Moving!
Hi all! My husband and I are looking to move to the Orlando area or the surrounding area soon! Does anyone have anyone have any suggestions on towns or apartment to look at?

Hard to make a recommendation without knowing where your jobs will be located, what activities you enjoy, what your budget is, etc.

So easy to look at a map and think something isn’t that far away here. In reality it could be 30 minutes to an hour even with tolls.

Exactly. You can have a 30 mile commute that takes 40 minutes or a 5 mile commute that takes 50 minutes depending on the area and direction.

You should come down to Orlando and look around yourself. What suitable for one is not suitable for another.

I honestly don't understand why people don't visit an area first. They just fly blind and then act all shocked when nothing is like they think it should be.

I’m convinced 90% of posts like these are people who saw a TikTok that showed a fantasy view of Florida and their next stop is Reddit to ask us to plan their moves.

What is important to you? Close to work (where’s that)? Good schools? Near Disney? Downtown or suburban?

Yeah, move to Maitland or Winter Park since you didn’t post a budget?
If you have a tiny budget, move to Lake Wales and be sad every day.

Use the search bar, that is my suggestion, then do the same on the Orlando sub.
