First time visiting Southeast Florida (and Florida I general!) I’m staying in Pompano Beach and I won’t have a car, but I’m thinking of renting one for about 3 days.

What are the must-see places or day trips I shouldn’t miss?

I have a client with an Associate's in IT Tech who is looking for a part time IT-related job in West Volusia County (Debary, Orange City, Deltona, Enterprise, Deland). He has some experience from a short internship, as well as his education. I already tried Wholesale Computer Outlet in Downtown Deland but they aren't hiring.

I've scoured the internet and maps for places, but I'm really struggling. What are some places he could work? Preferably he would work with clients to fix computer issues.

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me out with a small - non-monetized - video project. I'm documenting the destruction of nature across Florida, and collecting short 10-20 second clips of clearcutting, burning, paving, traffic, fish-kills, mangrove cutting - whatever you see happening around you. Conversely, also accepting short clips of pristine nature for comparison. If you're interested, please DM me and I will provide a google drive link to upload your files (other methods available as well).

One venue is cheaper for the space but we'd have to arrange catering, rentals, probably setup and a bunch of other stuff ourselves. The other costs more upfront but handles most of that.

I’d probably pay a little more if it meant dealing with fewer vendors. I really don’t want to spend the months before the wedding chasing people down and making sure everything lines up.

For people who have done this in Florida, did you prefer an all-in package or bringing in your own vendors?

Hi all! My husband and I are looking to move to the Orlando area or the surrounding area soon! Does anyone have anyone have any suggestions on towns or apartment to look at?

I am taking up a job in Florida. Office is at Juno Beach (Next Era Energy Resources). Google map shows me some apartments there, such as -

1. Villas of Juno apartments
2. the point at Palm beach gardens
3. the point at north palm beach townhomes
4. Atlantico at Alton

I can google all day long and all the websites look fantastic.

But they never tell the true story.

So I thought I would ask locals.

Looking for 2 bed 2 bath (I can settle for 1 bed 1 bath as well), and want to spend maximum of $3000 per month on rent.

Don’t need luxuries. Just don’t want to live in some apartments where there is always problems.

Also, if this area is expensive, I am ok living at 45 min to an hour of driving distance, but if people can NameDrop some decent areas for that as well, that will be great.

Any recommendations?

Retired couple from the SE part of the state wanting to come over and spend a week enjoying the Gulf Side for the first time in 25yrs.

Any recommendations for a good little chill beachy vibe area that might be a more dog friendly type spot? Im noticing a lot of the beaches seem to be off limits for Dogs.

I have a successful dog walking business here in NJ but i am absolutely miserable and need a new start (a few years ago i would’ve never considered this. now i would go and not look back!)

I am considering the tampa area (st pete specifically)

do any of you use a dog walker? if so what do you pay? (i currently offer walks , boarding and sleepovers in clients homes)

i may try to start over with my business in FL

just not sure what the market is like and if dog walkers are a commonality / needed. Also the weather being so much warmer curious how that is a factor too

My mom's dementia has gotten worse over the last few months and I think it's time to look into memory care instead of trying to manage it at home. She's in her late 70s, still fairly mobile, but she's been wandering at night and forgetting to take her meds even with reminders set up.We're looking somewhere in or close to Tampa so my siblings and I can visit often without a long drive.

I called a couple places off google but the tours felt rushed and I couldn't get a real feel for how they treat residents day to day. Anyone have a place they actually trust, or questions I should be asking when I tour these facilities?

Im moving to Orlando in a couple months I have no desire to work at a theme park and I currently dont have a car yet I'm just trying to figure out if Public Transportation is at least decent here for work commute and if its possible to live here without working at a theme park and using public busses

Hey all, Ill be on a Business trip to NY on early/october and then im heading out to Florida to have some vacations. I was planning to go to a theme park and then to the Keys since i like wild life, snorkel and kayaking. Im 32 (M) travelling Solo with no car, what are the musts that i should visit? what is overhyped and i shouldnt bother?

This year my average spending is about $365 a month for myself and my partner.

Shop primarily at bulk stores, farmers market for veggies on sale. Build our meal prep around sales. Not buying expensive cuts of meat & don't use brand name for the most part.

I’m 30F, currently live in Sarasota county. I am autistic, I need OUT of the hospitality sector as soon as possible because trying to fit in within it is like trying to force a square peg into a round hole. I need to rebuild my savings as soon as possible, and it’s just not gonna happen making $14 per hour at my local gas station. Thankfully I live with family right now so rent is not an issue yet.

I’m more than willing to make $14 an hour as an apprentice, since I will be investing in a career. That’s fine. I am fine with $20 an hour. Or $25 an hour. I don’t need much in life, I just need to be able to afford the basics right now and get back on my feet.
If necessary, in a year or two I can move out of Florida. But right now I need to figure something out before I have a nervous breakdown continually trying to force myself to fit into an industry for which I simply do not have the mind.

I have some college credits, however I dropped out in 2018 due to unfortunate circumstances. I was a straight A student. I was among the top of my high school class. I enjoy math and science. I will not be an official Florida resident again until April, though, so if I am going to go back to college it’ll have to wait until then so I can pay in-state tuition.

Im a 25 year old man working a full time job at a compressed gas company in North Eastern Pennsylvania. I have a GED and my drivers license, no car no further education. Horrifically unhappy in every facet of my life currently, Ive thought much about getting on a bus back to Florida (where I was raised as a child) and never looking back recently. Im trying to come up with some sort of plan of attack as I dont wanna just become another beach bum. A hard worker through and through. Im a quick learner. Been with this company 4 years now itll be 5 next april. Mounting responsibility with no significant raise in pay, increased stress and cost of living, as well as lack of opportunity on an entry level are all factors in this decision. If anyone here has ANY advice whatsoever regarding work, housing, localities I would be incredibly grateful as I feel like I am running out of options

Please be careful out here there is a man who goes by Francis ( Frank ) Manning. He is a serial offender of elderly abuse. He comes into my store from time to time because he does food service delivery etc. if your elderly parents order through such apps please be very careful cautious!

Peak season is right around the corner and i’m trying to get my shit together way earlier than last year. we’re refreshing all our photos, rewriting descriptions, and tweaking pricing so we’re ready when demand really kicks in.
we mostly cater to international visitors (Europeans, Brits, Aussies, Latin America, etc.) coming to Florida for theme parks, beaches, airboat tours, gator stuff, and all the touristy things. last year was decent but i feel like we left money on the table with the OTAs.
if you had to pick just one platform to focus on right now between Viator, Klook, and GetYourGuide, which would you go with for attracting international tourists to Florida?
would love to hear real recent experiences which one is driving the most bookings for you guys these days any major differences in fees, visibility, or how international customers respond also happy to hear if you’re running all three and which one is actually worth the effort.
