Looking back at "The Deserter," it’s so sad how pure and joyful Aang’s reaction was the first time he firebent. He had this giant grin because he was just looking at it with that carefree and playful Air Nomad mindset (a cool trick rather than the uncontrollable weapon as which he saw it in later seasons).

That innocence makes it so much worse when he accidentally burns Katara seconds later. It completely broke his spirit, and it's crazy to think that one single mistake traumatised him so badly he refused to even touch fire again until the final season. What other minor moments in Book 1 and 2 do you think changed the trajectory of the rest of the show?

So some how I’m able the play the Avatar Legends fighting game on Xbox even with the release date being pushed back to September 3rd. The game updated and it’s fully working now! The xbox store even has the September date still up. Has anyone else noticed this or is able to play too?

The Chase is eliminated! One of my personal favorites of the season, I love seeing Aang stand his ground and fight Azula, and Toph meeting Iroh who helps her get over her conflict with Katara is gold. Guess I have to accept it.

Ozai should've attacked the northern watertribe. It would've wiped out the last free nation and would've arguably done more to crush morale of earth bender partisans.

TLDR: Specific categories of gases would be a cool subclass of Air bending.

Sorry if this has been asked or talked about before, but I haven't personally seen it brought up on my feed at least. I just thought about this considering the other bending forms in ATLA and LOK. We have combustion and lightning, ice and blood (possibly chakra with Amon?), metal and magma (maybe ground sense but idk if that's actually rare or if people most don't see a reason enough to learn it).

I know they're on top of a mountain so heavy gases might not be as common, but they are under attack by the fire nation burning things and people as well as their motorized tech they used to climb. So there's likely plenty of NOT oxygen in the air for him to use.

I'm not saying he can manipulate something as specific as nitrogen or carbon monoxide, but what about categories of gas? Noble gas, heavy gas etc like metal bending being easier with some imperfections in the material, or magma.

I know everyone has talked about him voiding the room of air to death already, but particular gas manipulation feels like a plausible rare school for Airbenders to me. They already have a tiny bending population in terms of raw numbers compared to the other tribes. So if there is a subclass we aren't familiar with the De Facto master Airbender trusted to train the Avatar seems like a good candidate.

Despite flight being incredibly rare it does kinda feel like a perfected evolution of the glider to me that just takes considerable mind over matter as opposed to its own subschool of bending.

It also feels much more in line with the peaceful beliefs of the Air Nomads. Sure it still breaks the no killing taboo, but even if Gyatso was rightfully pissed idk if he'd still force them to suffer as they suffocate as opposed to a deep breath or 2 without an oxygen rich environment causing them all to collapse.

It also would explain the lack of scorch and fame damage just as much as removing the air altogether would.

Idk just something that occurred to me is all. Sorry if this was a long read, and double sorry if this has been talked about to death and I've just somehow missed it.

Idk just a fun thought I had when I started rewatching recently.

If you zoom out, Aang isn't really the protagonist of a traditional character arc; he is a function of the system. He is the software patch the universe keeps reinstalling every time the world breaks.

Look at the history of the Avatar cycle through Raava and Vaatu. Every ten thousand years, the light and dark spirits punch it out, and the human world gets dragged along for the ride. Down on the ground, you have this relentless cosmic wheel: Sozin’s Comet rolls around, the Fire Nation attacks, the earth benders try to hold the line, Roku fails, Kyoshi has to play judge, jury, and executioner, and generations of Avatars rise, fall, and die, only to wake up and do it all over again. The nations spin around in this predictable, bloody orbit of imperial expansion and equilibrium. Aang’s entire struggle in The Last Airbender is essentially trying to keep that ancient, predetermined machinery humming. He is the ultimate instrument of the status quo.

And then there is Zuko.

Zuko is the anomaly in the code. For three seasons, his family, his nation, and the historical momentum of a hundred years of war try to force him to play his assigned role in the machine. He is handed a script written in blood and generational trauma: hunt the Avatar, reclaim your honor, fuel the empire.

When he finally flips sides and joins the Avatar, it is not just a character redemption; it is a structural fracture. For the first time, someone bound to the imperial engine looks at the path carved out for them and actively refuses to walk it. By realigning himself, Zuko short-circuits the mechanical inevitability of the Fire Nation's victory. He cracks the wheel open, proving that human choice can actually break a cycle that Raava, Vaatu, and a thousand past lives had kept spinning for millennia

Ok before you throw me in the river i just want to clarify i dont hate the series. I simply enjoyed people bending and using elements to their favors more than the idea of a person who can decide the fate of the world.
