping some of that minimizing effect the Chantelle gave me
• Anything with narrower straps like the Chantelle, since the Freya's were too wide for my shoulders

I think I'm a 65D or E (30 band). I own only one 70 band and it's a C, and the cups fit perfectly. (I'm worried the 65E would be too big then, but the calculator recommended it to me). I'm not a shape expert but I think they're wide set and about medium projected. What styles of bras would be good for that?

Of course many brands don't carry a 30 band, but what I've also noticed is that some brands start with quite big cups on the small bands.

I don't have any stores that carry those sizes near me.

I usually got sized at brafitters as 85E/F and those bras feel very tight in the underbust even on the loosest hook while the cups were spilling slightly, however I'm just wondering if trying a 90 band size bra would be better in this case

Hi! I do not wear bras in my personal life, but unfortunately as a Woman in Society I feel obligated to wear them to work. I am looking for recommendations for a bra or bralette that meets these criteria:

• can not be seen under a tshirt! I tend to wear tighter shirts (like baby tees) and prefer a seamless look
• padded / lined (since the goal is to hide my nipples after all)
• comfortable!!!
• nude color

If it is relevant, my chest is on the smaller side - maybe 32B if I had to guess.

I recently lost some weight and my old size 36H is no longer fitting correctly and has gaping at the top and I have to wear at the smallest hooks.

I remeasured and the calculator put me at a 32G (US). I ordered a Freya Offbeat underwire side support bra in the 32G (US) and it fit one of my breasts okay with very very small spillage out of the top of the cup, and the other was spilling out the top and sides. The bra was definitely snug on the underbust as well, but not painful.

I have wide roots and lack top fullness. Measurements:

Loose underbust: 33 inches
Snug underbust: 31.5
Tight underbust: 29.5
Standing bust: 38
Leaning bust: 41
Lying bust: 40.25

If you have any recommendations for a different size or bra style that would work best for me please!

Hi all! I struggle with getting cysts (like a big pimple below the surface) every now and then (maybe once a month) exactly where my bra band meets my spine. I am severely underweight and therefore quite boney so it may have something to do with that. I wear bras size 28F on the tightest hook, they're slightly too big in the band and therefore may cause some friction throughout the day. I do have a bit of acne mostly on my face but there's some pimples on my shoulders and along my back too (though never cysts).

Does anyone else experience this issue or even better know how to fix it? I have never been to a dermatologist.

Hi, my size is 32F/FF. Projected and full on bottom shape. Looking for a post breast feeding bra. Boobs are much lower and bigger postpartum. I want a bra that lifts but also makes them appear smaller. I’m ok with full coverage. I wear a lot of turtlenecks, t shirts. I want something super supportive that keeps everything inside. Hi all! I have been on a long bra journey, coming and going a little as finances allowed. I have very projected, center full, even-ish, tall root. I’m also tall with broad shoulders and have had a hard time finding a bra that actually fits. I finally tried panache Cleo blossom in the recommended 32H and it’s the best fitting bra I’ve found. it’s open enough for my roots, almost had enough projection, the wires fit and aren’t too wide. I know panache Jasmine is also recommended, but it’s discontinued. What other bras are out there that fit the projected with tall roots shape? Is it worth it to try Gorsenia? I also have an active job, besides wearing a sports bra, are there any other bra recommendations that will keep my breasts out of the way? Lol.
