A court ruling in Jerusalem to reject a request for information about defence exports to the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s Bosnian war has once again raised questions over the alleged use of Israeli military equipment by Bosnian Serb forces during the conflict, BIRN was told by the two Israelis who made the legal request.

We are persuaded that disclosure of the requested information may harm national security or foreign relations,” said the ruling.

Mack claimed that the fact the court did not deny that there were exports to the former Yugoslavia was important evidence that they did indeed take place.

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has posted footage from a prison holding Palestinian women on social media, boasting that he is responsible for the harsh conditions imposed on them.

Almost all of the Palestinian prisoners are women and children imprisoned without trial.

Albert Memmi grew up in Tunis, a colonized, but French-educated enough to know the colonizer almost as well as he knew himself. He was in a position to draw both portraits from the inside.

The colonizer: In his own words, the colonizer "is a privileged being and an illegitimately privileged one; that is, a usurper." Skin color and passport hand you the privilege whether you asked for it or not. This sounds very familiar nowadays. According to Memmi, the colonizer has three options: leave the colony, stay silent, or stay and fight the system. He argues that few would opt for the third option with success. He has a term for the second one though: "humanitarian romanticism”. Again another very contemporary dynamic; think about aid workers today, who draw hardship pay and a security detail while ostensibly there to fight poverty.

The Colonized: Memmi wrote in 1957 that a qualified worker among the colonizers earned three or four times more than the colonized worker, without producing three or four times as much. He presents an economic argument that the colonized had no incentive to be more productive with such an imbalance. Memmi described colonized women who tried desperately to uncurl their hair and lighten their skin, chasing an acceptance that never actually occurred. No matter how fluent or how polished a colonized became, he argued they would still be met with disdain.

In commenting liberation movements, Memmi rejected half-measures like a negotiated "French Union" outright. His final word was that the colonized refusal "cannot be anything but absolute" Not just revolt, but revolution, breaking what he called an iron collar.

The goal is to post content that exposes how the creation of Israel on Palestinian land violated one of the most fundamental principles of international law: the right to self-determination.I want to document the illegality of handing over the land to Israel, especially when Palestinian property ownership and population were clearly overwhelming. I also want to show how the UN Partition Plan was merely a recommendation—and an unlawful one at that—by comparing it to other Mandate territories where states were properly formed according to their people's right to self-determination. On top of that, I plan to share documented proof regarding Israel’s involvement in past genocides, like in Rwanda and Bosnia.Once these accounts grow significantly, my dream is to get backing from international lawyers and major activists. Ultimately, I want to take the theft of Palestinian land in 1948 and the Nakba to domestic courts—both in my country, Turkey, and across Europe—and eventually push it all the way to the International Court of Justice.To make this happen, I'm looking for team members or advisors who can speak European languages like English, German, or Italian (regardless of their ideology or religion). I need people who can manage social media accounts in their respective languages, work in full harmony, communicate smoothly, and move forward together as a coordinated team.
