Does anyone know of any blood drives happening in tge next two weeks or so? Trying to give back to the community in some way (aka my blood) but can't find any local ones happening right now besides going to Houchins to donate.

I’m 15 and was look for some more lowk places to hang out. I have active friends that I can take to like Rollerama but rn my closests are more walk-around-some-stores and just not like super active. What kinda places should I recommend hanging out? Were all the same age and they’re girls and we’ve walked around downtown and the mall n stuff, but recently we went to a cookie decorating class and I was wondering if there were other small/local things like that to do around here.

We have space for runners, walkers, and the betting in between. Whether you're sober or enjoy a couple drinks, nobody is forcing you to drink, either. That said, penalties are assessed in beer for those who imbibe, and we can either find you a stunt liver or make you drink something non-alcoholic if you need.

I’m especially asking everyone in Laurelglen to please check your backyards, garages, sheds, side yards, under decks/porches, crawl spaces, and anywhere a small cat could have gotten trapped. She may be frightened and may NOT come when called.
If you have dogs, please also check your yard carefully. I’m worried she may have gotten into a yard and could be hiding somewhere.
PLEASE don’t assume she’s just another outdoor cat if you see a small black cat. If you see one that could possibly be Bean, please take a photo or contact me so I can come look.
She is microchipped, so if you find her, please have her scanned.

Anybody heard anything?

I recently moved to California and I’m attending Bakersfield College. I’m currently classified as an out of state student because I haven’t been physically present in California for the required 12 months yet.

I’m trying to enroll for Fall 2026 and play football at Bakersfield College. Admissions & Records told me to contact Athletics because I’m pursuing student athlete status, but I haven’t been able to get a clear answer yet.

I’m trying to find out whether California has any exemption, waiver, special classification, or other option that could allow me to avoid nonresident tuition before I complete the 12 month residency requirement.

If you’ve moved to California recently and dealt with this at a California community college, what exemption or process did you use, if any? What office actually helped you?

I’m mainly looking for people who have personally dealt with California community college residency, especially recently. I’m trying to figure this out before registering because the nonresident tuition would be a huge problem for me.

Hey, does anybody know of any yard/garage sales happening around the South H and Panama area? I'm planning to go early in the morning tomorrow with my family and sometimes there aren't a lot of easily spotted signs.

Peacock Park Lane has no peacocks, but it does have several large ceramic roosters. They are even illuminated at night by solar lights!

I feel so silly. 😂 But Im happy because I just had my favorite burrito in town last night, but they were sold out of their horchata. 😭 They are called Tacos los Pohibidos 661, and I’m so glad I found them. And I also didn’t realize they have 3 other locations. 😍

I’m so upset I don’t know the name of my favorite taco spot and I can’t find them. They used to park at the rite aid on Wible and Panama, but now there’s construction happening there so they had to move, but I don’t know where. Please help! I miss them so much! I’m having withdrawals…. 😭

Our fearless leader Butthook was filling in as a last-minute hare and started the trail from the Cancer Survivors Memorial (I miss the statues) at Beach Park. Because it was another warm day, trail was kept short, but we still got to see plenty of nice homes as we meandered through the area. Enjoy!

If you ever want a reason to get out of the house and make some friends, come on out! We meet every Monday at 6:30 to run, walk, and jog 3-5 miles with a couple beers. We have walkers and runners, drinkers and non-drinkers, so we have a place for just about everyone.
