Baclofen 50mg once a day to 25mg 3x at 10am. 2pm, 10pm

When I used to take 50mg once a day (I was abusing it), I would feel extremely good, dopaminergic, motivated
Now I take it 3x for stabler blood levels so I can taper off of it, and I feel like crap, anhedonia etc. Wtf should I do? As of rn my taper doses are 20mg, 20mg. 20mg

Baclofen 100mg Taper with Klonopin

Heh everyone I post on this sub for the past years about trying to taper off baclofen. I've gotten my dosage down from 200mg to 100mg. It has been a long long ride to get to where I am today.

The question I have is can Klonopin 1mg help me with the anxiety I have as I keep tapering off. The withdrawal anxiety I expirence from tapering down on 100mg is insane and it makes me scared to go outside.

I don't plan on continuing the Klonopin long term, just until I'm off baclofen.

Binge Lead to Constant Nausea for a Month

I had a binge of 8 beers, 30 mg baclofen and 900 mg gabapentin (terrible idea) on July 26. It made me very sick and I threw up a lot the next day, but the real problem is that it’s one month later and I still have terrible nausea. I haven’t touched any substance since then with the exception of anti nausea meds which are barely helping. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Literally nothing. Not mental effects, no muscle relaxation. Nothing. Even tried to abuse it.

Working my way down gradually

I’ve been on it since last December for anxiety and depression. Started at 40 but worked my way up to 120 for a month recently which is much higher than i wanted, so i started tapering two weeks ago. I did a few days at 87.5, and tolerated it well, a few at 80, and yesterday was 75, today was 70 and I’m feeling ok. Tomorrow I’m planning on dropping to 60 and will probably stay there for a bit. Agmatine sulfate and selank both have been helpful I think, but it could be placebo.

Where are other people at in their tapers and how is it going for you?

Best of luck to everyone trying to get off of this stuff.

Anyone else get weirdly stimulated/emotional on baclofen while also feeling mentally slower?

Baclofen has a really strange effect on me and I’m wondering if anyone else experiences this.
It makes my body feel SUPER warm, and mentally I become way more emotional and energetic. I can get really hyperfocused on whatever I’m doing and almost feel stimulated rather than sedated. I also notice myself clenching my jaw more.
But at the exact same time, I’m clearly cognitively slower. My typing gets noticeably worse, I make more mistakes, and talking/formulating sentences becomes harder even though I feel energetic and focused.
It’s such a weird combination — physically warm + emotional + energetic/hyperfocused + jaw clenching, while simultaneously feeling mentally slowed/impaired.
Has anyone else had this kind of paradoxical reaction to baclofen?

Occasional 5 mg and effect with Xanax intermittently

Prescribed 5mg baclofen at night for my back pain and I take Xanax prn usually .25 twice a week .

Took the baclofen twice this week and the Xanax twice and I'm feeling a lot more anxious . I also trialed Gabapentin one 300 dose Sunday night .

Does the days on Baclofen add extra gaba exposure and why I'm feeling way more tense and anxious the last few days?

Here's what the last 10 days looked like

8/3 .5 Xanax
8/5 .25 Xanax
8:6 Baclofen 5mg
8/9 Gabapentin 300mg
8/11 .25 Xanax morning
Baclofen 5mg 8/11 pm

rumination? gone. dreading social anxiety? gone. depression? no where in sight.

just blast it man. no amount of gaba-b withdrawal will surpass being chronically mentally ill and not being able to live your life.

Paradoxical reactions to baclofen ... is it rare?

The purpose of this post is to see how common / uncommon it is

It may remain commentless but im happy to share my still ongoing story to anyone who may stumble upon this post

More awareness should be given by medic professionals about how potent this med is i wasnt even told it was a GABA ..

3 weeks, having some lower abdominal feeling issues

Hello, I was prescribed 10mg (small dose) at night for lower back pain and had 6 trigger shots at same doctor visit. Since then I have been having a lot of pressure and pulling feelings in my lower abdominal area that makes it feel like I need to pee constantly when I dont actually have to go, and like feelings in my kidneys and intestines--just a really unfun time of pressure type pains. Ive seen an urgent care once and even a hospital in a truly anxiety ridden moment late at night. Ive had a CT scan and it came back normal, same with a xray on my lower back (little wear and tear nothing awful so they said)--anyways, Im not sure whats worse at this point-the back pain I was suffering (house sitting till near end of year and the furniture in this house is killin me-chronic back pain from bad car accident awhile though)-anways, rant aside Im just going crazy looking for answers. Is it the baclofen that's causing this? Ive indirectly hinted at this with the last two doctors I say and they said nothing (doctor services these days really are just not what they use to be). I just want answers and I dont want to feel like I need to pee or like my organs dont have enough room for some reason in my lower half just to fight a back flare up in this place Im stuck in for a few more months. Be it solidarity or something, Im resorting to reddit for advice because Im just truly losing my mind its been weeks of this.

Baclofen and Pregabalin similarity

Hello. If you’ve taken both Baclofen and Pregabalin how do they compare to eachother?

I have taken Pregabalin sometimes for anxiety it works like a charm. I can feel emotions again, Everything is normal and feels good and relaxed.

However so far Pregabalin has caused me water retention/bloat. That is a no for me. I cant have those side effects.

If you have anxiety, and take Baclofen, how does it feel/work? Pregabalin feels a bit like alcohol but smoother and longer lasting and better mood.

I have never taken muscle relaxant. However Im going to suggest to try Baclofen as It works on GABA and on top of that my anxiety makes my movement really stiff so it might help with that aswell.

To all the veterans out there..

Please give me positives ... but no scary stories please 🙏

Im currently tapering 30mgs that ive been on for spinal arthritis for around 15-16 months 10mgs 3 x a day currently at 20mgs 3 weeks into taper...

It turned paradoxic during my 100mcg clonidine taper and into the weeks following on 0mg clon so an immediate taper was started 30 days out from the clonidine

*My system is super kindled*

Im currently down to 20mgs did first two drops at 2.5mg still unpleasant wds at those drops and i got brave this 3rd week byvdropping 5mgs with some slightly worse wd symptoms but i just want off it not the freaking 12 weeks that my gp suggested ( il only be cutting it short by 3 weeks)

Plan to do the next 2 weekly drops at 5mg and the last 4 at at 2.5mgs

My doses are split 3 x a day

I feel like im going totally insane

Symptoms

Severe nerve discomfort in arms

Internal agitation and pacing

Intermittent bouts of anxiety

Muscle tension in my neck upper back and really mad pressure banding around my head

Waking up in fight or flight every morning pounding heart and orthostatic intolerance

Emotional mess at times

Dark intrusive thoughts at others

Waking up feeling like im in withdrawal the body sensations so severe i have to get up straight away

Looks like my whole taper is gonna be symptomatic.. IS THIS ALL NORMAL ??

If i get to the last 4 drops at 2.5mgs can i just jump day 7 of the last 2.5mgs and how long at 0mgs to feel normal?

Im on other meds too

50mgs amitriptyline

4mgs diazepam

2 x 30/500 co codamol once at bedtime

Cant take any supps it makes everything worse

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read yet another of my dribbling randomness posts

EDIT i finally finished the taper! The lower end dosing was brutal and the acute post jumping was horrific but i did it! I thought id never get off baclofen after 2 prior attemps on a severely sensitised system but its done ... not over yet but nearly there

Baclofen dosage

So how do I explain to my doctors that I'm basically taking 160 to 180 mg because I am prescribed 80 mg using 10 mg pills and another 80 mg prescribed by a different doctor at 20 mg but still 80 so 160 a day, when I was in the hospital for a neck surgery, they gave me 60 mg of it a day but then I instantly explained that I take like 120 at that time and they had absolutely no problem giving it to me along with so many other meds LOL thoughts?

Which dose can make one really sleepy?

I struggle with insomnia and I can take up to 50mg of baclofen and don’t feel any sleep at all. Maybe 60-80mg can give me some sleep? Good thing is that baclofen at 40mg+ also helps me not wake up in the middle of the night.

Baclofen helped me in so many ways

So I’m on 30mg of Vyvanse for adhd, and I have a bad back and sciatic pain as well as leg and back muscle spasms. I weirdly mentioned to my doctor of wanting to up my vyvanse because I noticed it helps manage my pain by increasing dopamine / calms down my neurological pain receptors. He laughed and said yes while that’s true I should try this a med which was baclofen. The first week I noticed less muscle spasms and back pain but I also noticed magically my brain was quiet and calm more calming than vyvanse ever gave me.
It was like my stress was all melted away and gone but I didn’t “feel” like I was on any drugs… just relaxed and brain was organized. I’ve been on a handful of meds to manage pain and my super loud brain and this has been like magic for me. I’ve been on it two months and still get pain towards the evening but the benefits the combo of meds has on my life is game changing. Without knowing I completely stopped drinking as well. I use to drink every other day and tbh large amounts ( to manage my pain and stress) now I go to open a beer and literally barely even want to finish it. I was able to be organized and take on a new job and my family tells me I’m so regulated now. Sorry I just wanted to share my experience and see if anyone else had a similar experience!
