Really, you might even be understating it. Back in the '80s, Wally was viciously xenophobic toward Russians.

In one particular issue, almost everything out of his mouth was treating Red Star like he was personally responsible for Russia's actions in Poland, Afghanistan, Angola. Czechoslovakia, Etc. He made everything about politics because he thought that Red Star was trying to kill an innocent woman, but the truth was, she was his fiance who was infected with a deadly disease that could contaminate anyone who even came into physical contact with her. Red Star wanted to give her a quick and painless and, but, by the time they captured her, she was basically rotting and they took her to a hospital where she died over the course of a week in a slow, painful demise.

The Titans really weren't the good guys in this issue, especially Kid Flash.

Yeah, its been a long time since I read those issues.

They might have went too far with it, but I liked shit like that.

I know it wouldn't work today, because fans be picking up at the most smallest things to critique characters, so if they were actually pieces of shit they'd be like OMG.

I feel like they've went too far the other way now

Idk about bland. Besides don't you think that might get a little too preachy?

Comics are much much preachier today, where every character has the exact same corporate status quo liberalism as their approved opinions.

Variety would be good, with more diversity of both left and right wing perspectives.

No, I didnt find it preachy back then.

I find it really bland to assume that all these characters think the same socially, or even worse to never address it.

I don't even like teams where everyone gets along
