I wanted to share some beautiful fountain ink art of Kariguu by u/nickthagreek, the illustrator of the anthropomorphic fantasy tale I'm working on. Kariguu is the Master Weaver of Pawville.

She is based on the salmon pink tarantula that has lived in my home office for nearly 20 years.

Here's the scene in an early chapter of the book where she makes her introduction.

Not sure if it's a really big hoverfly or something else? But they flew up to me and sat on the wall of a bus stop for a bit. Very cute though!

She was so soft and fluffy! It's midmorning here and she seemed sluggish (moved slowly, fell off of things easily) so I'm curious whether she's just resting or whether she's near the end of her lifespan and running out of energy. Whatever the case, It felt genuinely magical to meet this beauty.

Update! She's OK! She was just resting when I found her on the tiki torch, and flopped ungracefully because I startled her. She was still in the same place a few hours later, but when she wanted to leave, she took a few minutes to vibrate her wings and then flew away just fine. TIL that these moths need to warm up their wings for a few minutes before they can fly.

I found her crawling around on the ceiling. When I let her outside I saw a male red-headed bush cricket waiting on the porch step like a gentleman and they had a bit of a staredown. I don't think his rizz worked on her
