Moving Advice

Hi, i play console so no mods, but I'm looking at moving a T2 village from starting point down to middle of map, would be it best to relocate every building in one go and set most of workers to construction and delivery, or best to do a couple of buildings at a time.

Also if I move my pig pen and chicken coop will all the animals run down to the new location automatically or would I need to walk them down? And would it be best to just build 2 new buildings of these rather than relocating them?

Thank your for any advice

Im building my tier 3 near the river but am just going to leave the tier 2 for the most part and just slowly transfer some folks over and keep the tier 2 as a place to keep making resources.

I just started this last night so I can’t say how well it’s going to work but that’s the plan at least. You’ll have to take the animals but you should be able to fast travel with them, I have before.

I’ve been told a lot of hammers and everyone on build mode but it’s a very long process, with horses coming hopefully this will make it a thing in the past, personally I’m just making small towns all over the map

I made large towns all over the map. It’s a lot to keep track of but that’s what this game is all about. Management.

My daily renown farming is crazy because I have all my villagers in combat gear and they stand their ground.

Also I have the game on its hardest settings possible. So bandits walk by every minute it seems.

Nearing a couple hundred villagers and still running great.

Moving sucks....takes forever and slows game progress until you're done moving.

That being said.....I've done a slow gradual move before and that seems to work ok. I had already built a couple T3 buildings where I was like the town hall so I just relocated them, had the Inn and Smelter also. Food is the most important part so make sure you have plenty of that either being cooked at the new location or having it cooked there

It’s not as terrible as most may complain about. Start your new location. Build your fast travel. Use the relocate for some but not ALL of your buildings! Set up a caravan once your storage is built in the new location and have it run to clean out hard to get items and resources. Prioritize building for a few days so your villagers will focus on moving only important buildings. Don’t move animal pens they just don’t need that many resources. Once you setup your new pens you can do “follow me” and use fast travel!

Don’t be in rush, enjoy planning your new layout and the work that goes with it. When you are done leave the old place as an outpost until you’ve extracted all you need from it then move the final villagers.

Make them fish stew and honey cakes …wish there was hot coffee to serve! Don’t forget the pets! Build your place and get those dogs and cats settled.
