My Watch Apple Watch Series 4 in 2026

How does it hold up if only used for checking time, ECG and sleep tracking? All the other features will not be used at all. Is 34 bucks a good prce for a in good condition model with metal silver bands and charger and box?

New battery completely changed my AW SE 2

My 2.5 year old Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen 40mm fell to 79% battery health and I got the ‘battery’ replaced which in actuality is just a new replacement watch. It would need to be charged twice per day atleast and had become stuttery/laggy. The replacement is so nice and smooth and lasts me the whole day. I know this watch wont get watchOS 27 but I’m content. It runs great and I couldn’t ask for more.

I was having tons of micro wake ups throughout the night, but when I added a fan my wake ups dramatically decreased,

Can anyone explain this ?
Has anyone else found this same solution ?

Ultra watch 2 stopped tracking sleep and most of vital data after the last update.

Upvotes

Sleep data stopped two days ago. No data both on watch and phone.
It may have nothing to do with the last watchOS update, and just a coincidence.

It gives no data for sleep and all vitals but wrist temperature. It is in Sleep Focus during the night. It tracks my HR all night long so I believe it has nothing to do with sensors.

I literally tried all tips on web, chatgpt and gemini none worked.
Ensuring tracking is turned on. Turn it off, force sync, restart devices wait for 10sec, ensure the apple watch is prioritized in sleep etc..

I am also in a cruise ship but I just landed on land with its own cellular + phone and still it doesn’t show any data on both watch and health app.

Spending over 2-3 hours and even unpairing/pairing from scratch didn’t help. At this point I am frustrated. A device with 500+ price just should not stop tracking the most important KPIs.

I barely have 3rd party app and they are just for steps and heart analyzer.

Any idea from the community what might be my issue?

Question What do you think about a guy wearing a Rose Gold Apple Watch?

I’m considering buying an Apple Watch Series 10, and I found a really good deal on the Rose Gold color.
I’m a guy, and I’ve never owned/worn a Rose Gold watch before. I actually don’t mind the color, but I’m curious what other people think.
Does Rose Gold look weird or feminine on a guy, or is it pretty much irrelevant once you put a darker/neutral band on it?
Be honest — would you personally wear one?

Screen starts to pop off

Hello guys,
I’ve recently noticed that the bottom of my Apple Watch (SE2) screen is slightly starting to pop out of the frame, compared to the top of the screen (both in pictures). ChatGPT says that it might be the battery or just some glue at the bottom that started to wear off because of water or hot temperatures. Did you guys ever experienced something similar ? Is it still safe to use ?
Thanks for your help!

Question Apple watch SE logs elevated HR (95–115) during sleep short bursts ~2x/week, but one episode lasted ~3 hours. Sensor artifact possible?

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Background on me: mid-20s, active, resting HR around 56, night HR usually drops to the 45-50.

**•** Roughly twice a week, the watch logs my sleeping HR jumping into the 95–115 range. Normally these are short — about 15–30 min — then it settles back down.
**•** One recent night it stayed elevated for around 3 hours instead of a short burst.
**•** There are also occasional single readings down at 45–48 that look like clear misreads sitting inside an otherwise dense cluster.
**•** Within a minutes of waking it dropped.
**•** I don’t have such readings without activity through the day.

Some of the “elevated” numbers look close to 2x my real resting HR, which made me wonder about some errors. On the other hand, I can’t reproduce it throughout the day

Has anyone compared Apple Watch overnight HR against an actual ECG/Holter - did the numbers line up?

Question Change in cardio fitness due to update?

Thumbnail

Curious if others have noticed updates affecting cardio fitness measures. It was a couple years ago mine dropped significantly. I was on long term doxy and noticed significant bloating and discomfort so I stopped that medication, but my V02 max stayed low until just recently when it jumped up again. The August reading was after not wearing my watch for a couple months, then doing an overdue update.

Anyway, just wondering, since both chances were sudden rather than slow and gradual.

Thanks!

3 months of tracking pickleball wrong finally pushed me to just build the thing

okay so remember me complaining about Apple Watch having zero clue what a pickleball rally is?

update: I got tired of waiting for Apple to fix it so I just built my own tracking for it.

not gonna lie I didn't expect to actually finish this, started as a random weekend project just to see if I could get rally-level data instead of the whole session getting averaged into nothing.

turns out once you can actually see individual rally intensity, it's kind of insane how different a slow rec point looks from one of those brutal 40-shot grinds. explains why the old data never matched how I actually felt after games

still rough around the edges tbh, adding stuff as I go based on what's annoying me during my own games. but for the first time the numbers after a match actually feel like they match reality instead of some generic HIIT estimate

if anyone else has been dealing with the same stop-start tracking problem, it's called PickleWatch, happy to answer questions if you're curious how it works under the hood

My Watch Watch auto paused rings

Post image
1 Upvotes

I moved last month and my watch wound up getting packed in a box. I didn’t wear it for about 2 1/2 weeks. You can see the gap in the screenshot.

It looks like my rings were auto paused since I still got the perfect month badge for August. My move streak kept going also.

Is this something I missed, or is it an un-announced feature?

Question Question for those who use an Apple Watch at the gym

For back days, how do you wear your lifting straps with an Apple Watch on your wrist? I basically have to move my Apple Watch almost all the way up to my forearm to be able to use my lifting straps.

Question How accurate is the sleep data from Apple watch SE 1st gen?

I am using Apple watch SE 1st gen
Bit worried about my deep sleep data, I always make sure to give at least 7 hours of bed time.
No matter what I do I never get deep sleep more than 45 minutes.

Like is the deep sleep is in normal range?
How much deep sleep is good and what's your score?

what colours of apple watches do yall prefer

In the recent years, the apple watch colours are usually silver, space gray, rose gold, midnight, or black which seems a bit mundane. Apple used to have exciting new colours like blue, green, red, pink, gold, or ceramic white. What colours do yall hope to see for future apple watches?

The rumors say that there will be a ceramic white comeback next week. I personally would like to see controversial colours like the cosmic orange or light purple watches in the future. What do yall think?

Also, what will the new colours of watch bands will apple be releasing next week?

Found a little feature in bedtime/sleep mode.

As we know, sleep mode disables raise to wake and you have to press the crown in to see the time, then it’s quite a bright display that can flashbang you at 3.42am..

If instead of pressing the crown you rotate it up, it brings on the clock at very low brightness and you get some haptics to confirm you’re doing it then you can continue to rotate it to get it as bright or dim as you’d like.

It’s not a feature I’d seen written anywhere before so thought I’d share it as it’s been useful.

looking for dressy metal band for a 5" wrist

I'm a woman with a 5" wrist, and currently wear an 11 in rose gold. I have been looking for a dressy metal watch band where the watch won't flop over. The biggest problem I'm encountering is, of course, the size - almost NO bands go down to a 5" size - the smallest most of them go is 5-1/2". The other problem is that the 11 rose gold is a sort of matte finish, and the few bands I'm finding that fit, don't match tonewise. They're a high shine finish.

I know this sounds picky, but I am going to an antique jewelry/clothing convention with very dressy banquets.

So far, it seems like the best I can do is I've found a lacy (cutouts) black silicone band.

I DO use my watch all the time, not just for messages but also for medical reasons, so I would like to be able to wear it, although I will be surrounded by friends if I fall or whatever.

Deep Sleep

May not be the best sub for this, but since everyone is tracking their sleep, what's the best way to improve the amount of deep sleep you get? I've tried eyemasks, magnesium (been of huge help nonetheless), blackout rooms, a cool room, but I only end up getting less than 10% of deep sleep every night.

apple watch series 6 with 77% battery health

i want to buy a secondhand apple watch (gps + cellular) to use whilst im at work.

i have never owned a smart watch before, so my main uses will be : checking & sometimes) answering notifs, tracking steps & obviously the time.

i have found few for a good price, but is a 77% battery health too low?

I am unsure whether to get a newer series like the series 6 with lower battery health OR an older series (3,4,5) with a better battery health?

ideally i would like to wear my watch through the whole day and make use of its heath features (whatever those may be for the series i end up purchasing)

any advice/knowledge is appreciated!!

My Watch Apple replaced my 5-year-old Series 6 for free, but wouldn't touch my Series 9 with a failed sensor - where exactly is the goodwill line?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Some context on how Apple handles out-of-warranty hardware failures:

Because I went all the way up to Executive Relations, and the outcome surprised me.

The Series 9: bought in February 2024. A few weeks ago, the heart rate sensor module came away from the case on its own. No drop, no water, no swimming. The original adhesive was still there, just not sticky anymore. The Genius Bar declined my case as the Watch is out of warranty since February. An advisor on the phone tried to get an internal goodwill exception approved, which also got declined. I then wrote to Apple's leadership (Tim Cook and John Ternus) and got a reply from the Executive Relations within 24 hours, with a named case owner and a phone call.

The final answer: at 2 years and 7 months, the device falls outside what they are allowed to authorise. Not a judgement call, a hard internal cutoff.

Here's the part I don't get. In the same appointment at the Genius Bar, I brought in my Series 6 from 2021. (Background: The display had failed. I tried everything. Reset, letting it run flat, etc. After letting it run flat for 1-2 months, it started to work again, so I gave it to my wife, and she was using it. As I bought my Series 9. Then, after an watchOS update, it went into a bootloop). At the Genius Bar they couldn't restore it, so it went to the depot as a software issue, and I got a brand-new replacement, free, no questions asked. A five-year-old watch. So my hardware issue transformed into a software issue, and software issues take a different path at Apple. If I would glue my Series 9 and send it in because of software issues, they would send me a replacement Series 9. But I tried the honest route and had hope for goodwill. I am from Germany, and we have 2 years of „warranty." It’s not warranty directly; it’s more like, the manufacturer has to prove to you the defect is not his fault and it’s your fault the device broke. Apple treats it as warranty, so if the watch broke in February, they would have replaced it. But as it’s a few months later in the same year, it’s not going to happen.

So the 5-year-old watch was replaced for free, and the 2.5-year-old one with a clear manufacturing defect got nothing. I told them that and they started with "You accuse Apple of manufacturing defects which isn't proven" and I directly pardoned myself as I did not want to accuse them it was my assumption. "Why would an Watch that never got tampered with fall apart on its own, at my wrist?"

What really grinds my gears: I always look after my stuff. The Series 9 has no scuffs, dents, or damage. I always wash and dry it after sweaty workouts, just like Apple says. So what am I doing wrong with my Watches dying?

I wanted to buy a new Watch Ultra in late 2026, but now I am not sure about this anymore.

Why should I buy an Apple Watch when all my Apple Watches break after 2.5 Years?

My iPhones, Macs, etc., all work flawlessly for years, and I upgrade them because of lacking features, but all my Watches I had to replace c.a. 2.5 Years after buying them because they broke...
