Paid 300 USD for this Malayan $50 note. Aside from a few barely noticable pinholes, the note retains its crispness and embossing too.

I am not a serious note collector but am considering getting the 9th Ed US Paper Money Red Book. I find the US Coin version unsatisfactory in most respects -- repetitive, poorly illustrated, and very light on economics. Does the paper money version have similar issues? The potential upside for me that I see is that Paper likely does not need to waste space on gimmicky new "Mint products". Is there a better 1 volume non-specialist book?
Any views would be appreciated!
