Investing Switch platforms (EFT)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently with Saxo and invest €500 every month in an ETF. I don’t use the auto-invest option because I sometimes prefer to buy only when the market opens negatively.

Lately I’ve been having some issues: the instant transfer doesn’t work and always gives an error message. This means I have to use a regular bank transfer instead, which works but can take a long time. I’ve been in contact with customer service for weeks now, going back and forth, but still no solution.

I’m a customer at Belfius myself, so why not switch to Rebel? The costs seem roughly the same to me, and it would be more convenient since I already have all my finances with that bank. It might even help if I want to take out a mortgage later (though I’m not sure whether a bank takes that into account).

Does anyone have any advice, or would you advise against it?

To me it seems Medirect has the best offer right now. ETFs are free of commission, it has a decent savings account (the one capped at 25k) and handles all taxes.

I had the same issue too at first, but solved it by doing the instant payment from the banking app itself rather than redirecting from Saxo app.

The instant payment has never worked for me but the regular bank transfer is instant (at least for me at Argenta)

I’m using Belfius as my main bank and Rebel as my broker for investments. It’s the only one I’ve ever used, but can’t really say anything negative about it. Maybe one thing would be that it’s not always that easy to navigate, but you get used to it

Idd recommend DEGIRO because you get your own bank account so you wont have transfer issues, I get very good customer support, and I think they are cheaper then Saxo. They take care of TOB also.

Degiro does not handle the Belgian taxes. So it is not really a solution.
