As per the request of folks in my last couple posts wanting a tour.

As for the others who were asking how I build my filters, I am waiting on materials but I have a tutorial video in the works. I’ll be posting that soon.

Thank you all again for the love and kind words.

Advice Needed 2/3 water turtles

Hello everyone! i have this problem i belive, a co-worker of me is going to buy 2-3 water turtles pet (the common ones sold in gardens) to put them in this fountain (that isn't working) with no filter nor heater; they know the turtles need a basking spot and they are going to clean the water before adding them (it is under two cedar).
I don't know how many liters the fountain is (second and third picture are here if someone wanna do the math).

i have some concerns about:
1- volume of water
2- need of a filter/water change
3- temperature of water (now we have 30°c outside but in few months it's going to be cold)
4- the color of the fountain makes me think it is made of copper

can a few turtles live there? can they survive?
i don't thik i can change their mind. they told me they will move them when it's winter.

i'm the one bringing one of them to the pet store.

chatgpt version:

Advice Needed Thoughts and experiences with the petsmart 125? (Read below)

Post image

I've been trying to aquire a 125 for a bit here. I've only ever had seapora for all my large tanks and I've heard stories saying marineland has fallen off in quality and to steer clear but at the same time, ordering a 125, stand and lids through my LFS would be like ~1300 .My lfs would sell me a aqueon tank and albeit a much, much nicer stand than the petsmart one. On the other hand petsmart would be HALF the cost due to the sale but im unsure about the quality due to what I've heard. Thoughts on which route I should go?

Advice Needed What to do after all fishfood has been dumped in aquarium

Upvotes

I came home and found that my entire bag of fluvial bugbites had been dumped in my 30 litre tank. My sister broke into my room, took the key to access the aquarium and dumped the entire thing. She had also presumably messed with the fish as I had found my fishnet besides the aquarium also wet.

I’ve had to euthanise two of my endlers as they were swimming belly up and did not move out from my hand when I had to put it in. The rest of my endlers are gasping at the surface and the amanos also in the tank are extremely frantic.

I tested the water parameters and last time was 0.50ppm but nitrites was luckily still at 0.

I’ve bought seachem prime, API quick start and I’m planning to do a 50% water change every day with no feeding for next few days and lights off. I just posted this in case there is extra information I can have in the meanwhile to keep my livestock more comfortable.

It’s been fun keeping my aquarium but I do not have good faith that it will remain safe in my environment and I’m planning to rehome everything. I’m really sad that something I’ve put weeks of my time into has to go but there’s no point if I’ll see it spoiled over again.

edit: for anyone commenting i have already done the 50% water change (and i did it immediately after i came home and saw the state the aquarium is in). as of the time of making this post it has been 7 hours since i did a water change, gravel vacuumed and put more API quick start. i’m still waiting on the seachem prime to arrive tomorrow.

Advice Needed Does this look okay to yall?

Hi!

A while ago i combined a few of my tanks into one big one due to some personal health issues. The fish get along great and look healthy and happy to me. I added a picture of the water parameters because i never understand those things lol i haven't touched the filter since February and I haven't touched the water in 2 or 3 weeks.

I agree that the tank is overcrowded at the moment but i expect that to take care of itself with time. I am planning a fish pond outside for the goldfish and the platies and guppies are already over 1 year old so they will lower in numbers as well.

Right now the current livestock is:

2 female guppies

3 black mollies

3 silver flying foxes

20 platies

6 plecos ( wont grow over 15cm)

Few snails

9 goldfish ( 7 adults, 2 common babies)

The silver flying foxes i got in a 20liter aquarium with the 2 commons. Idealistic they wouldn't even be here since they arent legal in my country to keep. I picked them up as siamese algea eaters. I tried rehoming them but they attack everything unless they are with goldfish so they came back and are now in the tank with the goldfish were they are happy.

I have 9 hiding spots in the tank. Every pleco and silver flying fox can have its own hiding spot. The plecos eat those sucking pallets and the silver flying foxes eat fish flakes. I feed a mix of tropical fish food and goldfish flakes. I put that in the water so it doesn't float.

What are things that i can do to improve my aquarium for the fish i have now if you see anything? Im planning on cleaning the filter this week so i dont want to touch the water untill a week after for the good bacteria.

Just showing off the newest batch of eggs. I've had no luck with fry hatching, but that isn't a big deal to me. I just find it interesting to watch fish behavior when they do this.

Advice Needed Sudden death Spoiler

Ive got a group of boesemani and turqoise rainbows, they’ve been doing great for months and are in a community 55 gallon with neon tetra, cherry barbs, corys and a pleco. My only guess is that he was nipped to death by one of the bigger rainbows? Is that something they do, should I be ready to rehome the offender?

I feel silly looking back on the first picture and wanted to thank this community for helping me learn and grow! Finally got to a point where I’m happy with the amount of plants and coverage, but of course I can and will add more! Been having problems with fin nipping and tearing still, I’ve added more tannins in today to help, any advice is welcome!

Advice Needed What's the best way to rearrange tank decor?

I have a 10 gallon tank with fish and shrimp and am looking for advice for rearranging the decor inside and add some more hides for the shrimp. I have both real and fake plants, some hides already and wondering if I need to remove the fish and shrimp or leave them inside while I move things around? Any advice is welcome (I'm still new to fish and aquascaping).
