I’m new to snails and this little guy hitchhiked when I bought a mystery snail. It’s about the size of a bladder snail but not sure if that’s what he is.

Found this beautiful coloured snail in my dark cycling tank, had light turned on to see what's going on.

Got these bladder snails for free from pet smart 💀 I have them in a quarantine jug rn and am really confused to what’s on their shells. I’ll try to post a vid of it in the comments as well. I havnt seen any movement from it but it’s super hard to see cause of how small they are 😭😭

The darker blue part of his shell has been spreading and I’m wondering if it’s just him growing? Is the crack normal? And the blue part of the shell has some white spots too?

My tank has been established for a while and it has been close to a 5 months since I last added any new fish or plants, only thing I do are water changes occasionally when my parameters are off. I woke up this morning to see 2 baby snails in my fish tank. Where did they come from????

Hi all. I have an established and planted 10 gallon with 3 adult and three baby Ramshorn snails in it. Two days ago I did a 50% water change, rinsed the filter and all was well. I've been looking for ways to add calcium to their diet so I balanced a small piece of broccoli and a carrot slice and put in the tank.

When I got up the next morning, the smell was terrible and the tank very cloudy. I panicked and did another 25% water change but did not rinse the filter this time. But the tank still took an additional day to clear and smell ok. But now my snails are very lethargic, barely moving. The largest parked himself in a corner and hasn't moved in the last day. I strip tested the water and everything looks the same as usual, although I can't test for ammonia.

Did I accidentally crash my tank? Did the vegetables leave something toxic behind in the water I can't test for? I don't think it would be good to do a third water change at this point but there is very definitely something wrong. What should I do? I'm going to be heartbroken if I accidentally killed those little buggers, they are so cute.🐌 ☹ PS, there are no fish in the tank, just snails.

How long can a mystery snail comfortably go without food and resorting to chewing on live plants? I’ve been feeding mine at least once or twice every single day and have considered cutting down due to excessive waste production.

Are mystery snails like fish in general where it can be fine being fasted for a few days without food? Is 1-2 days of no feeding okay?

Hi guys! I noticed today that my little mystery snail left some pinkish debris in his mucus on the wall of my tank which I’ve never seen before. I’ve had him almost 6 years so I know he’s on the older side but I was wondering if this was any known issue I could remedy. He currently lives by himself but has lived with various other fish during his life. His water specs are as follows:
PH: 7.6
Temp: 80*
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 10
I’ve seen some information about air baths but he has a large amount of space at the top of the tank where he can more than fully leave the water and I see him fully out of the water often so I doubt he has a lack of oxygen but I’m open to any advice!

This fella is helping me with cleaning the residues of my guppy tank. At the moment I have several guppy breeding tanks and I rescued this bud from a community tank. I was wondering, is there a chance for him to breed? What’s the best thing to provide him for it? How does the snail breeding process looks like?

Just got two nerite snails over the weekend. I’m amazed at how fast they are!!! What’s your favorite kind of snail and why?

I got this ramshorn snail along with another one yesterday and both were moving around exploring the tank for an hour after I put them in. But after a bit, this one started staying in one place and barely moving with its shell on the side for over 12 hours. And later I pushed the shell upright to see if it was still alive. And now its finally moving but it dragging its wheel around on its side as seen in the photo. Is it sick or dying?

anyone else’s snail do this? he does not play about his blanched beans. he’s got the whole thing in his mouth like a big cigar lol

I got a packet of plain gelatin. Anyone have a recipie for me to spoil my baby (and soon to have more babies) with? I'm always so worried about her health after the incident a few weeks ago and her mysterious illness and want her to feast like a god. She seems exceptionally fond of kale now as I've discovered.

Words cannot describe just how much i love that pond snail art! The nerites are also amazing. Such a shame though theres no ramshorns :(

I recently got a horned nerite and he just sits in the same spot for DAYS. I know he is alive because he moves around a bit. I’ve had regular nerites that move around so much more and this dude just chills in the same spot not eating any algae. Is this normal?

She seems to be doing better after a few weeks. I just tested and cleaned the water (ANN 0-0-20). I gently tapped her and almost no response. Is this bad?

I added API leaf zone fertilizer yesterday. I use Seachem prime to condition.

Setting up a new tank and i picked up some hitchhikers from the plants. I know most of them are bladder snails, but there are also a couple of these guys that are larger and much darker in color. Is this just a larger grown bladder snail or is it something else?

Not a huge deal is just think it would be cool!!! I have 2 spiky nerites. I sat for TWO HOURS in my fish store looking in every tank and I found 2. They're ordering the black helmet ones for me. I love these spiky guys and the flat profile of the helmet ones would do well in my tank is think!

My tank is freshwater in progress to becoming brackish. My goal salinity is probably 1.004 to 1.005 SG. My refractometer is still resting 1.000 but I HAVE begun to transition recently, so there is at least some salinity already, even if its tiny.

Is that goal sg enough to support nerite babies growth? Is there a potential for teeny nerites to appear? They are still small, maybe pea sized.

I also am doing my best to grow delicious brown goop for them. Shrimp flakes go into my tank pretty regularly for my crab to pick at. The only fish I have are swordtail and they leave the crab alone. They graze a lot on the wood and the black one bites the crab out of my plant roots for some reason, but they dont seem to mind the other critters.

Well, Bugs had a baby without my consent and spawned this little critter who I've named Thumper! His colors are so interesting! His shell is a deep purple, his face is solid yellow, but his body is marbled and his antenna are stripped. So interested to see how he develops as he grows!
